customised87: Yup, your baby is entitled to a checked in car seat and one bag 23kg, and entitled to a stroller that they collect at the airport gate. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by customised87: 8:39pm On Mar 02, 2015 |
FinanceFitness: Thanks for replying. So all i need to do at check in is to check in our 3 23kg bags and then proceed into the plane with the hand luggage, car seat and the stroller? And then the stroller and car seat would be collected at the entrance of the plane? Is that what you mean? |

Kayyhe: I want to believe that you are doing this primarily to secure your child's future. You can only ever benefit after your baby turns 21 and is able to financially sponsor you for legal residence. You absolutely DO NOT become a citizen automatically. You still have to meet the residency requirements for 5years before you can apply for U.S citizenship. One of those requirements entails not spending more than 6months outside the U.S or your residency will be considered abandoned and your green card revoked. It's like a lady who once tried to go through the U.S citizens line at POE (because she had a U.S citizen baby) and she was told to get back to the visitors line because your child's citizenship doesn't give you derivative status until he/she petitions for you. 1 Like 1 Share |

myst: Its called the consent form which you can print out from the US embassy website and then either notorise it b4 u travel to US leaving the baby name and the dates blank or let ur husband notorise it after u ve given birth and have it sent by courier to u in the US. It can be notarised at either the US embassy or by a legal practitioner that has a notary seal. You will need a valid ID card for the notorization. Note that u can only notorise at the embassy after the birth of ur child unlike other legal practitioners that can notorise for u before u travel and it is also important for you to confirm if the state u r birthing at accepts consent forms notarised in places other than the embassy hope this helps 4 Likes |

In order my dear Meanwhile it's good people like u are here, so by the time we come back for 2nd, 3rd and 4th round, una go don sniff out another cheap affordable package we can all use. |

nefertitiram: You n cloe should do more research on the free health care Ooo before you go n sign your child for Medicaid without knowing the full implication. UK has free health care no doubt. But y do you think the republicans are kicking against the Obama care: the reason is simply because The low income earners benefit more from it , so even citizens still get to pay Ooo n everything depends on your income level. Looking at it from that angle, your child is a minor so they are suppose to analysis his health benefit based on his guardian/parents income level and you as the parent don't have any record as per that in the US.And from the comment you posted from that site they said "free or low cost medical" that's to tell you they have what they consider. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Quick question regarding passport application process in Georgia State. Does the consent form from father have to be notarised at the U.S Embassy or any court? Election postponement has spoilt plans |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Amother4life: 10:34pm On Mar 02, 2015 |
customised87: You are absolutely correct with a slight variation though. The state agencies have no jurisdiction when it comes to passport matters/ issuance. The state department a federal govt agency is solely responsible and only nortary from the U.S embassy in Nigeria is acceptable for a fee of $50 of course. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Amother4life: 10:40pm On Mar 02, 2015 |
Shawbabe: Make an appointment online after printing out the consent form and go to the U.S embassy and get it notarized for a fee of $50. Go with international passport for identification purposes. They will not accept any notary outside the embassy oh for obvious reasons. |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Amother4life: 1:17am On Mar 03, 2015 |
Shawbabe: It's a uniform process. States do not issue passport or have any say it the requirements. it's the department of state that handles passport issuance. Only a nortary from the US embassy in Nigeria is acceptable . |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Amother4life: 1:20am On Mar 03, 2015 |

If the consent form is to be notarized in Nigeria then it must be at the embassy. |

Airpure: Lots of people have benefited tremendously on this thread because their questions were being answered. The listing was done because someone asked for the benefit of obtaining the American passport for our babies. If you don't like a particular question or answer it's better to say it politely than making derogatory statements that can hurt feelings. Let's be respectful to one another, please. 14 Likes |
