If the French Air assets are the backbone of Chadian and Nigerien surveillance activities against BH, I wonder why our blockhead South Africans will think that Chad has the capability to intrude into Nigerian territory without recourse to clearance from NA.

We lead the MNJTF campaign and we are in charge of the situation within our territory. As has been mentioned here ... there are no foreign boots on Nigerian soil. A violation of this principle by any country will surely draw the ire of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. France knows the drill.

Read below:
========

“Our air force is carrying out reconnaissance missions, but not over Nigeria,” Reuters quoted a French defence ministry source.

“Our support is limited to neighbouring countries such as Chad and Niger.”

You said it yourself. That's only surveillance and reconnaissance. No one even posted a single thing about Chad and surveillance.

Chad entered Nigeria and hit targets in Nigeria is the one story.

Chad liberated a Nigerian town is the other.

Your comments are nothing more than a collection of rants.

France, per your own posts, does surveillance. But Chad has effectively saved Nigeria's behind and showed Nigeria how it's done - in Nigeria.

That's a shame.

Chad...and Cameroon to the rescue.

The cowards of the Nigerian army have much to be grateful for.

http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/02/04/cameroon-troops-clash-with-fleeing-boko-haram-fighters/

Cameroon soldiers clashed with Boko Haram fighters in the border town of Fotokol on Wednesday as the Islamists fled an offensive by Chad’s army, security sources said.

The Islamists “entered this morning,” a Cameroonian security source said, after Chadian troops recaptured the Nigerian town of Gamboru just across the border. “Fighting between them and our soldiers is really intense.”

In a deserted Gamboru, Chadian forces carried out clean-up operations after entering the town on Tuesday and retaking it from Boko Haram, which seized control months ago.

“When the Chadians entered Gamboru, the Boko Haram members who were in the town and some villages fled to meet up this morning in Fotokol,” the security source said.

While a bridge separates Fotokol from Gamboru, it is possible to also cross over from surrounding villages.

Chadian jet fighters had also bombed Gamboru before its troops entered.

The regional military efforts have highlighted the failure of Nigeria’s army to stop the six-year Boko Haram insurgency. lipsrsealed

Nigeria’s military said on Tuesday the country’s sovereignty was not compromised despite the presence of Chadian ground troops and claimed to be “driving the present onslaught”.

The offensive comes at a crucial moment, with Nigeria’s presidential and parliamentary elections set for February 14.

Now fool, think.

The MNJTF has been operating in the border region with their headquarters in Baga. MNJTF AOR is the border area of both Nigeria, chad, Niger and most recently cameroun.

Gambrou is right on the border with cameroun, and in the AOR of the MNJTF which the Nigerian military leads.

While the military is pushing the insurgents from inside Nigeria, the MNJTF is also straffing them off in there AOR.

It is simple logic for any person with half a brain to understand.

No sale of T-72 tanks from South Africa to Algeria on any arms transfer log. Algeria bought T-72 tanks from Russia and Ukraine.

What a rubbish post!

Since when is a "border region" not part of a country?

Border or not, this is Nigerian territory. Therefore, Chad was operating in Nigerian territory. This is the point of the story, which is just undeniable. Who leads what is irrelevant and it goes without saying that Nigeria must nurse its baby, which is the effort against BH; and must lead. South of Beit Bridge is South African territory. Not Zimbabwean. Likewise with Gambrou. It's Nigerian territory.

This looks even worse the more one looks at it actually, actually! This is not even Nigeria's border with Chad. It's Nigeria's border with Cameroon, per your own post. So now, Chad, which has zero to do with Gambrou is doing work that Nigeria should be doing.

Pathetic, Henry. Pathetic.

Use google, fool !

"The Iraqi T-72s performed well against opposing Iranian tanks such as Chieftains and Pattons in the Iran–Iraq war. In the early stages of the war, an Iraqi battalion of T-72 tanks faced an Iranian battalion of Chieftain tanks. During the battle all Iranian tanks were destroyed, while the Iraqis suffered no losses. Iraqi T-72 had great success in the battle for Basra and the last stages of the war. 105mm M68 tank guns and TOW missiles proved ineffective against the frontal armor of Iraqi T-72s.[54][55] 60 T-72 tanks were lost during the eight years of war.[56][57] According to Iranians and Iraqis, the T-72 was the most feared tank of the Iran–Iraq War.

Kuwaiti Chieftains participated in the 1990 Iraq–Kuwait War. The Kuwaiti 35th Armored Brigade fought at the Battle of the Bridges against elements of the Iraqi Hammurabi and Medina divisions before withdrawing over the Saudi border[14] 136 Kuwaiti Chieftains were lost. Only 7 tanks managed to survive the war with Iraq."

T-72 tanks destroyed their British contemporary tank, the Chieftain tanks.

Iran-Iraq war, T-72 won the tank battles destroying battalions, not dozens, I mean battalions of Chieftain tanks.

1990 Gulf war, Iraqi T-72 tanks destroyed Kuwaiti Chieftain tanks again in large numbers.

Show me a tank battle where any American/European made 2nd generation tank deafeated T-72, show me !

The T-72 is the worst the Soviet Union ever produced.

I am happy to be daft as long as the Nigerian military remains pathetic.

So now you are reciting paperwork. Telling us who has what responsibility as per paperwork? Who cares?

The REAL work is in making BH run and disappear. As we sit her today, Chad is doing that - and doing it inside Nigeria nogal. grin

Chadian forces scored a key victory over Nigeria's Boko Haram on Tuesday, wresting control of the border town of Gamboru within hours of launching a ground offensive against the jihadist group.

Around 2,000 Chadian troops backed by armoured vehicles crossed the border into Gamboru from the Cameroonian town of Fotokol after days of clashes with the insurgents.

By Tuesday evening, the troops had taken control of the town, according to an AFP journalist in Gamboru, leaving scenes of desolation, with houses destroyed, shops gutted and trucks charred.

Why not decide which argument you are sticking to! One moment you say airstrikes by Chad, the next moment you are claiming ground offensive by Chad grin grin grin . This is simply desperation!

You have consistently failed to convince anyone based on your western news reports that do not conform with realities on the ground here! No need to decide if all is applicable.

Chad schooling nigeria in less than 48 hours. Even if chad were acting under the direct watchful eye of Jonodaft, it changes nothing. When the story is writen, it will forever say chad's gallant soldiers recaptured nigerian down form boko haram.

It will also say "nigerian soldiers fled from boko haram."

The map shows clearly that the territory of Nigeria enjoyed liberation at the hands of Chad. It is Chadian boots and Chadian weapons that liberated that land. What Nigeria as paper leader thinks it did is irrelevant. There are no awards of bravery for anything like MNJTF's paper leaders. But there are awards and recognition for soldiers who bravely liberate lands. And in Nigeria's border town of Gamboru, those soldiers are Chadian. Not Nigerian.

Nigerian soldiers are known for running from BH. Chadian soldiers will now forever be known as soldiers who made BH run from Gamboru.

There's nothing you can do about that. Nothing.

Pathetic, bra.

Gamboru has a few things going for it, and would have even more, were the Lake Chad region booming. Situated one of the trans-Africa trade routes, in the east and north of Nigeria’s northeastern state of Borno, it is on the road to Maiduguri, if you are coming from Chad or Cameroon, and Maiduguri is where the action is, up here in the impoverished and war-torn Sahel, the great stretch of Savannah and desert that makes a belt across the Continent below the Sahara.
