picki: You can get 'Neosporin antibacterial cream'. Apply 2-3times daily. Was the cause of your previous miscarriage made known to you? |

Hello Dr. .It's 45 days already and I am yet to see my period. I have done a blood pregnancy test already and the result was negative. I really confused now because I am TTC. I don't know if its because of the pregnacare conception multivitamin that I am taking because even the period before this last one took 35 days before it came. pls advice. |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by Nobody: 12:33pm On Feb 01, 2015 |
missyjay: The pregnacare is not the cause of your menstrual delay. There's an underlying factor responsible for your menstrual irregularity. It has to be investigated. How old are you? Were u ever on any contraceptive medication? Have u done hormonal assay?, pelvic scan? Any history or active case of STI? UTI? U can reply these questions thru a PM. |

Hi doc,I just came across this thread now and I must admit,I'm so excited. I'm 7weeks pregnant and feeling really feverish, went to the hospital when I was 4weeks gone and the doctor told me she can't give me any anti -malarial because it was risky. But I'm really feeling sick, dizzy and weak. The only drugs I'm taking now is pregnacare -plus,pls is there any drug or drugs u can recommend?Thank you. |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by Nobody: 9:32pm On Feb 01, 2015 |
Temibassie: Well, anti-malarial drugs are contra-indicated in in early pregnancy. But then, discretion is applied. Your doc was right about the risk in prescribing antimalarial drugs, but the risk of the untreated malaria outweighs the risk the antimalarial drug poses to the pregnancy. If the malaria lingers in your system, it could actually make you anaemic, threatening the pregnancy. The right thing for your doc to do is to place you on a mild antimalarial, and likely place you on a short dosing. See your doc tomorrow! |

Marc9: Thanks so much Doc, The cause was not made to me o. I just noticed that i was bleeding and went to hospital the next day. Scan revealed the baby was not growing well as against the foetal age. An evacuation was done immediately, same day. I have told my husband to help me buy the cream you recommended above. Pls hope its safe at this age of my pregnancy.(2months). |

Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by Nobody: 7:56pm On Feb 03, 2015 |
hopeful12: If your cycle shifted to 32days for 2 months consecutively, then you should still be ovulating. |

picki: It's a topical cream, it doesn't pose any risk to your pregnancy. |

Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by Nobody: 6:46am On Feb 05, 2015 |
hopeful12: Well, I don't have a cogent explanation for this. Maybe it has to do with vag*nal discharge. During interco*rse, the discharge could stick on his genital, and likely cause an itchy sensation afterward. But then, since tests show you both are free, then it's nothing to worry about. Tell him to always wash up after interc*urse. |

author=Goldengift post=30456857] Your low LH and progesterone likely indicate anovulation. It means you're likely not ovulating. It's a case of hormonal imbalance. How old are u? |

Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by Nobody: 6:01pm On Feb 05, 2015 |
Goldengift: Stil young. Well, I'll advise you run a pelvic scan to rule out ovarian cyst and myoma. Afterwards, you'll be placed on hormonal treatment. |

I went for my first scan today .my lmp was 1st dec.the scan revealed a bulkyuterus with gestational sac embroyonic yolk but no fetal pole.the sonographer said its anembryonic pregnancy.asked to repeat scan in 2wks.what are my chances? |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by Nobody: 7:52pm On Feb 05, 2015 |
aghaibiam: Anembryonic pregnancy results due to blighted ovum. Were you diagnosed with hormonal imbalance? And probably ovarian cyst? |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by aghaibiam(f): 8:11pm On Feb 05, 2015 |
No cyst .'Ve never had my hormonal profile taken. If its a blighted ovum what do I do?how do I expel the sac?'M so scared. |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by Nobody: 9:49pm On Feb 05, 2015 |
aghaibiam: Anembryonic pregnancy would eventually abort, and evacuation would be done to rid the womb of the remnant product. I'll advise you run hormonal assay. |
