My bro that registered for the exams just asked me this question and I couldn't give a straightforward answer....

Universites had a back log of admissions due to strike action. So dey didnt want more candidates to be on d waiting list.

Yeah, due to 1994-95 ASUU strike, most of those who wrote 1995 JAMB were admitted in 1997.

There was no jamb that year because general muhammadu scored 356 in the previous year(1995)...nigerians disagreed with the result!unfortunately,some northern youths took to the street as usual to defend the general and it eventually resulted to an indefinite strike.
