barcanista: Was Gen Buhari ever in PDP?... NO! Was Prof Osinbajo ever in PDP?... NO! Please let's leave all these talk about "APC major players were once in PDP so therefore APC government must be the same as PDP." That is a fallacious statement. In every organisation or gathering, what matters most is the character of the person at the top. When Prof. Dora Akunyili was appointed the head of NAFDAC in April 2001, she didn't have to sack everyone previously working at the agency. But her personal zeal, focus and militantly uncompromising stance forced everyone within NAFDAC to sit up and do the right thing. Owing to her strong stance, the formally corrupt and impotent organisation became very efficient. I repeat and I repeat again, what matters most is the nature of the person at the top. Even though Prof Dora may be gone today (God bless her soul), we still have thousands of Dora's in Nigeria today who are capable of delivering if only the oga at the top would permit them to. If you place people like Stella Oduah or Bode George or Amaechi or even Tinubu under the authority of a Gen Buhari, they would act accordingly and you would be surprised at how efficient these same set of thieves can be. The last time I checked, no matter the antecedents of the individuals in APC, what matters most is the integrity and courage of the person at the top. 3 Likes |

Whynotthetruth: People like labran maku? That's visited the site and claimed the turbines are working? How much did you buy chicken in December 2013 and 2014? Same for oil, pepper and tomatoes. Please respond. |

I think what most of us are interested in now is the money side. So we have seen physically the projects haven't been completed to working capacity, fine. How much money has been spent on the project and where has the money gone? I hate the fact that this information isn't readily available - If i want to know how much a project carried out in the UK cost and who it was given to it will take me a total of 2 minutes. Down to the programme schedule and contractor expenditure! |

obailala:Omo re Kan o si ninu ibon,le hin ko dun pau. PDP from head to toe is full of deceit and lies. same way 16billion dollar went the drain all in the name of power. A child of 16years failed to crawl, not to talk of stand on his own, walk, run and fly like other sane nation of the world. I wonder our sins for God to have neglected us like this. ALL IZZ WELL |

barcanista: You are a two-facet personality. Trying to exonerate Jonathan from the mess PDP created is like blaming your mouth for the new sets of teeth. The thing is that government is continuum. If Jonathan could take the praise for the 4 navy ships - which took so many years to build, like 7yrs, may be they are China used self - what separates his administration, of close to 6yrs, from been criticize for this charade. The man is as corrupt, even far corrupt, compared to his PDP predecessors. The more reason why majority are not voting for him. You may argue this as you wish. It's simply the truth you Tanoids are hiding from. Be it as it may, he's clueless, diabolical, divisive, unintelligent and lack leadership quality. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Whynotthetruth: Is arresting journalist part of the democracy you know. At least GMB can hide under the fact that his was a military regime. As for the question if he was the only military regime yet he was harsh, except you do not know your history you would know that all military regimes tried to suppress the press. But your claim that they were jailed for centuries is false, it was only politicians who were convicted due to corrupt that had that lengthy jail term. GEJ had on at least 3 occasion jailed press men and his is suppose to be a democratically elected government. |

obailala: You must be an alien bro...Akunyili got loads of people sacked...Moreso, it is very myopic to compare success in an agency of Akunyili to governance of a COMPLEX state like Nigeria...btw did akunyili succeed same way in Ministerial appointment...Osibanjo was part of tinubu corrupt regime... If buhari could hold his own as he did in ANPP, CPC etc why is he not in charge in APC now?...All his actons today contradict most of what he stands for or promised in the past.... Eg He said he will fight corruption and his party APC came out through Oyegun and contradicted that... So take it into your head now; buhari cannot control Tinubu not now not ever...you think after funding him; they will leave him to rule and go to bed...wake up bro... |

The is mere propaganda, to rubbish the hard work the government has done in the power sector. It's really sad that people harbor such mischief in their hearts. The power plant has neither been commissioned or mentioned anywhere as generating power to the national grid. Obviously, the government cannot build all the power plants at the same time but from the pictures shown, serious work has been carried out and further investigation reveals that the plant has also be slated for privatization and a preferred bidder has been selected with an agreed price of $415,075,000. If no serious work is on ground I don't think any firm will bid for the plant. There is so much misinformation and everyone needs to do a second check to confirm any information out there because politicians are so desperate to get votes by whatever mean. we really need to be careful. I really don't know the intention of the poster seriously. |

In this case what triggered my anger is; Mind set of the major contractor, Plight of the locals around, Misplaced priorities by the youths agitating for mere compensations other than real empowerment, Staffs and workers involved in the entire project are just pissed with the delays in project delivery date and lastly, Another additional megawatts to national grid. |

Demdem: . Beginning 1983 - after your Buhari brought the first curse upon Nigeria by sacking a democratically-elected government - until 1999, Buhari and his successor military governments never understood that the power sector needed replenishment. If votes of ignoramuses like you are able to bring Buhari back to power again, that shall spell a worse and irreversible curse upon Nigeria. You Hypocrite with misplaced blame game. You must have naively believed that Jonathan in six years alone must have to repair most of the damages done by your Buhari and his successors to the electricity sector in so many years. |

