Good day people, hows it going. This goes out to everybody, including my guys at cotonou. If anyone has seen a Mercedes-Benz v boot with this engine setup anywhere around Nigeria, please i will be more than happy to be notified as soon as possible. The engine belongs to the legendary Mercedes-Benz 500E and its brother the Mercedes-Benz E60 Amg(Amg transformed engine).

this car would be hard to find considering the similarities it has with its lesser brothers. i dont think the engine is the best way for us to help you, if you have actually seen this car before, then compare it with its siblings and less known a good basic difference when we find it but asking me to open bonnet of all V-boot to ascertain an engine configuration is the wrong way.

1. i read it has same colour throughout bumper and body
2. i have actually seen a V-boot with wiper on the head lamps before, thats the kind of pix wikipedia showed so am guessing thats another way to identify, my dad has actually owned a V-boot before, and the only interior difference the 500E or E500 or the amg version E60 has is the steering wheel and my dads got a 200 slapped on its boot. though its rear to see the number on vboots anymore considering thieves always remove those badges.
3. the E500 only came in auto trans no manual version.

I'm looking for the car man, ive been in talks with the pre-order auto guys, and it seems that they cant really help because of the maximum of 15years placed on cars to be imported. so its down to luck.

your right man, similarities externally between the 500E and its brothers are quite a bunch, thats why i'm using the engine.
It will be ridiculous asking you guys to open all vboot bonnets you come across, I'm just trying to be optimistic about finding the ride.
About the badges behind, people get to slap fake badges behind cars now so looking behind each vboot for the 500E or E60 badge is going to be difficult.
Just in case you come across a vboot that looks and sounds different in a good way, maybe you should just inquire a little bit for my sake man, i'll appreciate it.

Siena, i'm strongly guessing your not in Nigeria from some posts on an Audi thread, and i have seen a few ads online.... ebay and a few other car sale sites and the prices on the ride is HUGE, but aside that, i was told that importation of cars older than 15yrs into the country was not permitted by Nigerian customs services and seeing that production ended in 1995, i was left to hope to find at least one in Nigeria.

You are right. cos only 500 units of those where made. So, chibzee2 would have to pre-order and I suggest he does that with Siena

According to reliable source, 1000 and more units were produced each year respectively and exported to us from 1991 to 1994 it was in 1995 that 500units were exported to us. So approximately we are looking at close to 4500units in the U.S now the op has two problem

I think the AMG version will be easier to find around town in Nigeria since the regular didn't have an amg version only the E500 had. But all the V boot I am seeing here all have K-leg.

That car really is in Nigeria, ull b suprised the cars u see in the garages/workshop abandoned.

I'll keep a look out over at this part of the country for yah.

Heres one I saw recently, s500 V8 amg, they were trying to figure out how to raise the collapse suspension.

I've seen a beat up EVO 2.5 in ibadan and in ogbomosho. That red merc is a S500 not an S55AMG. The red car was just badge engineered. Mercs S55AMG are something else. And are potent than the s500/s550.

I've driven the E55 AMG sedan from Abuja to Kaduna. My friend owned it. Its one hell of a crazy car. Problem is its got excessive power than it needs, anytime I go near the throttle pedal, ESP flashes and beeps, tries to cut power. But when its building up speed, its disorienting. So much tyre spins but its quick, very quick. I did Abuja-Kaduna in under an hour.

If he can get it for you, don't hesitate to bring in the "beast". You can apply for a waiver with custom to bring in over-age vehicle.

Nobody will deny the right to bring in such a potential road weapon....

on point man, I'm so expectant. nowadays when I'm driving,all I'm looking out for is a well flared v boot and probably a 500E or E60 badge.

You can check on eBay for it. But if that doesn't work, you can buy a neat regular 200E V-boot and retrofit with a badass V8/V6 or just turbocharge/supercharge its original engine. Who does the latter in Nigeria?

I've seen so many S-class' with such collapsed suspensions. What causes such is armouring, right?
