Seriously? You should know he is not right. What if she was raped and got pregnant, What if the father of her child died OR She was abandoned by the father of her child? does that mean their foolish women? Like that friend of yours is very judgemental

You know he definately wasn't referring to rape cases and as for the latter that should come under the part that she got pregnant knowingly.

In most parts of the East, having a child oitside wedlock is frowned on. The young girl is deemed wayward.
She lives with this stigma. And it becomes difficult for her to get a husband. Who wants a certified "second hand" wife?? Most suitors, on finding out she's had a child, either deserts her on his own or us pressurized by family members to do so.
Now, she realizes time is not on her side and decides to do something.

My question: Should a young woman who's had a child outside wedlock, lie to her suitor about it. Lying could be by not saying anything about it to him. I know what'll happen if he finds out but I need your opinions here.
.
Yes she should. Like you said, no one wants second hand goods. A man that is willing to marry you despite you being a single mother must really love you, as in, the love must be strong. If you don't think the love is strong enough then lie to him. Don't mention anything about the child to him. Hide the child from him. By the time he finds out (and he will - truth and children are hard to hide) it will be too late. He would have married you already.

Of course this will make him very angry and since the child is not going to just fade away and will remain a life long reminder of your deceit/lies to him, he will grow to hate you with all his heart. He will probably loathe seeing you in his house and might even begin to beat you out of sheer hatred. Your marriage will degenerate to a continuum of quarrels and bickering and frustrations.

But all that doesn't matter because you would already be his wife and legally married. Even if he choses to divorce you later at least people will know you got married legally at least once in your miserable life.

I don't understand why a woman should have a child outside wedlock but I can understand her having a child before wedlock . Keeping or lieing about your own child before the man you intend to marry is bad. You should let him know you have a child and if he loves you, he will go ahead. If he doesn't, he will withdraw. But going outside marriage to have a child for someone other than your husband is quite insane, wicked and selfish. What type of infidelity or adultery is that?

He also told you those "wise" girls who are sexually active and don't get pregnant are mostly on contraceptives or abort whenever the need arises? I say he's so very wrong!!

for example,a girl gets pregnant for a guy that does not want to take responsibility and probably the guy abscounds cheesy and the lady has no choice than to keep the pregnancy and deliver the baby. After putting to bed, her family decides to take care of the baby while she gets her life back on track probably by going back to school or going to another city to look for work then she meets someone new, and the new guy is ready to take their relationship to the next level by marrying her, is there anything wrong in the girl opening up about her past life and informing her to be husband about her child? (that is what i call a child before wedlock which is still understandable cuz things did not work out well with her former lover) while having a child after wedlock is getting married to someoine and still going back to meet your former Boyfriends to sleep with you all because your husband does not know how to do the thing well on bed. In the process of playing the match you now got pregnant and decide to rope it on your not too smart husband. Then maybe after some years, you have a misunderstanding with him, you now decide to hurt him by saying he is not the biological father of his child (is that not wickedness) These things happen alot

I was talking about the first case. Besides what woman in the right frame of mind will tell her husband he's not the father of her child or children Most times, the husband doesn't know.!

Ok.

Well both of them are still kids gotten outside wedlock whether before or during the marriage.

But I understand what you mean now.

good girls get pregnant, bad girls get pregnant too and terminate it. Ironically, the bad girls are called good girls and the good ones bad.

Chances are that 4 in 10 sexually active girls have gotten pregnant but only about one of them get to keep the pregnancy. As it is, it would be easier for me to get married to a single mom than a non-virgin.

Even as a guy, single girls tend to maintain a distance once I tell them I am a father even when I don't have the child with me, so it is understandable what the ladies pass through. But relationships built on lies are already headed for the rocks. My friends think I am stupid for telling every girl I meet I already have a child, but I just can't help it. One of the first things anybody would know about me after knowing my name is that I have an adorable daughter and it is with such glee that tells you that you should never make the mistake of asking me to choose between both of you. It is easier for me to deny my existence than to deny I have her.

Any guy that loves a woman with a child outside wedlock should be ready to love she and her child that should be the criteria for such a lady,so the question of hiding it won't come up at alll!!!!!

No man or woman is worth denying your flesh and blood for. I wouldn't even worry about marriage or dating as I would already have the best gift out of marriage.

Having a kid is the only reason I want to marry, I enjoy being single other wise.

True that. But apart from kids, there are other things you get in marriage; like companionship.

You're very admirable. Would you consider dating a woman with a child?

Not all children belonging to single mothers were born out of wedlock. "Wedlock"... such an odd word undecided

Why not if I find other qualities of hers endearing.
afterall another woman out there has a child by me and for all I care, she was a good girl who didn't fall to the pressure all around her to "save face" and commit murder.
Now a beautiful queen has been born. It is just unfortunate that the pressures became so unbearable that our remaining together became impossible. But that doesn't mean I would find it funny with anyone who denigrate her person for supposedly. Having a child before marriage.

That's a good outlook, most probably borne out of experience. What I hate about this wedlock, virgin, chaste, holier-than-thou nonsense is it creates a person's fervent virtue they'd hold to judge others. This is a poor man's way of creating a superiority complex/ moral hierarchy. Pathetic. Even Jesus gave prostitutes a chance.