Isiterere:The irony of it all is that the so called $16bn which we accuse OBJ of spending, Jonathan and his crew have quietly spent more than that even though the power sector has been privatised, yet we have no improvement in power. I'm still glued to my TV and radio to hear the news when we shall attain up to 5000mw. Since 1999 we've been hearing 4000mw and whenever we take 1 step ahead, we take 3 steps backwards. In 16 years, PDP has spent a record of over $30bn, yet generators still sell faster than food in Nigeria. 1 Like |

Whynotthetruth:Wait until he gets to power. Nobody gets to power on his own or by his own strength alone. That is a major principle of attaining power; you have to ride on the wings of others (both good and bad) to get to the top. Just patiently wait until he gets to power before making this your statement again and then we shall know who's really the boss. As for Prof Dora, you are rather the one who is not seeing the bigger picture. I only cited an example to let you understand that it is possible to cleanse a system without having to kill everybody. Yes she might have sacked a few people, but she didn't sack everyone. There is no organisation which is made up of only saints. You actually need the good and the bad to make progress; what matters most is the ability of the pilot at the top to control the excesses of the bad seed. GEJ obviously cannot control the bad seed, he cant control anyone at all including his own wife. Even Jesus Christ wined and dined with sinners and he even had a Judas amongst his kitchen cabinet. At the end, every one serves a purpose. |

9jatriot: Jailed by Jonathan... get your dictionary and come back again bro...or give me names of the jailed... Did I say for centuries... keep grappling with straws... NADECO and such other groups existed under military albeit some intimidations...Under buhari even NANS, ASUU, NMA etc weren't allowed to exist...He's worse than a dictator bro... You said convicted & jailed only corrupt politicians?...Was Ekwueme corrupt? So why did buhari jail him? Why didn't buhari jail Gov. Awwal(seemingly most corrupt governor then)but put him under house arrest and released him within 2weeks...What about his ADC Jokolo & emir of 53suitcases?...so much for a general fighting selective corruption abi witch-hunting his perceived enemies in the name of corruption... |
Re: Egbema Power Plant In Pics by 9jatriot(m): 4:15pm On Mar 03, 2015 |
Whynotthetruth: I gave you a link earlier, why all these rhetorics and back and forth. If you claim that GEJ did not arrest them, then Buhari can also claim that he did not arrest the journalist that it was security personnel who did it. If Buhari takes responsibility for their arrest, GEJ should do same in his own case. 33 brief cases, Ekwueme, etc have been dealt with even here on nairaland, use your search button bro. His approach may have been unconventional, but there is no doubt what so ever that the man abhors corruption, stealing or fraud and does not try to give them a new dictionary definition or call any of them "ordinary" or commission projects that are not working. |

obailala: You are too petty for mentioning Jonathan can't control his wife...What has his personal life got to do with this?...Can you compare his family life to that of buhari?...Jonathan is far better in his private family life bro... Be sure that if buhari isn't & can't control APC now so how can he control a lager body Nigeria with adjoining sabotage? Will Tinubu; Amechi; Atiku; Saraki etc allow their investments(billions) to go... Jonathan just shrugged off such burden but they are all with buhari now screaming 'change' |
Re: Egbema Power Plant In Pics by Whynotthetruth(m): 4:23pm On Mar 03, 2015 |
9jatriot: Buhari jailed them but in Jonathan; it is normal invitation to police for questions after which you go home...kindly get a dictionary and see the meaning of "jail"... Buhari said Abacha isn't corrupt and didn't loot the treasury...Hope he's a saint to you bro? |
Re: Egbema Power Plant In Pics by 9jatriot(m): 4:29pm On Mar 03, 2015 |
Whynotthetruth: If people have their newspapers seized from them, taken to the police station and not released, I don't know how else to define arrested. Buhari did not unilaterally put anyone in jail, most cases were tried in special courts called tribunals. Like I said previously incase you missed it, his approach may have been unconventional, but there was no doubt that the man abhorred corruption. One man says that you cannot say another man is corrupt without providing proof, another man grants him a post humus award. Who is the greater sinner in this case? Every single thing you accuse Buhari of, GEJ has done worse whereas any good GEJ may want to claim to have done GMB has done far better. |
Re: Egbema Power Plant In Pics by Whynotthetruth(m): 4:39pm On Mar 03, 2015 |
9jatriot: This will be my last reply to you because I hate running circles saying same thing... Is arrested and jailed same thing dictionary isn't costly boy... With all the returns from abroad of abacha loot; buhari went ahead to say he's not corrupt...wtf...And you're here ranting in his favour... Abacha was rewarded like all former rulers@centenary celebration, because he's part of our history no matter what we think of him...BTW Abacha had some awesome economic policies to his name which buhari isn't as intelligent enough to achieve...Check economic indicators under buhari and weep... |
