I don't know the Market for Vintage and Classic Bikes in Naija (my own last time on a motorbike was over 30 years ago). I presume you are importing for the local market as the transport costs of importing only to export again would be prohibitive.

It would seem to be an issue of sourcing the appropriate machines. Target your market well - it is as I said a NICHE market.

Cant really help much otherwise.

I do know that MANY Nigerians I meet in Ireland have the same business idea! Get EITHER second hand cars or parts for cars and import them to local contacts in Naija. There seems therefore to be a consensus (rightly or wrongly) that there are large profit margins here! Given the cost of transport and duties etc it tells me that either the purchase costs are low or the selling prices high. I am not certain of this though because I am not a specialist in Automotive.

If you are importing then you have my sympathy as the current state of the Naira will make imports proportionally more expensive. (Exporters are benefiting though).

From a general business point of view (and your are probably doing all of these already)

Ensure you have more than one supplier if possible to avoid 'single point of failure issues' and give at least some minimum options on costs. Even if you are very happy with your present supplier it does no harm to keep at least a small relationship with alternative ones. In the event of some Agency deal at least have alternatives researched and some form of contingency plan in place in case of a problem with your supplier.

Target your market in Naija very well. Get a presence on the WEB. NOT the usual shoddy websites but a professionally produced one. Get it into the search engines. These are high value niche market items. There will be buyers who want these - make it easy for them to find and contact you.

Now you say selling around the globe so unless there is a source of these Vintage Bikes in Naija itself you are sourcing from foreign countries and selling also in foreign countries. If this is the case then you must be very well connected in the market. It depends on knowing where to get the products and who need them on an international basis. In that case you need people knowledgeable in the field and ready to work with you around the world. They will tell you what they have or can source and what they need. Your role will be primarily a middle man.

Really I have so little information on your business that all the above could be exactly correct OR totally off base!

We search the net daily, we buy and sell most vintage-buying and selling-say in the lessor countries-say Naija, Asia, just maybe we find scrap metal, that belongs to a vintage, but its a rare find either way, unless someone has a old classic from the wars.

Our main targets we search for is world war underground bunkers, back in the day the Americans, UK's even in Ireland would bury underground artefacts weapons, 1917 1942 vintage planes, tanks, trucks, parts, even ships are buried, vehicles and Motor cycles and other in remote area's, and when the Governments decide to have their private sales, our sellers are informed.
It's time to buy.
Some of these placers are built like underground cities-but in the other hand, someone somewhere, stumble across these bunkers, that could be worth, millions in stock.
You may wonder if the products underground is worth the risk, you have no Idea what is buried underneath you.

But we don't deal in Imports on your advantage everyday transports, or in the everyday local business, its the everyday man and his dog deals with, Bank loans-each year fighting to keep up with the Joneses, or the smiths who are selling that same old product down the road.
Selling the local transports, or buying imports, is a everyday market-the mega businesses stay alive- while the smaller businesses end up dying- another meaning to this is the rich get richer- and the poor get poorer.
