Does Ndigbo Have A Future With The Reasoning Of Igbo Youths Of Today?part 1 by Tundeajani(m): 6:36pm On Feb 22, 2015 |
i am one who believes in intelligent argument, reason why i have mellowed down a bit on this section as a result of the warped and illogical contributions of monikers on both sides of the divivide i.e apc and pdp whose trade in stock of false stories and propaganda has made me an onlooker. A particular event brought up this discuss.it happened yesterday that i was in a group of igbo youths and we were discussing the current visitation of gej to the southwest states. As usual they were on the forefront agian making noise insulting yorubas and hausas and proclaiming the gej mantra.as is the case on nairaland the words were so high in defence of the president.buhari is devil.okorochas is an efulefu.yorubas are dirty.jonathan must win. As weird and irrational and short sighted their submissions were, deep down me some questions were raging..but i am sure the dudes there i would ask would still rant their noise of bigotry even if i pose it to them that; 1.their superstar gej is currently begging the yorubas the supposed dirty people and looking for all means even if it entails prostratin for a yoruba kid. 2.the hausas they are insulting even if jonathan wins will surely take over in 2019 and igbos can do nothing to change it. 3.they the noise makers are strategically beign schemed never to take power till they stop their any government in power and take a stand irrespective of any tribal card their leaders may take for personal benefits. 4.that if jonathan wins the second niger bridge will remain in the papers as it is now. 5.that whethre apc wins or not the yorubas have successfully put up a stride that will make themselves benefit even if apc looses.the massive projects in yoruba lands currently by gej will guarantee conclusively i ask if the future of the igbo dream is safe with all this bigot whose sense of reasoning has beign damaged by extreme tribalism and political opportunism.i ask if the ndigbo dream is safe with youths who reason like those igbos of today? 2 Likes |

Seriously, this thread is uncalled for. It's really none of your business... let everyone fight for what they believe in... leave them to stick to what they want.. them insulting the Yorubas or Hausas wouldn't change anything about you or anyone out there. You have just opened another avenue for every Tom Dick and Harry to come and start spitting fire and brinestone not leaving behind all the derogotary words they can think of on the Yoruba people and they would be justified cos you called for it. Can't you just leave them alone already? 13 Likes |

NO THEY DONT. The youth of the SE have been dumbed down too badly by their parents and local politicians. Parochialism and provinciality is stealing their future. Yet this is a globalised generation that has to compete not just with tribes in Nigeria alone but other nationalities in a global village. The worst regime doing this to them is Good luck Jonathan's. Imagine the narrative that ignores the interest of other tribes and hopes by some miracle deliver power on a platter of gold to the east, how does that happen?. Northerners don't matter, middle belt and Ibos votes alone will win elections, how does that happen?. 6 Likes |

When the Igbo support an easterner, you call them tribalist, when the Igbos doesnt support theirs you say they hate each and they are not one. Some say why cant we support Chekwas, i ask the Yorubas why cant they support Remi of KOWA. Our future isnt your business, face your people. The main reason the Yorubas are supporting Buhari is because of osinbajo, another reason is because gej didnt put the yoruba in any envy-able position. Deep down within you,you know the truth. Jonathan has done more for the igbos and Nigeria more than any other president. Under him an igbo man was head of military which no other person did. He almost anihilated boko haram, the northerners screamed genocide and gej was forced to remove him. He gave the igbos an international airport,i can now travel 4m enugu to london. He reconstructed many federal roads in d east,he privatised power and laid the foundation 4 constant electricity, his automotive policy has created many jobs in the southeast wit innoson and shemak, with their multiplier effect, he gave us a new federal university, the second niger brigde is under construction. Now leme ask you? What did obasanjo do in his 8yrs in office? I now travel to owerri 4m lagos with ease,5hrs journey. Lagos ibadan that your grand father obasanjo could not do jonathan is doing it. Ore benin road, is amazing, one could actually go 200km per hour on that road, onitsha owerri is wow. So pls allow the igbos vote who they wants too cos it aint ur business. And again, talking about the presidency, the north has been der 4 38yrs how developed are they? What about the southwest? Apart 4m lagos wat again? Have you been to anambra of recent, owerri,or enugu? Have u checked the latest literacy rate statistics, state with the highest number of professors, highest SAN, highest education, lowest poverty rate? it might surprise you the too know the igbos are ahead, even without the presidential position. FACE YOUR PEOPLE AND LEAVE THE IGBOS ALONE. 41 Likes 8 Shares |

You are bigoted, i was also given point about Jonathan's achievement and the only thing one of the guy could say is Igbo's are stupid and the rant that they would never be president same as you are just saying. Why is it ok that majority of northerners would support Buhari and it is bad for most Igbos to support Jonathan. The question should be, why do they appeal to a certain kind of group. That is the beauty of democracy, Obama is the president of USA because he appealed more to Blacks and non-white americans and they voted him in compared to his republican opponent. In Ukraine the former president was voted in by his section of the country but his opposition from the other part ousted him from office and we know how that country is fairing today. Most People in the eastern region see him as someone that has their interest in heart and they are ready to stick with him. 4 Likes 1 Share |

