Horpeyemmi66, sorry for the delay. Your questions got me perplexed, and I was very lazy to try them. Nontheless, I tried a few eventually:

1. C

2. D

3. D (I got 0.3, but your option says 0.25)

5. A

6. E

7. B

9. A

10. B

11. C

12. C

Number 4 is kinda stubborn. I tried every possible means I know (was even thinking of drawing a graph) but none yielded any of the options. I'd be glad if you can help me with that, and the other questions I didn't answer.

Okay you guys have tried, honestly...Why I said so is that some of those questions are not everyday Physics questions. I salute youwink.

Now lets delve to proffering answers.

1) The correct option is C i.e I & III. Don't think I have to explain that to anyone.
-----------------------------------------
2) Option C. Jonathan would have to row his boat his boat in a North-Westerly direction. It is a tricky one. Now look at it this way, the river is flowing east, it would be stupid of Jonathan to try rowing his boat East as well. The flow of the river will prevent him from getting to Otueke(It will carry him beyond his destination). Invariably, to get to Otueke, he has to row against the current of the river.
-----------------------------------------

From F1=M X a1
a1=F1/m
a1=2/20= 0.1

a2=F2/m
a2=4/20=0.2

therefore /a/=√(0.1 + 0.2)^2
/a/= 0.22meter per sec sq
Option D.
------------------------------------------
4) It leads to a simultaeneous equation.
S=Ut + 1/2 at^2
45= U(6-5) + 1/2a X(6^2- 5^2)
45=U + 1/2a X (36-25)
90=2U + 11a.............Equation 1.

S=Ut + 1/2 at^2
53=U(8-7) + 1/2a X (8^2- 7^2)
53= U + 1/2a X 15
106=2U + 15a...........Equation 2.

Combining those guys together

2U+11a=90
2U+15a=106
Subtracting and doing what's necessary
a=4m/s^2

substituting you have U=23m/s
Option B
-----------------------------------------
5) Option A
-----------------------------------------
6) Option E(Impurities raise the boiling point of substances like water and lowers that of some others like Ice)
------------------------------------------
7) Option B.
H= Pt
6.0 X 10^5= IVt
6.0 X 10^5= V^2/R X t
R= 240^2 X 5 X 60/ 6.0 X10^5
R= 28.8 ohms
-----------------------------------------
cool Option A.
Just do the comparison just like progressive waves.
Compare :
V=V¤Sinwt and V=4Sinπt
obviously V¤=4

therefore

Vr.m.s=V¤/√2
Vr.m.s=4/√2
then the answer after rationalizing is gonna be 2√2 volts.
------------------------------------------
9) Option A
Narrows: Forward Bias concerns itself with the reduction of the width of the depletion region and increase in the flow of majority carriers i.e electrons.

Taking the boat North-West when the river flows eastward doesn't sound logical either (because the force from the river will keep pushing the boat eastward, except you want to say his boat is the engine type). North-East will do.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Taking this to Relative velocity If the river is flowing at 20m/s and Jonathan rows at a speed of 2m/s eastwards or North eastwards then the speed at which Jonathan will move is gonna be 22m/s. If he rows Westwards or North westwards against the current then the speed at which he will go is gonna be less, 18m/s. Which will enable him to be able to get to Otueke without the river taking him beyond his destination.

Now you are bringing speed into it when you told a guy that "under normal circumtances". And even if the speed is 22m/s and he is smart, he'll have calculated when to turn the boat in the North-east direction in order not to go beyond his destination.

All is well. I just hope such tricky question don't appear in my system. I go just switch off the computer with ibinu.

Morning Bro.

You will not have a choice but to pick something...cheesy. We weren't told in the question either that Jonathan had a rational mind that will help him deduce how to control his boat. "Under normal circumstances" was my own making, it was not part of the question. Whatever jare!
