stop loss is usually put 10pips above next resistance level or 10pips below next support level as the case may be.
infofirst:
Putting the stop loss isnt enough but knowing how to properly identify the exact point to put it.
Do you understand?

if we continue like this, I may get off early, will prefer if it comes down abt 0.7240 before going up

It depends on the time frame that you pick the support and resistance from.

10pips sl is for scalpers.
Re: Forex Trading - Season 15 by Nobody: 12:05pm On Feb 27, 2015
I do not mean 10pips stoploss, i said 10pips above next resistance level. it is different from 10pips stoploss. I trade the G10 currencies because they have low spread. I use 1h time frame often and 4h, though i take note of D1, 1W, 1Month time frame before entering the market.

For how long should one wait before entering the market after an important news release?
Re: Forex Trading - Season 15 by Nobody: 4:50pm On Feb 27, 2015
No particular time is giving. But as soon as the 'important news release' is in tandem with your technical analysis, enter immediately.

My greediness though... I don't use stop loss.. . only take profit is what I use. I believe this will teach me a lesson.

For real, forex is indeed sweet. Wish something happened much earlier.

I see a lot of SL hits here. Please, always wait for 'out of equilibrum' trades. USD is costly now....biko.... sad

The pair could keep selling for real but at this point, sometimes, eunzd could behave funny, it could retrace but I am not sure of how far it would.. I hope you entry is not too far away?

Lol..............The one instrument I will possibly never be trading again in oil. That 5hit does not obey technical rules anymore. I lost almost 200 pips to it between Monday and Tuesday, then I removed it from my watchlist. Bewteen Wed and today, gold, GJ and DJIA have netted me about 350 pips. At least I am ending the week up rather than down. I am sticking to those three for the foreseeable future jare.

Its like you dont want to see any losses on your account, I can tell you what to do in other to help you recover the losses, but the problem is that, sometime, it would take a whole lot of time to come out of all trades, it also depend on the volume of d funds.. I can give you an idea of if, but If I were the one, whenever I notice any losses beyond my limit, i just pull out, especially if it has a distanced gap

Congratulations jare! I would rather sit down, than try guessing where the market could go next. You only value 'tradelessness' after a (huge) loss. Looking back and recounting thousands of $$$ lost over the years, one would have been better off watching from the ring side.

I have severally, tried analysing gold and oil, but failed. They do not fit into my technical strategy so I let them be. You appear to have a grip on those.

With the way I now trade, I have not had a losing day in two months. Trades are lost, but the net daily closure has been positive, any day I trade. I could go three days on my belly, waiting for a trade though.

Nice weekend all.
