Ok guys, I need your help here. Really confused here: Please make sure that your official bachelor's transcript either shows credit points according to the ECTS credit point system or you have a diploma supplement attached that explains the credit point system of your university.I don't think Nigeria uses the ECTS credit point system. And I am supposed to apply online, so how will I go about the bolded? Can someone help me explain what it is? where to get it? or if we even use the ECTS system. Thanks. |

hyfr: If you want to go through NOUN, I think I can help in that regard. The truth is, it will cost you this year which ever way you want to go. As for NOUN, go through this link and choose the study Center that is closer to you. Then if you are interested, we can continue from there. NOTE: Going through NOUN for 2 semesters will cost nothing less than 120-130K and this is not the maximum. Weigh your options and follow the one which is the best for you. Someone here had issues with admission rejection, he said he has a CGPA of 4.2 and is currently applying for TUM...and so on... Going through your story I think u should consider to add some extra info to ur application like community development projects and service; that is if u have done any. Most of these first rated schools wants to know other talents and abilities u possess. Then u made mention of about 7 F's littering ur transcript. I really want to commend u for ur sincerity, a lot of ppl will hide that part. But in the commendation, I must tell u dat am shocked and surprised u made it out of school with a CGPA of 4.2, u must be a genius. Well, since u are considering TUM and given that u are applying for courses related to ur BEng degree, I think u are better placed to gain admission now. But, if u can, I advise u take GRE, to quell any effect those littering F's may have. Am sure that won't be a problem, cos u've gat an A'brain. So get a good score and attach it. It will give the school the confidence that u are indeed smart. Then apply to about 3 or 4 more schools, to increase ur options, when its time to make choice. On the other hand, trust in God. If he has qualified u, no mortal can disqualify u. Lastly, keep up with the sincere life, I like it. May be u will be my first close pal here. I f**king like sincere and straight forward ppl. 2 Likes |

hyfr: Prescience program like pre-degree? I don't know much about the A level thing. When I weighed it, I realised it is not the best for my situation then; hence I opted for NOUN. Make google your friend by execute some findings about A level exam in Nigeria, I think you will come out with something tangible. Also, you will need to write IELTS exam. Shalom |

hyfr: No, that may not be enough so that your options will not be limited. My advise for you is to continue and completed the pre-degree, get admission into 100L; when you are done, use the transcripts. With what I'm reading about A-level Cambridge currently, it is kind of cumbersome financially and the involvement of third party. You will need to go through 3rd party even as a private candidate. hyfr: No you can't unless you get a learning Center over there and register for the exam as a private candidate. This is not what you can pass easily without attending its classes. This is German language not English. I will never support that; that is an illegality of the highest order and it is totally frowned at on this thread. Don't be too desperate, relax, plan your thing very well and commit it into the hands of the Lord. Don't build your sky scrapper on ordinary sound but rather build it on the rock. Achyever:Lubeck is a good medium sized city (by German standards) in the North of Germany and very close Hamburg. The school itself is very okay, although their major specialisation is in medical courses. I did a brief write up on Lubeck last year August, part 1 of this thread, you can find the details here https://www.nairaland.com/676173/german-embassy-visa/354#25406948 |

@hyfr @OlaoChi Regarding your request to studienkolleg: First the studienkolleg won't give you admission,if you just apply with o'level waec result,so i'll say do the following *First learn german up to B2 or more,as for all those writing A2 and some saying small german would do in any course even if your Masters is in English, Guys to heed my advice, Learn german and be fluentto a conversation level but not perfect, it would make schooling easier and also getting jobs too, i know why i am emphasizing on it and i'll show an example of Homework we are doing currently in studienkolleg *After getting the B2, now start applying to any uni of choice and don't forget the polytechnics either through uni assit (Don't ask me for the website, google it baby!) Then when you get the admission, forward it to the embassy, what many are forgetting to add in their application, write a letter of motivation and also state in the letter, you would like to receive your reply through email (pdf) i mean your admission letter. check out this homework in studienkolleg https://studienkollegw1vwl2014./ cheers 1 Like |

Almost all the schools admit NON-EU students via Uni-assist. If the school doesn't go with Uni-assist, there is a 70% chance the school is not accredited and a little bit of advice for everyone, please choose an Institute that is accredited. Nor be all certificates get Value now o. styles2009: |

And I see people here asking for tutors to teach them German on this thread. What happened to the Internet being a learning platform ? I'm in my second year and I've taken French as my second language all through the 2 years. The first year I was the 3rd top scorer and I didn't even prepare for it that much as I focused on other subjects. I know the B2 and A2 can be hard but believe me, you wouldn't learn a lot by going to some language teacher in Nigeria. We do have a French language lecturer at our college but believe me, most of the time I do not follow what she teaches, I learn what I know, online. You can go online and find free resources for learning, torrents etc. I forgot the name of this guy, he speaks about 10 languages, the way he teaches you'd get a knack of it in no time and if you put it into practice(daily) by repeating and watch German movies, you'll do just fine. And no, it's not as hard as others may have made it sound to you. 2 Likes |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Eke40seven(m): 3:38pm On Feb 07, 2015 |
DanIndia:Nope! I completely disagree with your views. The fact that a school is with or not with uni-assist doesn't make them accredited or not. Uni assist is not a statutory body in charge of admission but only an agent working on behalf of the school and student for ease of admission since Germany don't run a central admission policy like the case of JAMB in Nigeria, so every school is at liberty to prescribe method of application. DAAD, is a statutory body and their recommended schools are more dependable when accreditation is considered. I avoid uni assist like an infectious plague and if possible wouldn't touch them with a mile long bargepole due to my personal financial strategies. However, the schools I apply to are as legit as Chancellor Merkel and are in very renowned institutions internationally. Schools that should be looked at with a second thought are private institutions, some of which mostly parades as Hochschules. However, you have done great raising those points 4 Likes |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by DanIndia(m): 4:14pm On Feb 07, 2015 |
Eke40seven, I know this because I myself have found out that most of the schools that will offer you a degree and that will be globally reputed in Germany, will 100% ask you to go via Uni-Assist. Documents translations and grades conversions are not done by the Uni's. There is no way a UNI can do your documents evaluation from Nigeria and tell you they admit you on their own basis, I wouldn't advice you to do so. Nevertheless, a degree from any University is still a degree but not compared to one from a University that is renowned. You can argue with me as much as you want on this, it will only be an opinion but college accreditation will always remain a fact. How many number of schools in Germany doesn't admit their students via Uni-assist ? And by the way, what does an exam like JAMB has gotta do with this. Jamb is a matric board exam, it's just like writing an Entrance exam into a college. Uni-assist is like WES. They evaluate your documents and transfer it to your college for admission. Infact, if you speak to most schools that you want to apply to them, they'd ask you to speak to Uni-assist and if you're financially constrained, you can first look up your degree on www.anabin.de before dumping a wholesome to Uni-Assist. "The fact that a school is with or not with uni-assist doesn't make them accredited or not" This I know, I didn't mention if they weren't accredited. My comment was if there are not with Uni-Assist, there is a 70% chance they are not accredited. *30% still says they could be accredited. That's a whole lot, bro Eke40seven: 1 Like |

I'm glad that could motivate you to want to try it. Believe me, it will not be an easy journey but you'll thank me later. There are so many videos on Youtube. So many audio podcasts, and trust me on this, it is better than any tutor or teacher anyday. I was only taught French for 40 minsx3 times in a week. Some of the classes I did not even attend and I managed to ace it big time. I can say I understand 50% of french though my reading sucks a bit because of the pronunciations of some irregular words but I do just fine. Eke40seven: |
