donhuko: 1. If you stay in Lagos, go to the HEAD OFFICE of NIPOST at the ARRIVAL LOUNGE of the MURITALA MUHAMMED INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (MMA), use the registered mail and tip them to encourage their good work. You know what I mean. It costs between N500-1500 officially. That is the fastest you could ever get of any NIPOST OFFICE in Nigeria of a post leaving our shores (I could be wrong). Although from experience unregistered mails are always faster may be because record keeping and updating online for tracking is not involved and it costs not more than N300 per address/file. Whichever way, I'm positive that your mail will arrive maximum of 7-10 working days if you use that channel. 2. EMS speedpost from NIPOST, takes a maximum 5 working days, no stories! It costs 8k per address or file. 3. DHL is super fast and there is a 100% certainty about the period it will take to reach its destination. It costs 13k5 to send to Germany, from experience too. But before you give away that money, be informed that DHL has a special price for sending documents to school but majority don't know about this because the info is not on their site, at least the last time I checked and their staff will not tell you about this unless you ask. There is actually a special discount price if you are sending documents to schools. My 2 cowries! 2 Likes 1 Share |

bosakelvin:Well it is achievable to a large extent. I wanna write it myself soon but all the circumstances around you have to be in right order. I say this in light of the challenges I have encountered. From my calculation, students in Geothe get their certificate in 3 months, 5 hours in class 8/8:30-2/2:30 for morning classes with a break in between. This class takes place 2 times a week. that amounts to 10 hours a week and 40 hours a month. For someone who will be self taught, you will need to double this effort. Let's say you will need 80 hours a month or 2:30 minutes of serious study everyday to achieve it in one month. At least that's the safe minimum. For the materials, They have theirs for sale. I have gotten myself enough of their materials both audio and eBook, thanks mostly to Dolpaz selfless efforts. Paul coggle Easy learn German. (E book + Audio) they sell the other books for 5k combined but use the one above first. Then my revolutionary discovery which was actualised by Dolpaz too; German all in one for dummies + CDs, a 5 in one eBook, the best of its kind by Wiley books. Use them diligently and you will gun for A2 while all you wanted to do was A1. Check my post on the latter pages of part 1 and see other apps you will need. Above all, you will need a good and dependable PC or reader friendly phone, dependable source of ELECTRICITY, discipline and a studious disposition to achieve this. Before you embark on the test, get in contact with students there to know if you are on the right track, follow a STRUCTURED CURRICULUM and test yourself online. Also, know when the date of the test will be scheduled. I hope you find this useful. Good luck! 1 Like |

Bethiano:I just read this and I'm dumbfounded. I really do not know what to say/write, seriously. I have always been on the forefront of those who clamour for people to read previous post on the thread and embark on further self research. I however will not deny that I may occasionally chip in tips to help make the search easier or give a focus on what and where to look out for information. For the guy who asked about the international passport, I know that the price was changed recently and truth be told, information online regarding the unofficial price if one wants it immediately is difficult to come by, I just shared that based on experience so he can know his budget since he will need it urgently. if that was 'over zealous' or any other actions regarding the way I contribute is, then I apologize to all who may feel offended. I never saw or intended it that way since the blame have become all mine. And I'm NOT a leader here, am just part of it. Thanks for your opinion. Good luck! 2 Likes |

Good morning house, I would like to know if I can apply in Germany university before my language course ended coz I will be studying german in Germany in one yr so I wish to apply in studienkolleg before I finish my language course in Germany ? |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by styles2009: 10:29am On Mar 01, 2015 |
Goodme: First you would need a language certificate from Goethe institut to show proficiency in German before your studienkolleg application would be considered, if not your application would be rejected. Go.slow learn german, then apply, some studienkolleg might even allow you do the entrance examination in Lagos before you come. All.the best. Cheers |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Goodme: 11:39am On Mar 01, 2015 |
After my langauge course in Germany can I extend my student visa to be able to apply for studienkolleg? I'm I going to repay another block fills for extension? |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by styles2009: 4:42pm On Mar 01, 2015 |
Goodme: First question, how long do you think, you can learn the language fast? The embassy might not give a visa to do the language courses in Germany because there's a German language school in Lagos and even when they do,the Ausländerbehörde (Foreign office in charge of student affairs) would only give you 2 years to complete your studienkolleg and language school. Keep in mind the studienkolleg isn't a language school. As for the block account,it's a requirement every time you need to renew your student permit in Germany. My advice: learn the language to B1 or B2 level in Nigeria, it's far more cheaper as in Germany, where the cheapest language courses is around 300€ without calculating rent and other expenses. Cheers |

NOTE: Never say because you have first class, you'll only apply to just one or two schools.. That one na just shooting yourself on the toe. Start searching for schools, apply as many as possible.. Use Nipost REGISTERED mail to send those applications that will last long and use DHL or EMS(Nipost) to send those that will end early. Some schools can only be applied to via UNIASSIST. Lastly, as u dey apply, fire am down with prayers oo..cos if u feel say na your first class go give u admission, you are joking.. Here, u'll see people with results above first class sef. . Write good motivation letter. Copy and paste is a crime. The schools will always find out. 1 Like |

Halo everyone Been silently following this thread for a while and it's been very informative and interesting. My post is directed to you guys currently living in Germany. I'm a final year medical student in Russia. I'm planning to do my residency in Germany after graduation which is in June 2015. I'm aware I have to apply for an 'hospitation' program, which is basically a program where you get you shadow a physician. It's a bit difficult finding a hospital from here since my German is still at the A1 level. I was thinking of applying for an M.Sc in infection biology and then look for hospitals while I'm I'm Germany. My question is 1.Would I be able to convert my student visa to a working visa just in case I eventually find a job. 2. Is there anyone who has a doctor friend, who can help me in finding an hospitation. I appreciate your urgent replies Vielen Dank |
