E hen! No wonder. Seems I'll just have to get a UK visa for her. I don't want mine to expire without using it. Thanks a lot for your explanations.

Good morning everyone,

Please can anyone confirm if it is true that Delta has changed their policy on the number of weeks a pregnant flyer should be from 36weeks to 30weeks. My doc just told me but I find it hard to believe. Anyone with accurate info should let me know please.

Thanks.
Did someone have a baby on their plane grin

@mummyprincess, Congratulations on your POE. So what did the lady do with your phone.

I just feel the need to make this comment...I feel you should only present what you are asked. I feel showing all 'cards' on account of being asked for just one is somehow. correct me if I am wrong, just looks somehow to me sha (maybe over sabi sef)

My Dear, all I showed was all they needed to see to support whatever I told them orally.
Why would I wait for the officer to stamp unapproved (before I present embassy notification correspondence )because it was said that I shld be in California with my family for vacation but showed up in Houston alone n now for birthing? I will be a waste of time after reading about others experiences n not use it for my own benefit. That is why we are here - to learn n also help.
However, you are entitled to you own opinion though to your self if you call it over sabi but that your so called over sabi saved me those 3- 5hrs that some other preggies I know who might not be on this forum told me they spent in the same airport on the same day. I didn't spend up to 30 mins for your info.

As for my phone, the officer must have gone thru my sms, chats, mails n others but I was not dull to leave any implicating stuff. I wiped even all the NL mails n history .

Kindly send me the details by email. Don't know how to view it on ur profile
lalavita:
Hiya,
If you look through my profile, you'll see a post on DMV hospital choices. I also included prices and OBGYN info including mine.

If you want the lowest price, Prince George's Hospital Center seems to be the cheapest package. A few mums here have used them. Please bear in mind this is a county hospital so they are professional but may not be the most luxurious.

@aye88 suggested Inova Alexandria and they offer a good discount.

Someone else recently mentioned Providence Hospital in DC.

All the best.

How did he know the person u were dere to stay with was not at d airport to pick you up.
mummyprincess:

Wow! Congrats Sayo, may God continue to bless you and your little ones.

@ house, my POE story.
Let me start by thanking every one for your contributions on this thread. Just knew about this thread 3 months ago, read all the pages registered n became part of it. I wld have started this journey long ago for all my kids if I had these 1st hand info earlier.

Got my b1/ b2 last yr with hubby n kids for summer vacation in California. Wasn't pregnant at the time. The interview in Lag was very short n the VO didn't even ask for any of burden of proof, he just saw our diff.family vacation trips in UK which were less than one month n hubby's other business trips n only asked hubby how much he tot wld be enough for the trip n that was it.
I flew KLM on sunday night instead of Emirates I booked earlier from Lag n requested for aisle sits near the toilets n a wheelchair cos I know how stressful this gate to gate thing can be. Didn't bother to carry hand luggage cos I was already stressed up.
Remember you are a priority passenger being pregnant so I didn't join any cue for checking n always boarded with 1st class passengers.
KLM didn't ask for my fit to fly. Had a smooth journey to Amsterdam, with a bit of swollen legs cos I didn't wear my compression socks.
Had few hours sleep since I usually don't sleep well during flight. freshened up, wore my compression socks this time n was wheeled to boarding gate to Houston. The officers saw my money abt 8k, ask what it was for, took me to a small cubicle, counted n let me go.
On arrival to AIH at around 1: 30 pm, a lot planes landed n i cldn believe my eyes for the very long cue but thank God for the wheel chair cos I was wheeled in front n even I asked the help if I cld stand n wait to be called, she said no that I wld be asked to go back to the line.
There was no swollen leg, I drank lots of water n had my little exercises

The CBP:why are you here?
Me: To have my baby n a short family vacation when my family arrives.
He repeated the question n i repeated my answer.
CBP : who's is California?
Me : hubby' cousin, called his name who we wanted to spend vacation with last summer but some projects didn't allow us. Then gave the reply from embassy where hubby asked them to update our records since I now want to use my visa for birthing.
CBP :Any money on you? letter from doctor?any payment to doc. Or hospital?
Me: Answered him and gave him all the docs as I arranged every thing in an envelop. These include my return tickets with that of hubby n kids showing we leave us the same day n with same airline, my statement of account n that of hubby, hubby's passport details n visa pages photocopy, doctors correspondence n bills, medical reports from my Nija doc to the doc. here with detailed print out of all the test result. Note: I took away my fit to fly.
CPB: took my finger prints n asked that l shld be taken to an office for further interrogation.
Hmm a lot people were sitted here oooo some looked like they have slept for hrs n still sleeping, mostly blacks (Nija )inclusive n Mexicans.
The 1st officer that received my passport here finished his own typing work, dismissed the help that brought me n handed it over another officer, now a lady.
I had heard this lady officer say " Nigerians, liers" n i said in my mind that she has got the wrong person today n maintain my confidence.
She came n ask for my cell phones n i gave her 1 that I had n insisted I bring out others. She didn't believe that was all n threatened to search my hand bag but when I obliged her, she left with the phone.

She later called me to a separate room with another male officer after about 15 mins, having gone thru all the docs. N another round of questioning started. Are you a part of Nigerian that come here to give birth? Said no, I do not know abt any grp.
Y this Nija doc. N after having your other kids in nija, y come here for this one? Said I read the doc profile on Internet n he fit in he kind I was looking for n for better health care system. Asked me if I had insurance, accommodation, why the person I was going to his house was not there to pick me, even abt my hubby'acct statement. I had genuine answers for every of their questions n this time it was an interactive one. I didn't even behave like I knew they turn people back n all that.
Wrote A on my declaration form, asked me the sex of the baby am expecting, wished me luck n told me that I shld knock at her office next time I come n tell her if I got what I wanted. Asked me to go get my baggage n go to secondary inspection
See their sniffing dogs every ooo, with his particular one stationed at the exist point so that if the others hadn't come to your baggage, that one wldnt miss it. It came sniffing at mine but when the officer saw my declaration form n i told him I was going for inspection, he just directed me.

