Don't judge me on my days as Military Ruler, this is democracy — Buhari General Muhammadu Buhari of the APC spoke on Christiane Amanpour’s programme on CNN, saying it’s unfair to judge him today by his antecedents in 1984 when he was a military head of state. The APC presidential candidate said it would be harsh to judge him against his record as a military dictator in a democratic setting just as he welcomed President Olusegun Obasanjo’s endorsement. Speaking on a live CNN interview anchored by Amanpour, he affirmed that the Boko Haram insurgency would be routed by his administration through blocking corruption and other leakages. Tasked that Nigerians were faced with the difficult option of choosing between a failed president and a former military dictator with a bad human rights record, Buhari said: “All those things you mentioned were done under military administration; if we did not suspend the constitution then, it would have been difficult for us to operate under those circumstances. So I do not think I should be judged as an individual for those things that happened then.” Welcoming the endorsement of President Obasanjo, he said: “Well it will certainly bring more supporters to us and more confidence for those who were sitting on the fence because General Obasanjo is highly respected and as far as the nation is concerned, there is no issue that can be deliberated upon without people seeking his opinion.” Describing the shift of the election dates as unfortunate, Buhari said: “That is a disappointment because the presentation made by the INEC was that they were ready to conduct the elections on the date chosen a year ago. And for them to be forced virtually by the military that they cannot guarantee the safety of their workers and shift it by six weeks.

If he had overthrown a military regime then that will be different but the goat overthrew a duly elected civillian government and even justified it on the basis of "koworption" and when asked of a transition time table back to civilian rule he stated that Nigerians where not capable of electing credible politicians into office and as such he had no plans for a return to democracy. Can you beat that! Buhari was 41 when he overthrew Shagari not 18. His actions where well thought out and planned. He knew the repercautions of his actions if he failed but his blind ambition to rule made him go Ahead still. Nigerians should not be fooled by this man. Once a despot always a despot! 2 Likes |

Ever wondered why the media (foreign and local) have carefully and consciously continued to make GMB appear a Saint/Messiah and silent on the Dictator and Power usurper he really is? Ever wondered why the body language of the opposition and their words continue to speak and insinuate violence, coup...is this what they really are? Ever wondered why APC suddenly have solution to all our problems but decided to keep it hidden all the while we suffered...do they really care? Ever wondered why after declaring he will never contest for elective position again to give way for younger generation to take over, GMB never volunteered to become EFCC boss...if corruption is really his pain all these years? Ever wondered why APC has refused to acknowledge that Boko Haram and Terrorism is in fact a global issue but rather condemned as disgrace the deployment of AU forces, yet fail to point out that the US and other world powers has been battling terrorism with little success...do they really understand? Ever wondered why the media suddenly make the postponement of this election seem like GEJ has in fact committed a coup against GMB...lol...they are so sure of victory aren't they? Ever wondered why APC and the foreign media have refused to give GEJ credit for his history of allowing free and fair elections...they are not used to democracy are they? Ever wondered why APC see absolutely nothing good in GEJ and his government...they must be bad belle people, aren't they? lol #TeamGEJ #AnotherGEJVolnteer #SilentMajority #GEJGodwin 7 Likes |

Demogini Buhari? You wouldn't have got the balls to say that again. What came over your mind when you truncated the previous civilian rule? We can't forget in a hurry the 'Militocracy' of OBJ where he will carryout and act before seeking approval of The NASS. Let our NASS fight and come out with a common front before action by the Executive. It pays. 1 Like |

x9ja1960: Christiana Ampour is a witch. Her reportage in Libya and interview of Ghaddafi which portrayed Gaddafi as a crazy tyrant not in touch with reality was what swayed western audiences to allow NATO to assist the rebels. Look how that turned out for Libya. I have since stopped watching CNN, bbc and al Jazeera. They are all propaganda outlets for the west. 2 Likes |

That is common sense, While Jerry Rawlings, a military head of state of Ghana in 1982 was purging ghana of the nations looters by going on a killing spree of hundreds of them, Buhari was trying looters in Nigeria and putting them in jail. Jerry rawlings later transited to a civilian leader and is still one of the most loved Ghanian president the country ever had. Military rule is governed by decrees, and force is the name of the game. |

Christiane Amanpour really messed up that tyrant buhari finish... Now the whole world know who truly they are dealing with, he'll never be Nigeria's president, mark my words. The west will even encourage the PDP to rig the elections if that's what it'll take. I'll prefer a 'clueless' President who has passion for the people and obey the rule of law any day than a blood thirsty, demonic, jihadist, tyrannical TERRORIST of a buhari. GEJ TILL 2019. |
