No my dear! i dont see it that way. Rather he was trying to make sure that Nigeria stays one! giving peace and unity a chance.

Nigeria was never one in the first place and neither did the north or the west wanted one fake UNITED nigeria. Only Zik and his fellow olori pelebe were for this dumb contraption hoping that they will be able to marginalise the illiterate northerners in their region.

The ibos were so eager to form one nigeria with the mallams who slaughtered them in 1945 and again in 1953 that Dr. Zik didn't mind playing lackey to Tafawa balewa- a mere grade II teacher in the 1st Republic. Zik even objected to a secession clause been incuded into our constitution, then.

Unfortunately for Zik and his greedy folks, the Sardunna put paid to their hegemonic ambition in his land by promulgating the Northernisation policy in 1964 hence the guy had to be snuffed out by the Jan 15th coupists who incidentally, turned out to be mainly, olori pelebes!

Good! A pedant! Well paragraph one was rubbish and it was made so by just the word "contraption". Contraption is a scienctific word and its meaning in no way fits what the information you are trying to pass across.

Zik did not have a PhD. His doctorate was honorary. Hence GEJ is the first and only PhD holder president of Nigeria. This is just for your information alone as it does not take anything away from Zik. Thanks

Though I respect this baba but the relegation he caused we southerners alltogether in 1957 is still hunting we present day generations.
How I wished he acted the way Awolowo did instead and jointly save us from the whips of systemized modern slavery those Arrogant Cows put us through for over 40yrs.

what do you know. Does the number of platforms across the country equate progress in a country. For your information then was minded then good old days. Naira was stable. The army was reliable. No boko haram. No oil. Agriculture was the boom then. There was low level of job scarcity. E cetera.

Thank you!!!

It was obvious right from the onset that, North and South Nigeria can never form a country. Even the sardunna alluded to that much when he cautioned zik that we should take cognizance of our DIFFERENCES and DIVERSITIES first before considering the option of such a union as been touted by zik and his co-conspirators in the fake bus they cleverly tagged, "nationalism". However zik interjected, waving off the man’s genuine concern for his people well-being with the lame excuse that, we should just form the union and in due course, everything else will fall into his rightful place/s.

Unfortunately, the sardunna was right as 55 years after the fact, the same differences and diversities, the man warned us about still remains the main albatross to our societal development.

There is no competition here except of course, in your deluded mind. Why are you guys always trying to compete with the yorubas? We no send you. Do you thing and we do ours, simple! However, my premise still remains intact despite your lame attempt at diversion. Zik should not have s.u.c.ked up to the mallams at the time in question. He should just have let them be instead of kowtowing to them simply to form an obvious fake nation. Am certain each region would have been all the more better for it but for zik and his people's myopic greed, we are where we are now in the 21st century, still perambulating.
