Contradictory Statements By Obanikoro And Fayose : An Analysis

The denials by Obanikoro and Fayose raise more questions than answers. Perhaps the parties should have consulted each other, instead of coming out with contradictory statements.

Senator Obanikoro admits the conversation took place but the 'context' was misinterpreted by Sahara Reporters:

"The context of the conversation being reported by Sahara Reporters has been deliberately concocted, manipulated and misrepresented to achieve a predetermined narrative. Nowhere in the purported recording did Senator Obanikoro mention directly or indirectly a plan to rig the Ekiti State elections as the Sahara Reporters narrative suggests."

This statement essentially admits that conversation took place. Why was the actual context not clarified?

Can Senator Obanikoro clarify the context of these statements on the audio?

i. “You can’t get promotion without me sitting on top of your military council”:

This was a direct threat to the General in the audio if he refused to do their bidding. Is this professional??

ii. “[I] am not here for a tea party, am on special assignment by the President.”?

Can Senator Obanikoro clarify what this special assignment was?

iii. “That Daramola, I want him picked up in the morning”

Bimbo Daramola was the head of Fayemi campaign, Can Senator Obanikoro clarify which Daramola he was talking about and his crime?


Governor Ayo Fayose simply said: IT IS FAKE, never happened.:

One thing is clear, Governor Fayose lied

I find Fayose's defence to be rather ludicrous. There is too much taking place in that audio to be coming from a software. Did the software also translate a yoruba text into voice with all the intonations?? It is ludicrous.

Governor fayose's statement quite frankly holds no water. It is just an unintelligent denial.

From these contradictory statements, It is clear that this is not a doctored audio. It did happen. We await Senator Obanikoro's explanation of the exact context.

As things stand, The Sahara Reporters narrative still makes more sense.

On the one hand, Obanikoro has admitted that the conversations took place while Fayose has feigned ignorance of the whole account. Yeye dey smell

That is exactly why it is evidently clear that the elections in Ekiti State was rigged by the PDP with full authorization and under the instructions of top stratum of the PDP.
