United were desperate for a goal but still chose to send on a midfielder ahead of a fit Falcao the striker.

It's not me who has problems with witches and wizards

whatever!
we won, chelsea lost on this same ground. go and tend to your erëctions. i hope you die of blue balls tonight.
------------
------------

chris smalling - another solid performance! the moment jones goes back into this defence, we would lose or draw.

Who cares if you win or lose.

We're talking Falcao vs Giroud.

Thank God we got the 3points.

But this team does not inspire me in anyway. Damn, don't believe this is United.

falcao is a better striker than giroud!
if you choose to compare giroud scoring tonight to falcao that didn't even kick a ball then it tells me you are perhaps mentally unstable! you should also compare RVP to sturridge tonight while you are at it. grin

the team is doing everything right from the defence to the midfield. the final third is the big issue. no cutting edge(this is where rooney, di maria, mata, etc) should be earning their stripes. we created chances.....we just can't buy a goal these days.

Before or after Alan Pardew left Newcastle? Cos you can't compare this current Newcastle side to the one inspired by Pardew.

Man U rode on their luck tonight, Newcastle was denied a PK, and Man u, should have been reduced to 10 men, but none of that happened. On a different day, that penalty would have been given, and with 10men, I don't see Man U getting a draw from that game.

Well, whether final third or early first am just irritated at the lackadaisical attitude of the players, especially when I juxtapose their performances with when we had Ronaldo, Tevez, York, cole, Neville, scholes even when Fletcher was described as being too competitive by Wenger, these present crop are a disgrace.

Remember when we see Giggs, Neville flying thru our flanks, now the only person, Rafeal who does that has been frozen out and we have a one track minded Valencia who has been converted to a RB is just not good enuff.

Too many side/back passess, no attempt at bullying the opposing team by trying to dominate, their idea of dominating is keeping the ball without actually hurting the other team.

Is it that we don't have the personel to play fast positive football or na LVG instruction. If you think we played well and the problem is only in the final third, well that's your opinion. The defence does not even attempt to initiate an attack except through route one.

Its embarrassing!!

LvG should grab his c口ck & stick to a combination!

why did Fellaini start this game as a no. 10 anyway? he could have started the same combo from last match, let's see how we build on it. he go just dey waste vital subs all the time... mtchew

like say we drop points this night eh, e for no funny one bit & I for bring out my calabash for LvG!

what has before & after pardew gotta do with this? mourinho has never won at newcastle & pardew wasn't there in the previous seasons when mourinho's teams fired blanks.

united created the best chances - on a good day, united should have been 3 goals up. we bossed the possession & newcastle had to rely on quick breaks to counter.

yes, that incident was a penalty but i doubt smalling would have been sent off for it. the ball was going away from goal & there were players covering up. it woulda been a yellow & a pen.

We played well, just that little mistakes here and there and ill luck let us down. Di Maria's substitution and introduction of Janujaz did not work for us today as the temple dropped drastically. In my opinion, this was our best away display this season. We controlled and dominated completely. Fellaini should play faster while Ljuke Shaw should be used as the left back instead of Rojo.

All teams approach us the same way. They seat deep while hoping to catch us on the break. We will be far better next season. I can see lot of improvement but also lot of nervousness due to the situation we find ourselves at this critical time of the season.

it's the lack of confidence.
moyes turned kings into slaves last season. no one wants to take a calculated risk & play the through-ball so they settle for square & back passes. a top 4 finish would bring 50% of the confidence back.

Remember when we see Giggs, Neville flying thru our flanks, now the only person, Rafeal who does that has been frozen out and we have a one track minded Valencia who has been converted to a RB is just not good enuff.

i still cannot understand why rafael isn't playing. he's our best full-back. unless LVG worries about his height disadvantage, he's way better than valencia in that RB position.

Too many side/back passess, no attempt at bullying the opposing team by trying to dominate, their idea of dominating is keeping the ball without actually hurting the other team.

i agree.....it's frustrating.

