If the visas are expired, why are you so desparate to get the passport back?
Something does not add up here in the story.

You will have to question officials at Nigerian authorities to see if it can be returned.
Rember if UKBA have said that fraud is involved then Nigerian police could become involved when you go to collect the passport,
are you ready for that?

So what are you implying?that he let the embassy have the passport or what?whatever the case maybe they don't have the right to hold on to his passport be it expired or fake even. They will have to hand it over to the relevant authority who will in then contact the applicant if need be.

is that supposed to be a bad thing, did you read the message at all
No, it is not supposed to be a bad thing to ask a question, but it is bad to think that you are the only one who is asking for the list of documents and therefore expecting it to be listed for you only.
Sure, i read the "message" and i was disappointed that you did not understand that if i get a penny each time a person asks for the list of documents, i would be a billionaire by now, and every page in this forum would be with the document lists.

Thank you
justwise:

He needs to write the embassy first to know if it has been sent to the authorities, if yes then he has to visit the immigration office to request for it. Its up to them to decide whether to hand it over to him or not.

Good afternoon @justwise, My brother was refused visa and was told he has limited right to appeal. He was given ten years ban because the date of arrival stamped here in MM airport is different from the official date recorded by the commission. However, we noticed that his old passport ( the one that contained a 6 month visa and two 2 year visa, all expired) was not returned. Only the renewed passport was returned. Here is my question, Do they have the right to withhold the passport. Thanks

Sorry if you dont mind my asking how did he get a different date at MM airport stamped as against official date recorded by the commission?

There is a line between Anger and Displeasure, please, find the line and use either word appropriately.
You have an adage that says "silence is the best answer for a fool", so, i think i was being considerate to have replied rather than keeping silent like others who saw the post and kept silent.
Well, i don't always have to ignore undesired questions, sometimes, I exercise my rights to express my feelings.

You came to attack me because, you too are with similar mindset, you expect people to do the unnecessary hard work of repeatedly writing the list of documents for every individual like you:

In all fairness i actually see reason with @vicjustice. Thing is if one looks carefully through the thread i dare say its pretty explanatory on most of these questions being raised again.
ill give you two scenarios ok three.
in my own case i took time to read through the whole thread whilst getting my application set. Got all the required stuff and processes based on what i gathered from the thread. i was initially refused not cos i didnt get it right but cos the ECO actually was just being . . . let me not talk as it has been resolved.
Anyway when this was the case my cousin advised to get a lawyer who was in the uk to follow through the process of getting the decision changed and all that. i came back here while trying to do that and was advised by @Justwise on the issue even with the anger and all in me then, he still managed to keep a calm demeanor and encouraged me on the steps to take even when i came out sounding completely ignorant on some issues. You know what? i followed his counsel and voila i got the visa meanwhile the uk lawyer was still talking about handling God knows what and telling me what it would cost.

So heres my advice people, ive read loads of success stories on this thread and i myself am an example. i know its quite a number of pages but seriously if you want something bad enough i dont think reading to know how to go about it should be that much of an issue and to me this thread pretty much covers it with plenty case studies. You know sometimes i pray the embassy staff dont even make the mistake of coming to the thread and understand the 'odu' we get here for free...but then again what do i know?

So people please dont get upset with @vicjustice hes actually right to be upset being asked certain questions that already had been dealt with (albeit severally) when actually he could be dealing with new ones to improve the thread qualitatively just cos they wouldnt take time to read things through.

You should show some spending money, but may be not the whole cost of the trip.
A question how old are you?
You WILL have to show very good "ties to home" to prove that you will return home after the visit.
Letter from employer, landed property, family , children all help.

To God be the glory, I got our family tourist uk visa today. I say thank you to all the gurus in the house, this is my 1st UK visa application, and God made it possible.

I want to say a special thank you to Patos 231 cos of the encouragement I got tru his post about UKVI approval letter. I submitted on the 4th of Feb and got a message on d 10th frm teleperformance that my visa application has been assessed and a decision reached. I lost hope immediately cos I did not get approval mail from UKVI but picked up again after reading patos231, ironbender and others post on such mail. After receiving the application ready for collection mail, my husband went to pick it up, and behold we all got our visa. For those that dint get approval mail, never loose hope, trust in God, it's actually sent randomly, I dint get it but tanks to God, got my visa

There was a case here last year.
A regular poster offering advice to people and talking big of church going and prayer.
The visa officer recognised him from his posts on hereand talk of prayers to God.
He had FAKE documents!
He thought God would help him but the visa officer spotted him!

Is loosing money not a harm, especially for someone who earns less than 50k?

I have sent them an email as advised. Now awaiting update from them
Thank you Lexusgs430
Although it took them nearly about a week to reply my mail and apologizing for the delay. We have finally received the documents back with positive outcome. However, Teleperformance failed to notify us the documents were up for collection even though we paid for the SMS service.
