Re: How Do I Get CCIE Certified?? by spoilerx: 8:31am On Dec 24, 2014
I found out you can write ur labs in nigeria via Cisco mobile labs. But you have to book months before .

Mobile lab comes to naija like twice a year

the mobile lab stuff is not guaranteed. subject to number of candidates they get. they cancelled that of August 2014 and April 2015 in Nigeria cos of low turnout.

so your best bet is abroad probably UAE, Qatar or India. Budget 700-800k & make sure you are ready.

please do you have any information about costs and which institutions in India is the best and the most cost effective?

Is network bulls any good?
Re: How Do I Get CCIE Certified?? by DanIndia(m): 8:37am On Mar 03, 2015
I'm not sure about Network Bulls. I hear a lot about them but I am not sure about the quality of their training. There is an IT hub(city) in India and a street where there are tons and tons of Institutes that offer these networking courses. You can only tell when you see them for yourself.

and how much would CCIE training cost in a very good institution?
and also accommodation& feeding costs ?
Re: How Do I Get CCIE Certified?? by DanIndia(m): 11:04am On Mar 03, 2015
Check on google, bro. I have no idea on how much it is in a very good institution. If you're at a level to achieve CCIE - you should already have been used to finding info on Google. One thing I can say for sure is if you use an Institute letter to acquire visa for the purpose to study with them, it will be very very expensive. I remember when I wanted to do CCNA and I spoke to this Institute, they gave me a huge quote but when I secured a Visa and went to the office in person. It was more like a 90% slash down.. For serious cool

Accommodation, $100 a month will do just fine.. and feeding costs - I don't know how much you eat bro hahaha

Hahaha, you may be right but some Indians are very straight-forward. And sorry about the know how to google stuff. I didn't mean any offence with it. So you're planning to sit for CCIE ? I assume you're CCNP certified already..

this isn't the right place to make this post tho but bear with me.
I want to start a career in ICT and don't know what one to start with. I was looking at the Cisco packages but I know nothing about those and luckily I saw y'all talking about it.
does a ccna, ccnp, ccie certificate makes you employable? I would like a brotherly friendly advice and help as concerns it. I appreciate your taking time to put me through. please let's talk.

yes ccna makes you more employable in the IT industry, but gaining employment is no longer that easy , since we now have many ccna's in nigeria so the surest thing is to try to get the the ccnp immediately after ccna. It also depends on which part of IT you want to specialise in, server admin, network admin e.t.c. IT is very wide but the 2 foundation professional courses/exams for people that want to get into IT/networking are MCSA(all about server) and CCNA(all about cisco networking), and also network+, A+ security+, but most people nowadays just skip N+,A+ and jump to ccna, its still a good practise since ccna covers much of N+.

i don't understand why @danindia would travel all the way to india for just ccna training.

I would say you do CCNA first as it would give you a head start in the field. Then delve into operating systems and how they work in a networked environment. Either with Microsoft or Linux. Though Linux is my favorite.

Then you can do your CCNP and afterwards, any other certification or courses relative to these.

If you don't have any idea of computing whatsoever, do CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ for foundational knowledge. If you have a degree in Engineering, you could skip those.
Re: How Do I Get CCIE Certified?? by DanIndia(m): 9:34am On Dec 31, 2015
I don't understand how you came up with that assumption yourself. When I did my CCNA training, I was pretty sure I made the right choice and if you can handle the expenses, I'd recommend you do your training in India than Nigeria.
