mrmetoo1:yes that is me. Thank you. Well I don't really see how that postponement is supposed to make any difference in the acceptability of any candidate. I'm sure most supporters of either parties already have their mind set on who they want. A few new jobs done now will not win anybody over to any side least likely the opposition who sees everything new as propaganda. That can't be his reason (if any) for wanting the election postponed. If the allegations are true that some regions are being sidelined in the distribution of PVCs,then it makes sense for them to agitate for postponement. I would too if I live in a region where I've tried unsuccessfully to get my VC and can't . Who wants to be taken for a ride ? Personally I'm indifferent to the issue of postponement or carrying on as scheduled. I'm just confused as to why the opposition keeps saying it is a tactic by the ruling party to manipulate the elections when they can't even give a meaningful explanation of how that is 'supposed' to work in favor of the ruling party except of course somewhere deep down they(APC) believe truly that the regions supporting GEJ are being disenfranchised hence their call for the fast forward while the odd are still in their favor. 6 Likes 3 Shares |

No matter what the opposition and their sympathizers say or feel, JONATHAN is the president and C-I-C of the Nigerian Armed Forces for now and has the authority to direct the affairs of the country as he deems fit. That is, until he is voted out. HE IS STILL INCHARGE and his humility should not be taken for weakness. INEC, listen to Mr President . 4 Likes |

sosanova:sometimes am beginning to wonder if most GEJ supporters actually mean well for this country, why postpone an election that took over 3yrs to prepare for? Did the Bokoharam menace start today? Why is GEJ so desperate in retaining power at all cost? Nigerians are tired of him, let him go. |

The army has been dragged into politics. This is the height of insensitivity from the government. How many combatants are there in the army? That they can't assemble soldiers from the barracks to provide security. With all of these politicking happening, GEJ will end up losing more loyalist because this is classical example of tyranny. INEC cannot draw you out of your homr to come and collect PVC. They are just playing delay tactics so Jega's tenure will elapse, and then GEJ will appoint a puppet to conduct an election that may favour him. The economy has been on stand still since January, the president is unfazed with likelihood of civil unrest from his foolish politicking strategy. He had 5 years+ to be called the best democratic president, but he blew it up by allowing high level corruption in his government. I will never vote for him, wether elections get postponed till nextyear. Everybody I have met on the streets wants the election to hold, so what is their excuse? 1 Like |

adrainuche:Good talk, but the real reasons for election postponement is to end insurgency and to buy time for court to finish the case of disqualification against Buhari. More importantly, to allow the change movement to cool down and people have time to think with brain rather than emotions. 3 Likes |

...on a serious note,I wonder how postponing this election will favour Jonathan... ...Millions of registered voters are yet to collect their PVCs because of Jega's incompetence in its distribution yet APC is insisting that elections should not be postponed for a few weeks at least. I am almost sure that the loopsided distribution is in their favour..very dogdy party indeed...change my left foot! 2 Likes |

What I don't understand is the noise people are making about this postponement. They aren't thinking of postponing indefintely,or canceling it;it's being done for security purpose. Moreover, over 20 million Nigerians haven't gotten their PVC;that alone can render the election useless. Yes,not everybody with PVC would vote but let people collect their cards. Elections can still be held in April so I see no reason why we should be in a rush to go to the polls, despite all the lapses that abound. If INEC were serious, they would have sorted this thing out long time ago. It's been 4 yrs since they registered voters;how come it took them this long to produce the PVCs? 1 Like |

searider:Jega and APC are jokers. How does Jega explain over 80% PVC collection in North East ravaged by insurgency while most of the southern states are still grappling with less than 50% collection? The last time I checked this mooted postponement falls within the provision of the Electoral Act. What is Jega and APC getting at? 2 Likes |