I don't know what's the problem of some yorubas on nairaland. The habit of always advising igbos is becoming to much. Aside Lagos, there's no where in SW that matches the least state in the SE. It is never a problem when a Yoruba or Hausa supports Buhari, but it's a problem when an Easterner supports GEJ. Hypocrisy and tribalism is really disturbing these set of Yorubas here. IDeyNL:I agree 100% about advising Eboes this is uncalled for. However Most Yoruba states are ahead of the SE economically. There is no need for empty Chest beating, after Lagos Ogun state is the Most industrialized in Nigeria . This is a well established fact so I do not know by what measure you keep boasting about the SE . Tell us HOW MANY STATES IN SE MATCH OGUN STATE in INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE In terms of GDP the SW is miles ahead so please stop exposing yourself to ridicule. next thing you will tell us Onitsha market is where America buys drones 7 Likes |

Correction. My beloved brother,I think its better to worry about your own future than to be so concerned about people who do not care whether you exist or not. The Nigerian govt screws us equally irespective of tribe ,gender or religion. The north ruled for over 30 yrs but today they are still asking for affirmative action. Obasanjo ruled for 8 yrs as a civilian president but your life isnt better off than it was before he came to power.Tunde, what did Obasanjo do for you or someone you know? So Tunde, leave the igbos and their blind love for Jonathan. They love him for a reason , not because he has done so much for them, but more than every other president,he has shown positive neutrality in their affairs. Unlike Obasanjo, who was either sponsoring renegades to burn down Anambra state, or previous military regimes who balkanized a lot of their land due to the politics of oil and population. If I were you,I'd be asking myself, apart from a few south west politicians who will be empowered if Buhari wins, what do I or my family stand to gain from a Buhari govt? Your answer is as good as mine, they screw us equally, so leave the igbos to play their AGIP politics.Cos either way,we all will still be screwed. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Beamborla: Nigeria education has totally failed going by your response to this political analysis. What was the purpose of those debates during our secondary school days? These simple questions threw to us by the Op only need who knows much about Nigeria politics to address those questions one after d other without resulting to tribal bashing. If any Igbo, Hausa or Ijaw man comes here to ask questions about Yoruba contributions to Nigeria politics since 1960 with an open mind like this Op, why shld I result to tribal bashing when I know that I have read extensively about Nigeria politics right from 60s till date and the answers to his questions are right there in my pocket(my pen/finger to type with)? Must every political questions be viewed from tribal perspective? The only person that would find these questions offensive or Igbo bashing are these village based Mushkins. All these questions were the questions that I have equally asked myself several times in recent months but couldn't find answers to and coming to Nairaland to ask these questions from others who might be able to analysis and provide reasonable answers has now become or perceived to be an act of tribal bashing. We all knew how much Igbos were demanding for a shot at Presidency before Jonathan became Nigeria president. And as political calculations were then, it would have been difficult for PDP not to present Igbo man from the south as Presidential candidate after Yar Adua tenure....................It's just a political mathematics Right from 2014 till date, everything has politically changed; In 2015, it ll be a suicide mission to present an Igbo man as a candidate for any national political party like APC and PDP cos Hausas/Fulanis/Kanuris and Yorubas will not vote for such candidate going by Igbo attitude in recent months under Jonathan administration(My opinion which does not represent all Yorubas and Hausas views). 1 Like |

GentleToks:So what have you said Now? Is this really a political debate? Is this question really genuine? Is it too much to allow them do whatever they want to do? judging from the nature of comments from the Igbos so far, do you think they agree with you? It's really painful when people just don't know when to back off. The education system has failed, Yes, but you can't use me to judge that because I know what not to do so it wouldn't trigger ethnic bashing, Mr. Innocent question or not, it's uncalled for. Take a Good look at the topic one more time before you write me another long epistle. If they do it and fail, you would need not advice them again It and if they succeed, I would really be happy for them. I think everyone should be concerned on how to advance his or her own region. Do I need to remind you of the outcome of Goodluck Jonathan's scholarship examination last year. You folk were humbled on Nairaland for weeks stunned into a 5tupid and stupefied silence now you have the effrontery to talk about being ahead. Where did you spring from with your dangling leash ,drooling and slobbering , Any confrontation will only result in painful chastisement for you ,pain I will gladly inflict so please go there People ahead of us economically you are a funny and ignorant simpleton. I keep reminding you that economics is not about ubiquity and raucousness but influence power and and who runs things . Who runs the money market , the oil industry ,manufacturing , Telecomms and Banking not who is begging for the Niger to be dredged and a new Niger bridge. A people whose land is cursed by angry gods and blighted by erosion who now take pride in being "JEWS" . The emotions I have for you is contempt and pity as for a stray dog whose owner poisoned it. Did ndigbo have a future with abandoned property. Did igbos have future with £20 policy. Did ndigbo have future with marginalisation and indigenisation decree. If the future of igbos Could be truncated then obasanjo, Awolowo, Benjamin adekunle would have successfully truncated it 1 Like |