Is it that we don't have the personel to play fast positive football or na LVG instruction. If you think we played well and the problem is only in the final third, well that's your opinion. The defence does not even attempt to initiate an attack except through route one.

we do - our players are some of the fastest in the league. it's a confidence issue. i also notice we don't stretch defences towards their goal so there would be space for the creators to operate.

rooney gets attracted to the ball & goes searching for it. falcao of late has also been guilty of the same issue. loaning hernandez is our biggest error this season......his constant runs off the shoulder of the last defender creates space outside the box.

none of our present strikers does that regularly. this is why we play in front of the opposition defence like robots. we are so easy to play against. pass pass pass - take it to the flank - cross - ball gets cleared - we get the ball again - pass pass pass - rinse & repeat!

Its embarrassing!!

you can say that again........

It's dicey. And it's not the time to scatter the team with undue changes. I will want Rojo dropped from left back due to his lack of pace. He is the only defender without pace and he exposed us today. Since our midfielders are not the fastest or strongest, we need our defenders to be fast (speeding).

Oppositions mostly try to outpace us with little of the ball they see.

Nihilist, Falcao, Rooney, RvP and Di Maria = 29 goals. Alexis and Giroud = 36 goals.

Herrera & Blind is the best CM combination we have. Carrick should nyash down because he will resume his 'stand-at-a-spot-receive-and-release-ball' style.

Blind & Herrera are not the fastest players, but their synced mobility (and Herrera's agility) compliments the midfield. once a pace&pawa midfielder joins them maybe next season, that midfield will be one of the best in Europe

i like their combo too.....
i see no reason why we cannot play 3 in the midfield. we should go back to 4-3-2-1 or 4-3-1-2. our final third is the problem. let van Gaal choose 3 of our best forwards in the attack department.

di maria, rooney, mata, young, januzaj, RVP, falcao, fellaini, wilson should all fight for the 3 remaining slots. that is where we need a change. smalling & rojo are our best CBs, shaw/young at LB & valencia/rafael at RB.

Rojo is actually playing Left-CB not LB and I won't suggest Shaw playing there since he lacks qualities of a CB

A Newcastle goal from penalty in that first half would have changed the course of that game, and with a yellow card and in bad book of the refree, smalling effectiveness would have been reduced to avoid a second yellow and red card.

That Penalty was the turning point of that match, only Man United can get away with such decisions in England, and it speaks volumes, as the refree was right at the scene of the crime.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 11:43pm On Mar 04, 2015
As for me, Rooney stretched the defence well enough today. Apart from not slotting into the net, he did every other thing excellently well. One of his offside call could have been onside some other days. That happened because he was stretching the defence. Also, I saw him calling for the ball while alone with the centre back but Fellaini and co prefered other options. That's football, players make decisions within split seconds. Overall, Rooney made genuine bite on the defence while holding and creating with the ball. His 90% pass accuracy, his on and off the ball movements and dribblings were commendable.

As for Valenvia, another good performance. Again he came top of our pass accuracy despite being one of our highest passers. He could have had a good assist if Fellaini knew how to head with power like Drogba does. He also doesn't always go to his right anymore. He did his job as a left back and as an 'overlapping defender'.

Evans seems to have finally find his feet. He was our best defender today.

I just wish we finish top 4. May God help us achieve it. Amen.

I think we should retain our width & give Mata his place behind a CF. its a shame di Maria has chosen this crucial period to be off form, otherwise I think the current system is good enough.

Januzaj should get a start in di Maria's place for now, while di Maria can make sub appearances & ease himself in again going against tired opposition full backs.

our conversion rate is appalling & its only the restlessness exhibited by the faithfuls when we play @ home that really keep the players on their toes! this is only our fifth or so win away this season *covers face*

No, Rojo was LB while Evans was the LCB.

Shaw should be our LB. Rojo lacks pace.
