Well I must have passed through Unilorin years when that was possible. In my case I crossed over to Civil Engineering from Chemistry dept and my sister crossed to Medicine from Faculty of Agric.

Sure you should and if you do very well in your first year, it'll be easier to switch.

Lol... No be everybody geht ben carson's brain ma guy. Ask any secondary sch student what he/she wud like to become, 85% of dem wud say a medical doctor. All of una think medicine na beans, hmm *smh*. What u ppl dnt knw is that that, d BMS faculty of every schools in naija has specific number of students dey are gonna admit, nd most times, dey dnt exceed 200(lets say out of 5000 applicants), even if u get 300 in jamb and pass d p.utme, dah means dr are guru students wey get pass ur score, or wey geht long leg (y'all knw wat mean). A frnd of mine rejected agric two years ago, now, she has not even passed jamb let alone gaining admission. wise up bro, dnt let dem fool u into staying @home for five years, na naija we dey for crying out loud. Dz agriculture u are talking about, there is versatility, u can choose fishery, agronomy, animal production, crop protection, agric economics, food scientist, extension...name it. its not only farming, hoes and cutlass u ppl think its all about, just gv anyone packaging and be making ur cool cash. If u no wise up for dz naija still waiting for one professional course, suffering wud be sooooo close to u like ur next of kin while ur mates are already making it. thank me later borz.

On this, this is my answer for u, Good things never comes easily in life, after writing Jamb for 3 good years hoping to read my dream course law, I came to just one conclusion, which is my definition of Persistence, I define it as "Stubbornness for a Reason". Last year I wrote again and today am a Law Student Unical. Life will never offer you what you wanT it offers you what you are willing to make no less of, what your doGged for.
So this what am saying if your determined to be a doctor, go on with IJMb is a great place where you can be Nurtured to disgrace Jamb. And keep your focus straight, don't accept anything less than what you deserve and desire. Check the lifes of great men, it start from your ability, to accept nothing less than what you deserve.
Finally in case you think you can dump the agriculture for Medicine later, is never that possible, you have the pressure of passing your courses, you begin to love them in the process of passing them and what you can only say is I wanted to go for Medicine, but today!
Be Dogged if only you know what you want from life.

shakrullah, I'll advise that you enrol for that course in the interim while you apply for medicine next year. It's best to be in a school environment than to sit down at home doing nothing.

plus what assurance do you have that you'll get medicine next year? You may not get medicine, so what do you do then? Stay at home for another one year? That'll be two wasted years, when you would have been nearing graduation in Agric Science.

HONESTLY, its a two way thing...If studying medcine is your dream DO NOT LET IT BE DIVERTED,work harder and see that you get it, thats what dreams are for in the first place , to achieve them and not to run away from them. Face it head-on...I'm a graduate of agriculture, though my childhood choice of discipline was architecturing. So either way whether medcine or not just get an outstanding result and know what you want to do with the result. GOODLUCK

passion matters most in anything u want to do... Agriculture is a nice and interesting course if u av d passion for it. bt if not, it can be very annoying.. if u decide to accept it. try to develop the passion for it.. I would advice u to fortified d admission if u find it difficult to develop d interest in d course.. and also don't let ur dream dies off...... Agriculture is not a course u can just accept if u don't like.....

Agriculture is an excellent course but if you do not enjoy it, you will hate those years of your life. If you really want, and enjoy the biologicals, then go for Medicine. You should however be weary of the Nigerian factor thus take any chance you have...simply pray and you'll get results, always works.....am as bad as they get but God still answers my prayers....

young man, agric is not as cheap as people finks. Its all about the passion. If u don't have passion for it then don't go close. But let me ask you. What was ur score in ur last jamb/post jamb that u were expecting medcine? What grade are u expecting in ur IJMB/ ur next jamb? If u answer this then u kw what to do. Save bro

If i may suggest, take the offer, and continue searching for ur dreams. its better that you are in the system while looking for ur dreams, than you are doing a program that you are not even sure of the outcome or staying at home waiting for medicine. you could wait for yrs and that time u would start counting wasted yrs. I and my friend had same problem, me i ran a school program i had sworn never to do, my friend repeated jamb for more than five yrs, and i later came close to my dream, i hv got two certificates now from the first program and second, and my gf just graduated from hers, all those earlier yrs were wasted, she got frustrated at last and chose another course, she is happy with the course now. so my dear, be in d system while pursuing ur dreams. you never know u might even love it. Dont mind those that said u shouldn't. accept the offer. we are not saying leave ur dreams, we are only saying get a reg no while u keep on the pursue. i rest my case......
