Where is the empathy?

You mean degrade yourself further, after proving how much of a disgrace you are to the entire Nigerian medical profession. I would have confused your business for escort services with your money for hand, back for ground policy! grin

Drafrican, please do not mock a pain u have not passed through. Last year June, I lost a 4days old baby due to medical negligence in on of the supposed best hospital. He was born healthy. He cried, he sucked and burped after. The only thing I noticed was that he kept spitting up a brownish liquid. I was told he swallowed meconium, and that he would spit it up by himself. He was not put in any nicu and no paediatrician came to see him till the third day despite all my complaint. I was discharged even though I kept complaining. The fourth day I went back because I didn't like the way the boy was behaving. I got there at 10am, his blood was taken and the result didn't come out till he died at to 6pm. Meanwhile they were suspecting sepsis so they were pumping him with antibiotics. When the result came out, his white blood cell count was ideal for an infant. No further investigation was carried out. Till now I don't know what killed him. It never crossed my mind to ever travel out to give birth before I lost a baby, but after losing a handsome little one, I have realized our health care system is shifty. I was going to sue, but you know how doctors cover each other. Eventually the doctor in charge wrote it off as sepsis. I saw the lab result, and I did a biological science course so I know he had absolutely no infection.

Lol @ Phema. So you don finally join #Team Gnut!

Drafrican, you could have still stated your professional point of view without making it look like you really don't send any preggy. Your response to her was harsh and hurtful, honestly.

Am sorry for your loss
Am not mocking anyone,it would be very wrong of me neither would I insult anyone.
I encourage people to sue and I always will.
It's just wrong to give examples but there's also a lady who did IVF in naija went to the USA lost the baby and it was ruled as SIDS(sudden infant death syndrome) it occurred in the hospital nursery.

Please all , let's sheath our swords and rest. I don't like the direction this talk is going.

on travelling early or late several opinions have been given based on personal experience. This digression is not good for this thread especially with preggy mom's and dads.

One love all. let's hear more successful stories on POE and delivery.

Yes. On a lighter note, no one has replied my question about how much it would cost to cargo stuff from El past to Nigeria. Please help a sister.

You are not sorry, I can bet you have no idea the true meaning of I am sorry! Please stop comparing US and your crappy system, there is no comparison and you are further making a mockery of the entire purpose of sharing experiences.
If you have nothing nice to say, just hush!

It is well, I can imagine...

As per cargo, I don't know of el Paso but usually to cargo from US is about $3.20 per KG.
This was a while ago, I am not sure of any recent figures.

Childbirth isn't a new innovation my sis, 16yr old fulani girls wit their frail looking bodies do it while hawking fura de nunu till the 9th month with no medical intervention.
As you rightly stated, person A's journey and story may not be applicable to person B so why compare apples and oranges.

I think u need to research on the meaning of that expression. It doesn't apply to this in anyway.

Like I said b4, u are reading and NOT understanding. People do all sorts during pregnancy, night journey by bus Lagos to Imo and back. Yes we know all that. Hell women even push baby out while farming in the bush, cut the placenta with their cutlass, bury it, wrap up their baby and keep it moving!
My point is (and I'll write in caps this time, maybe u'll get it now)...IT IS NOT THE NORM!!! WE SHOULD STOP PULLING GANGSTA MOVES BECOZ OUR CO-WORKER DID IT, THEN WE CAN! Or becoz 1st pregnancy handled your 20hr road trip to Alaska, then this current pregnancy should. My point is DO THE BEST FOR YOU & YOUR BABY! Stop traveling late becoz u wanna "gangsta" ur way with the whole process. Even Drs cannot tell u when ur child is ready to come, they can only ESTIMATE. So if a baby decides to enter the world at 32 weeks and u are planning on leaving naija at 35 weeks, don't come on here and lament that ur baby has a green passport after all the plans. Or becoz u were tryna save ur job.
