agaugust: 1. So what? Is a land mass the size of Britain too big for the Nigerian Army? All attacks are focused on villages which are known and can be secured. 2. Then dont u dare ever use that 130 000 number here. Even if only 60 000 are fighting troops. You outnumber Boko Haram by two to one. 3. Chad does NOT need to enter Nigeria. The mighty Nigerian army can flush Boko Haram out in the direction of the shared border, with Chad and Cameroon finishing them off on the borderline. If Nigeria was doing its job properly, not a single Chad toe-nail would have enteted Nigeria. |

saengine: Another arm chair critic. Nigerian Army are deployed to most states of the Federation including Peace-Keeping missions, so there is only a finite amount of troops available as no official full scale war was declared. Even British retired generals have said it is difficult to cover such a large area and you end up being too thinly spread. Enough SP and COIN forces have now been trained and more equipment arrived, hence this offensive which has been in the planning for a while now. This is how it is. Take it or leave it. Continue in your failed attempts to smear Nigeria. It won't get you anywhere. We are emerging out of this a stronger country and a more capable Military. Swallow it. 5 Likes |

Nigerian Army Storm Sambisa Forest Clement Ejiofor, Yesterday Email 0 67 Nigerian troops have finally bombed Boko Haram’s notorious hideout in Sambisa Forest, the Hausa service of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reports. The attack was launched as a part of actions to suppress the Boko Haram terrorists. Maj-Gen Chris Olukolade, the director of defense information, told the journalists that the army had been attacking the forest and other hideouts of the terror group since Monday night. The military used its war drones to reach some of the Boko Haram camps in the northeast but there was no information about casualties on either side. The army said that they are still dedicated to protecting the civilian population at whatever cost. Olukolade said: “We are still committed in ensuring that we degrade their ability to continue their activities and eventually eliminate them.” “The mission is on. There are no allowing terrorists anywhere. As many times as they come, it will only give us the opportunity to decimate them.” It was learnt that troops of the Nigerian army, under instruction to raid Sambisa Forest in Borno State with a view to ending the years of Boko Haram insurgency, have started bombarding the borders of the forest near Adamawa state. Sources close to the area have confirmed that aerial bombing started yesterday. According to a soldier, who is serving with the 7th Division and confirmed the information, but asked not to be named, “special forces have been mobilised from different part of the country, especially the 81st Battalion, to Yola over the weekend and the operation starts today (Monday).” “What people may have heard or seen today may not be unconnected with the operation. They have to do the bombardment of the forest starting from the fringes before the artillery troops would begin to advance. But be rest assured that before the end of this week the forest as well as many communities under the control of Boko Haram would be reclaimed”. mzilakazi: Infiltration not captured, and when you have Boko in one town, you liberate it, they run into another town, you liberate that, they run to the next town...that's how you have a long list of liberated towns and eventually Boko Haram move across border into Chad or Cameroon. saengine: Foool You move half of Nigerian army into only 3 states and expose the remaining 34 states and Abuja to infiltration by insurgents. Garrison is a standard worldwide recognized militray strategy, you cover all your land. Boko Haram has no uniform, they wear civilian clothes 99%. You can outnumber them but you cannot identify most of them the way they can identify Nigerian army uniforms, you don't know what COIN war means. LOL. Anyway its 30,000 men on both sides so we don't outnumber them in NE war zone. Chad and Cameroon have to enter Nigeria for their own good or else they will be in danger once Bokos cross border, see what Bokos did to Cameroonian civilians today, ran from Nigerian town Gamborou, entered Cameroonian town Fotokol and began slicing the throats of innocent women and children with knives. If Chad and Cameroon refuses to fight inside Nigeria, they will have Bokos spreading out like water floods inside their countries and blood will flow there! The Chadians you are praising are not helping Nigeria, they are helping themselves from becoming the new victims. If they want to chase away 20,000 killers from Zimbabwe and you were informed to cross into Zimbabwean border and block them from entering South Africa in anger, will you say no.....let the 20,000 killers enter inside South Africa first and spread around, then we will be looking for them to fight them? Whichever way you guys think and write rubbish on this forum, all intelligent military officers around the world have agreed that the best way to crush 30,000 insurgents is to move against them from all borders and squeeze them into the centre. These 3 African countries have used the best military strategy in the world, and the future generation of West and Central Africans will thank them for it. Who cares about the senseless opinion of Southies of Nairaland? We talking about winning a war for Africa against terrorism that even NATO super powers failed to defeat in Afghanistan after 13 years of hi-tech firepower war by USA and UK against Taliban . 4 Likes 2 Shares |

saengine: Dullard, Chad never goes to war without France pushing the control buttons. Permanent French military advisers live inside Chad, they give orders to Chad to go to war, that is brass command. When the rag tag Chadian puppets of France enter Nigerian soil they are under Nigerian leadership , that is field command. Brazil commands FIB troops to go war in Congo, brass HQ command, but Tanzania commands South Africa on the field of combat, field command.... get it? Fool 2 Likes |

agaugust: nonsense and delusions 1. Are you saying that your entire country is so unstable that if you dont garrison every province insurrections will start? 2. Boko Haram hide amongst civilians? Do APC's, tanks, artillery, MRAPs look civilian to you? You are no longer fighting a COIN war - you are now fighting LICW 3. There are no current or credible estimates of Boko Haram numbers 4. Yes they do have to enter Nigeria for their own good - but the difference is that they have tasted only victory whereas you have mainly tasted defeat 5. We would patrol our border, let Zimbabweans deal with Zimbabwean problems 6. Which military officers agreed this? You? 7. Again, NATO did not fail in Afghanistan. They completed their COIN program, they built a nation and an indigenous Army who now has to hold it. The Taliban have never won a battle and hold only 4 out of 300 districts. |

