Why Does Soup Taste Better After A Day Or Two? by Nobody: 5:26am On Feb 18, 2015 |
Two days ago, my wife cooked a pot of Okro soup and it was sweet but nothing special. Since then it has been sitting on the cooker and we have been warming it daily. This evening after two days, I tasted it and it was so good, even better than when first cooked. I have noticed the same for other kinds of soups. Why is this so? 1 Like |

It taste better cause it is getting bad and fermenting. The content are being broken by the good microbes so it makes you enjoy richer enzyme taste. But, your food is no longer alive the second and third warming with fire or heat, take note. Prepare what can be finished at a table or so, and not an evalasting pot. Its hard tho but thats the best practise. 2 Likes |

SAMBARRY:Your stomach is keeping a residual gas that is by-product of digestion of the egusi going on in your duodenum. As you goof, the brain picks the signal and interpret the feedback as repulse because it does not please you, then you start secreting saliva to help you evacuate the repulsive tenant. |

absoluteSuccess:Gbam. You have said how e use to do me gan gan. It will now be making me spit excessively and then my saliva is slimy. So what's the solution does it mean my body doesn't like egusi or what? |
Re: Why Does Soup Taste Better After A Day Or Two? by absoluteSuccess: 12:13pm On Feb 18, 2015 |
SAMBARRY:Your brain has stored up that repulsive-response to Egusi in such a way that once you remember you just ate Egusi, the tot is enough to create internal sensation repulsive to you, then you start struggling not to throw up. Your system abhor it maybe you have seen a rotten egusi as a kid in a way you hated most, you may have forgotten all about the shock but your brain has not. |

absoluteSuccess:o really. I notice that just the smell of egusi will make me start belching and perceiving spoilt egusi will make my stomach start turning. Does it mean I cannot eat egusi again? |

SAMBARRY:Nooo, it depends on your ability to persuade yourself. But if you can't then live Egusi alone, your chemistry dislike it: one man's meal is another man's poison. |

That's because the flavors have had more time to develop and intensify. They get deeper and bolder with time. It happens with soups and stews and other kinds of meals. |