@ sec, inspection, this funny Asian man was asking me for yam, knorr chicken, agbalumo n others. He scanned my baggage n their was a beep. I didn't know what cause it anyway, my question if taking palm oil is illegal was not answered but I took just a little. My box had only few clothes so it was just very easy to see the food items. He saw my soup cocoyam n seized it probably because the name has yam on the label. My oil was not seen though n that was it.
Did not succeed making phone calls at the public phone boot even after getting some coins but was shown where to make free local calls at terminal E n this save me from a longer wait.

I thank God for His grace n answered prayers. Waiting for my 1st appointment with Dr FF tomorrow.

Lol! His add was what I stated on the form. She asked n i said he wasn't there cos he was at work. Told her I can always get a cab after all , how I get to my destination shld not be a worry to her. I made arrangements with another relative that took me home but I didn't need to tell her all that.

Thanks everybody. I'm still at the hospital though. Not gotten any bills yet. So far so good the big red button on the remote in the room is my best friend. I must use my money finish for hia. Any small thing, I go press am. The nurses don know me self grin if I wan cough, I go press am. If the nurse enter I'll say "I want to know if I can cough after surgery" grin
Meanwhile delivery was good, very smooth, and Dr Fagbohun did the surgery himself. I was having back pains and he asked me to come for checking, after checking he asked me to head straight to oak bend that we would be having the babies.
Na only d clothe wey I wear follow me go hospital. I dint even carry a purse talk more of baby bag. And d bag self is useless cos I've not removed one thing from it since I gave birth. I went in, and went to labour and delivery where I met nurses smiling at me saying they had been waiting for me. They took me to a room, prepped me for surgery while we gisted away. Even though I was seriously shaky. They took me to the OR and I was given spinal (it hurt), then my chest downwards went numb. I was given oxygen too and loads of blankets as I was shaking seriously. We were all talking as they pulled out my two babies one at a time, and I was cleaned up and 'mended'
After the surgery the nurses I've met have been very great.and the red button too is very sweet. I was given ice to chew immediately after surgery so I was not dehydrated cos I was throwing up during the surgery.
Recovery room was great, nurses were very helpful. I dint need anything, babies were clothed, I was given toiletries and towels and all, but not food sad
Post p is excellent, even though we fight small this afternoon cos dem no wan gree me give my babies formula. I must have collected about 25 packs of juice since yesterday, cos any small thing Na juice as I no gree fart or pee since morn.
I came here alone and I've not needed help cos d nurses were exellent. Though I've not slept for 30 hours now cos I dey breastfeed. I hope I don't run dry.

This was me 2 weeks ago the only difference was that mine was a repeat c -section. Pele... Please give them formula ooo you can't kill yourself because you want to do exclusive besides you just had a major surgery....

With my first I gave him one ready to feed a day from the get go but with my lil madam we've been breast milk all the way I guess she's not eating as much as my son was and now that I'm a veteran I've quickly discovered Medela breast pump (expensive but so worth every penny esp if you really want to give them nothing but BM)
I started eating right after my surgery but I took stool softeners and was passing gas right away but the major never came until I got home and it wasn't pretty TMI.

The Lord is your strength as you take care of your babies hope someone is joining you soon because it's not easy at all...

All the best...

Hello raydd,

I dont know where you got the information that Doctoresparati services has 'degraded' over the last few months. I had my baby in December at the Del Sol medical Center and the care and professionalism were top notch. I had my ante-natal with Dr Mattel at the East Side Women's Clinic, and I cant even find anything to fault. The guy is very jovial and friendly and doesn't rush anything or coerce you into doing something you are not okay with.

You ask questions to the doctors or nurses and they will take their time to explain and ensure you understand. This was my experience and I loved every minute of it.

Let me quickly add that you shouldn't confuse the administrative body (doctoresparati) with the hospital (Del Sol Medical Centre) or antenatal clinic (EastSide Women's clinic).

Hope this helps you!

Cheers!

Hello house, just so you know that there are other methods of pain relief other than epidural for VB that can save you costs. There are medicated (about 300 or less) and non-medicated which is free. If you are a second timer or more you may explore. Just ask your practitioner

RESPONSE

Thank you for your email.

Your B-class visa does not entitle you to entrance to the United States—it simply entitles you to arrive at a port-of-entry to the United States and apply for admission to an officer of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) unit on duty there. The Customs and Border Protection, a branch of USCIS, determines a traveler’s eligibility of entry to the U.S, you should be prepared to demonstrate to the immigration officer at the port of entry why you are seeking medical treatment and that you have logistical and financial plans for the treatment.

We recommend that you review the regulations on non-immigrant aliens entering the United States for purposes of childbirth at http://redirect.state.sbu/?url=https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/882/~/visit-the-u.s.-while-pregnant-and-the-risks-involved and plan accordingly. Please you should not stay in the U.S. longer than you are permitted by Customs and Border Protection at the port of entry. The Department of Homeland Security at the port of entry will determine your eligibility to enter the United States on any travel.

If you choose to give birth in the U.S., we advise you to bring evidence of payment, both when you enter the U.S. on this visit, and at your future U.S. visa interviews.

Sincerely,
