Actually I thought it will be a nice idea if every book lover assemble here and suggest amazing books that they've read to other book lovers like them regardless of their disciplines. If you need books to read that will make you ace your exams in school or generally improve you in a particular skill or topic, you can ask. A book lover will answer you. In the same vein you can suggest books to people. The overriding aim is to help each other become a better version of ourselves through the noble act of reading and researching. And less I forget, before or after commenting, let us all adopt this hashtag '#fortheloveofbooks'. It will be our identity unique to this specific group. Thanks. 17 Likes |

#fortheloveofbooks Whether you are in Undergraduate level or postgraduate, am sure we can help each other. Personally I grew up to see Kotler as the father of marketing and his book is still the most impactful. Accounting has a lot of great books which I will share the ones I like most ranging from our ubiquitous FAMS for financial accounting to the 'bible' Frank wood. Horgren et al and Maher are my picks for Cost accounting(foreign). Am sure there are other ones. That's why you can suggest yours too. 1 Like |

#fortheloveofbooks Literature is life!!!never forget 'ROMEO and JULIET' the reckless lovers !risk family honour, belittle death just to b together and they live 'happily hereafter' Talk about 'MACBETH' the witches, ma favourite characters (3wierd sisters) are prophets who hail Macbeth, the general , early in the play, and prophesy his ascent to king. Upon killing the king and ascending the throne of Scotland, Macbeth hears them ambiguously prophesy his eventual downfall. The darkly contradictory witches, their "filthy" trappings and supernatural activities, all set an ominous tone for the play. I kinda like dose witches I never forget you sire Shakespeare!the writer that is a jealous idol!he never allows distraction wen passing his messages or you miss it all :-# 3 Likes |

Finished reading an American Classic, The Catcher in the Rye. I had to force myself to finish that book, it was a total snoozefest. Wonder what the hype was all about. Immediately deleted it from my phone when I was through. Memoirs of a Geisha was really entertaining. Enjoyed it. 1 Like 1 Share |

#fortheloveofbooks A time to kill by John Grisham will appeal more to lawyers and those that loves crime best sellers.... @kunmi how I dread shakespeare. I read twelfth night and was like 'what the hell is this man talking about'!. Maybe cos of his usage of ancient English. Took a literature student to explain to me. I see him the way i see the Nigerian Soyinka. They are complicated writers. 3 Likes |

#fortheloveofbooks. I think ds thread is da bomb. Fellas lets go; from TOM CLANCY'S Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, Hunt for red october, Threat Vector, Locked On and Patriot games to Geoff Wolak's K2 (frm part 1 to 6 z more than 1000 pages), Canuck and Drake tending to Ted Dekker's Eyes wide Open, Sovereign, OBSESSED then James Hardley Chase's Knock Knock who's there, Hit and run, No business of mine upto Chris Ryan's AGENT 21, Strike Back mixed with Stephen sth's Monster and of cos Bourne Series (Betrayal, Identity etc). Lets continue with Solomon's Mine, Obama's Audacity of hope, ANIMAL FARM, GODFATHER, GODFATHER, GODFATHER, GODFATHER. OMG GODFATHER. N/B some of d novels cnt b downloaded for now (I tried, esp. Dekker n it cost abt N2500.00). Almost forgot, Dan Brown (actually reading his Angels and Demons now) DA VINCI CODE, (pronounce d name well abeg) and Lost Symbol upto MACBETH, ROBINSON CROSOE, James Ene Henshaw's THIS IS OUR CHANCE (actually acted ds one and my Literature teacher 'monikered me' Bambulu), cnt rember some for now, but incase anybody has the movie:24 in pdf, pls kindly share. Read em all n b detective conscious. Happy day ahead nairalanders. Memoirs of a Geisha is interesting but the sex scenes though matured and exposing the Japanese culture in a uniqie way is meant for strong minds. George's book of Ice and fire is too cool, on it now (book 3/season 3). 4 Likes 2 Shares |
