I don't get it? Do you mean house husband like the opposite context of a house wife? |

The research is craptotatic. . . They refused to go to the villages and inquire about who the farmers feeding nigeria are. "Hardworking" doesn't have to be white-collar. 1 Like |

Most men's pride won't let them do that It's probably because we inherited this thing called "the provider" or "The breadwinner" mentality |

falconey: You haven't been to Akwa-Ibom state. The land of uncommon transformation. A very good number of men IN (the emphasis is "in" not "from" the state are house husbands and proudly so. And yes, a good percentage of their women are "hardworking". 1 Like |

Op, what exactly do you mean by civilization? Must we do it because it happens in the countries you mentioned? Abeg, Nigerian men are hardworking and we have our pride. To sit at home all day waiting for Iya Sikira to bring soup money? Tufia |

There's nothing as house husband in those countries you mentioned. The idea of one partner sitting at home while the other work and provide for the family isn't the case like in Nigeria. Every couple are engaged in one employment or the other and bills are splitted. I am not sure where you got this house husband idea in these countries from 1 Like |

falconey: House husband in South Africa? This is the 1st time I'm hearing about this. The men here go to work, unless of course they're unemployed or run their businesses from home. There are no full time Mr Moms that I know of. South African women do tend to be very independent & hardworking though, due to some having been brought up in households ran single handedly by women-with the father either no longer with the family, is dead or is working away & only returns at the end of the month. Plus most girls aren't as googoo gaga about marriage because we believe a woman can make it on her own without the help of a man. It differs from tribe to tribe though but still, every South African woman believes she's a rock with enormous strength solo. 1 Like 1 Share |

Go to the villages, you'll see them. Their wives farm, go to the markets while they only attend village meetings, chewing kolanut and gin husbands Even in the city, some women are full time breadwinners 3 Likes 1 Share |

It happens in a part of the country as stated. I believe such men still claim to be the 'head' and don't carry out household chores. The term house husband doesnt fit them. They should be known as what they are.LAZY MEN. |

There are but majority of these men are either working from home (business) or lower class. This is more pronounce in many rural communities in the South. On the other hand, men are seen to be bread winners, so they need to struggle (work) to meet the needs of the family.