. Chadian army's failure caused death of 100 civilians in Cameroon ! So very sad ! The false claim by Chadian army to have wiped out Boko Haram in the Nigerian town of Gamboru was proved yesterday when the same 'wiped out' Boko fighters crossed over into Cameroon's town of Fotokol and cut the throats of 100 innocent civilians. A huge force of 2,000 Chadian soldiers with armoured vehicles failed to block escape routes of Gamboru or point surround the small town, and the Boko fighters escaped in large numbers while Chad claimed it had killed all of them. The Bokos before escaping had killed 9 and injured 21 Chadian soldiers in combat, before proceeding to Cameroon under the nose of the clueless Chadian army, to slaughter women and Children in Cameroon. The boasting army of Cameroon itself, has begun to see total failure in protecting it's citizens, the countries who laughed at Nigeria are now in full fumble and wobble mode as Nigeria pushes out Boko Haram by final offensive. May the souls of all the dead R.I.P. Amen. We mourn them all. http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/02/04/us-nigeria-violence-chad-idUSKBN0L816820150204 . 3 Likes |

DieVluit: Your repetitions are stale and boring. Try another angle, son. This is a Nigeria-led regional onslaught. What the Chadian army killed were smoked-out bokoharam members that were driven out by the major offensive by the Nigerian millitary artillery, rendering the bokos vulnerable and easy pick for the chadians. Your simple and subjective analyses renders you as a douchebag and a waste of e-time. |

lezz: I thought you had no interest in my posts! But you have enough interests to even know that there are repetitions. The hurt goes in deep, clearly. And you wish to have amother angle taken cause this one cuts in deep. So deep that you had to type a full explanatory paragraph. But you explanatory paragraph says nothing about the fact that these Chadians were fighting in Borno. What a loser country you all are. You have led your pride away so that you've even allowed another country's military to operate in your territory. How useless must you be to LEAD an effort into that situation? Clearly accepting your inability do DO YOUR JOBS! This will be pointed out UNTIL such time that your military stops shaming Africa. If that never happens, you have go live with this...son. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by lezz(m): 9:33am On Feb 05, 2015 |
DieVluit:Comprehension, research and objective analyses are clearly not part of your forté. The memorandum setting up the joint military taskforce allows each of the participating countries to pursue or engage bokoharam fighters inside member territories. Whilst Nigeria was smoking out boko boys in the fortress in sambissa they were fleeing into neighbouring countries which makes them easy picks. Which report is more credible, whose report do I believe ? I choose Reuters over any source you elect to bring. You are a perfect reflection of the mind of your country; a country with no clear foreign policy, confused in its entirety. Chasing shadows and looking for where to belong. Chew on your disappointments. We know deep down, you maggots are hoping bokos won't stop in order to slow down our economic gap over you. But you can see we still grow at 5.1 percent. With oil fallen and boko disturbances, we are still matching off with strides. Your immature press men were reporting our gpd was oil based. We have proven them wrong. You are all witnessing the emergence of a new absolute hegemony. Welcome the Black China to Africa. 3 Likes |

lezz: In other words, it is Chad's responsibility to operate inside nigeria as part of the joint force, because you couldn't do it on your own. They did operate inside Nigeria, didn't they? Or rather, they do. Don't they? Ok, thank you. Then you have said nothing. Well, outside of a whole paragraph full of rants. You've only gone and confirned that by agreement Chad can operate in Nigeria. Only after your state as a pathetic military has been accepted can such an agreement be reached. |
let me dash you a plate of peppersoup with a bottle of orijin to step it down.you are a legend bro.[/que]that was spot on. Orijinis my new liquor of love. These southies are so pathetic. Their political and business class knows and have implicitly admitted we are giants. Chanel O plays and airs Up and new Nigerian artist for free. Their companies are queuing up to come to Nigeria. Kofi Annan came to Abuja last week and told the world that the destiny of africa is in the hands of Nigeria. Southies keep dreaming and hoping their worst nightmare wont come to reality. But it happened in April 2014 when we became africa's largest economy. The only African country with a .5 trillion economy. They they started shedding HDI and infrastructural tears of delusions. We destroyed Ebola with a hitherto unknown method and we are on the verge of eliminating a 21st century style terrorist cell insurgence. Zuma hurriedly signed a defence packed with Nigeria. And proposed a quick rapid military response quad comprising Nigeria and southie. But Nigeria declined. The West and south don't mix. They have sighted our glory and wanted a part in it. When Nigeria calls, the whole of black Africa responds. When Nigeria does it, Africa knows they too can. We have been in the sun and came out unweathered. We encountered Ebola in Lagos that is bigger and congested than most African countries....Africa held her breath, the world paused and brased for the worst humanitarian crisis- we encountered oil price drop and terrerist insurgence but NIGERIA came out undone. That's black magic and power all true Africans recognise and respect. Now Nigeria has summoned Africa on a rallying call and southie-pretenders on naira land are having high bp, while their political master in Pretoria a pretending they are part of the plan. Now we have the highest concentration of billionaires on the continent. Our citizens and companies have dominated the economies and social sphere in west and central Africa. Southies know they are next. 2 Likes 1 Share |
