The only reason why the government is 'bitching' is because Kenya has troops in that state and gives the appearance of undue influence. Regardless that region is the area my mom hails from and her clans supports that region becoming a state so that it can collect revenue and build infrastructure rather than waiting on Mogadishu for everything.

What you fail to realize is the North Region of Kenya is Somali and the same clans that live in the south of Somalia live in Northern Kenya. Its the other way around, Somalis are trying to take Kenya's norther region rather than Kenya taking Somalia's southern region.
