Hello nairaland mamas and papas

So I had my lo 2 weeks ago @ medical center Arlington, the dr induced me @ 37 weeks.
The nurses were excellent labor and delivery went smoothly. Left the hospital 2 days later and got the birth cert the following day. Got my zero balance and social security number yesterday. But I got a bill from pediatric medical group does any1 know about this?.

Yes I got that bill of $440last year October when I gave birth in Elpaso. The reason you got that bill was because your pediatrician was not available at the time of birth so the hospital had to provide one for you. What you would is to call them and inform them that you are a self paying patient and they will automatically ask you to pay half which is $220 within 20 days from which the bill was printed.

I am currently in dr Mbagwus office but he is not here yet. So far his nurses are attending to me okay and giving me tips on free baby showers at hospitals but not met him yet. I am told he offers accommodation as well so I will try ask him for you guys interested. Seems I might change hospital sef as the nurses just gave me info on the other hospital he is affiliated to. 2700 for vaginal and it includes epidural already o and paediAtrician. I can't believe it yet but will visit the two hospitals and make up my mind.

Thats great. Thanks for the effort

Pardon me everyone (Nairalanders) in the house.
To GOD be the Glory, I had my daughter safely in ElPaso Texas, It was fun, because I had it naturally after CS in my first pregnancy. My doctor in Naija told me is not possible, but lo and behold GOD made it possible in Elpaso. My daughter US passport & birth certificate was delivered to my apartment this week.
I love you all

@Ezemistic, please can you provide more details. How much did it cost in total and is there an option for self paying patients. A breakdown would really be appreciated. Am interested in a VBAC. Thanks

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by drafrican: 7:39pm On Feb 11, 2015
A baby can be circumcised anytime even at 40 yrs but it's easier for them to cope with the pain as babies so it's useally done btw day 8-15 after birth

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by lilyfranklin: 9:10pm On Feb 11, 2015
Hello house,
Ok like seriously I just landed El paso via Houston without stress. grin the Cbp asked the normal questions; why are you here? Why did you choose El paso? How long are you staying? What do you do for a living? Did you inform the VO that you will be coming for birthing? I answered comfortably and was even ready to show my documents which she didn't bother with. Didn't carry any food, but went to secondary inspection area to declare my cash which was way over 10k. And that was me been stamped in for 6 months. Now chilling in intown suites waiting for baby. Thanks everyone for your kind contributions, it helped. ALWAYS BE TRUTHFUL, THAT'S ALL THEY NEED (I guess).

Abeg help with Vbac doctors let me see if I will change doctor. Thanks.

Hi all,

This is my first post here and have been a silent reader. You all are doing a great job I must confess. I actually got my visa which was meant for vacation with my family then I decided to use it for birthing purpose. I googled the above topic and came up with this thread, read it through and really learnt from it. I travelled via KLM on Sunday night and arrived Boston on Monday evening with my 2year old son after having a stopover at Amsterdam. Spent 20 hours to get to Boston from Nigeria. I feel I need to give back because I also gained from other people's poe experiences.

As per usual practice, I thought to share, my husband and son went to the US embassy in Lagos for my son's visa today (hubby already did his through dropbox).

He said the interview lasted less than 10mins, VO asked if I had a doctor and if we had enough money to cover all the bills. Advised him that we should keep all receipts and collect letter of zero balance cos i'll need to show them when I renew my visa.

That was it, approved!

@Sayoberry.....will you kip kwiet? grin . Who am I to say they ain't good at it. Kontunu. Dia ris God.

@ Mabel.....We don't just feel like spending $300 on circumcision in US . Especially since we don't have extra hands to cater for the baby after the operation. Lots of doctors including Hyunn and Baba will do a good job. Just got back home ,baby did it already and he is good.

@ Tvegas and any other NairaLander that has used Dr Fagbohun at Oakbend, does the 2,200usd he charges does he have a registration fee? I read from here that there is an initial visit fee of 150usd?

Mrsmo and Belfy have done justice to your question. It's $2,220 after all the discount.
