Don't get it twisted. A sitting governor of a state sits at the head of the state security council that incudes the state police commissioner, state director DSS and others. Stakeholders in state security like the OPC are always in the loop and the governor has direct access to the leadership of such groups. So why a governor looks the other way for days while ethnic massacres are going on in his state by some of those groups is beyond me

Eye witnesses say the police threw caution to the wind as they tear-gassed, pushed, shoved, beat protesters, leaving some of them unconscious, the Nigeria Police Watch is reporting.
Some protesters, we are told, were arrested and taken to an unknown destination. Fully armed officers were dispelled to quel the protest which was peaceful until the police moved in.

Tinubu controls the OPC? There was serious ethnic tension in the country under Obj, mainly yorubas vs hausas and this violence took place in the northern mainly with reprisals in Lagos. Please go and read why obj banned Opc, arewa and the rest.

It is mischievous to blame a national crisis on a governor expecially when he does not have a state police and he his in constant battle with obj that controls the police.

Is it a case of greed?

For your information the violence in Lagos went on intermittently for about two years with Tinubu failing to take a leadership role by publicly calling OPC leaders to order. Instead he waited for Obj to crack down on them and earned the political brownie points for neutrality. But when Fasaheun and Gani Adams were at loggerheads he quickly called a reconciliatory meeting.

I guess you can show us how the man who CLAIMS he is Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu went from begging food from his 1998 running mate and squatting in Gbenga Daniel's Kresta Laurel office for his governorship campaign to owning a private jet as well as a newspaper among other business BASED on his RMAFC income as state governor for eight years.

I don't remember Tinubu having a corruption case in court, i don't remember him serving time in jail for corruption either. This thread is directed at neutrals who probably have been told that Tinubu didn't do anything in office.

All i know is that he was discharge and acquitted by the code of conduct bureau
