Don't get me wrong..I've studied TONS of material on the U.S Navy SEALS and the British SAS..the Seals in Afghanistan wore t-shirts ,short knickers, keffiyehs, hardly ever shaved their facial hair, and were heavily tattooed..There is no problem with that..Special Forces operators are "behind the lines" and unconventional...I get that..But this is an INTERNATIONAL exercise for Christ sake!..no one shoes up in a Board meeting with sneakers.

Your completely wrong bro.
And i'm surprised u claim to have seen tons of special forces pix and u maintain this position.
See the pix posted by Henry 120 from a similar exercise they carried out in the coast with other Spec ops from spain, U.S, Holland etc in the Lagos area last year...
Exercise african winds and obangame
It's the same Navy SBS-This time wearing black and very well kitted.
So it depends on the Op.
If u grew up in the north, u'll understand the dehydration and 40 degrees searing heat of the north.

It will teach u a thing or two about kitting in hot climates...

Make em do win election make we see how things fit further improve for defence industry side.

He spoke to a new company in Osun state and they assured him that with government patronage they can succeed, so i have high hopes things are going to get further better.

Sir, I have some questions for you.
1)What exactly was the flintlock exercise all about?
2)How would you have had the SBS team dressed?
3)where do you think the exercise was held? Russia?
4)would wearing tuxedos or fancy gears improve skills?

Thank you, in anticipation of your response

Henry, the number of types and shades of camouflage in this picture is troubling. There's a particular camo I see all this time which is not even here.
Are you sure we don't have separate camoflage for each battalion? I am worried.

You know it's a big problem when the President and his ADC can't even have the same shade of Camo.

Let me try and break it down. Since the military wasn't adequately prepared for the insurgency or it's magnitude a lot of things were lacking, not least of them was adequate Camo. So troops deployed generally didn't have the full complimentary of desert camo. To meet their shortfall, they well....... brought along their woodland camo.

The Army seeing that they couldn't produce enough desert camo, had to import from multiple sources to feel this gap, hence the different shades.

To further check this proliferation of multiple camo, the Army decided to launch a brand new set camo regime, this time to be made entirely by their tailors in lagos. Hence the new camo pattern we can see worn by President GEJ.

http://porscheclassy.com/15897/nigerian-military-set-change-camouflage-uniform-army-chief-reads-riot-act-soldiers-social-media

The Nigerian airforce signed an MoU with a local company for the exact same purpose.

http://www.informationng.com/2014/06/air-force-moves-to-check-proliferation-of-fake-uniform.html

Camouflage uniforms in the photo and status

Old woodland camo: Retired

New woodland camo: shouldn't be worn in N.E

Old desert camo: Retired

Desert camo 1: in active use (worn by ADC)

Blue camo: Airforce camo

New camo pattern: worn by C-in-C recently introduced.

The problem is from the very top. The army needs to suffiecently provide adequate camo pattern for it's different operational theaters, then enforce a strict rule of adherence for all officers and men.

Never meant that comment to be offensive.

The usage of different camos makes it easier for people to mimic you.

Chadian military:
For those who keep on harping on differing Nigeria uniforms. I think the chadians have a far more varied variety of uniforms.
Note that they also lack body armour...
And they are not remarkably equipped.
But u notice that they move in overwhelming numbers.
I think this is their key.
They almost act like a guerilla/ rebel group

No one is harping about that mate.

Was just raising the fact that during a conventional war against a professional army with special forces, it would be highly problematic. A cloud of fear and suspense would hang over your troops.

Just calling it as i see it..
Moving on, i can see the expert "juju" doctors in the employ of the chadian forces.

The concerns are legitimate. It is time we plan properly and quit our fire brigade approach to doing things.

The military should be adequately able to supply kitting to troops from local sources. It makes no sense going abroad all the time because local manufacturers cannot meet demand.

The chadians are a rebel army, and have always been a rebel army, on the other hand, Nigeria has a proper military with a $6 billion budget.

No basis to compare. We are complaining of uniform kitting today because we failed to project possible scenarios, and have been caught pants down.
