Again, we do not need to build a floating dock, cause we have done better - build proper ports.

You cannot build and do not have proper ports, so you have something a few levels lower -a floating dock.

Oh, better ships, we have built.

Again, you needed your government to save you from the onslaught that was our maritime engineering companies

Fly At Your Own Risk SAAF, Flying Risk includes :

1. Low fuel in Gripen jet, almost empty tanks, jet may fall from sky without warning

2. One missile only per jet, combat ability near zero level

3. Pilots not qualified, mostly 1 hour per month training

4. Best pilots fly VIP jets only

5. 99% of all available fuel is reserved for VIP transport leisure services

SAAF....flying with all kinds of avoidable risks
.[/size]

Fully trained combat pilots.

Go sulk in your corner with your jealousy. Maybe you can call your 3 F7 pilots over so you can all cry together.
A VIP pilot has a completely different rating to a combat pilot, so which best are you talking about? Maybe in Nigeria you mix and match grin grin

Poor destitute South African minds will always fail to study the exploits and world's rich history of past military Generals.

Simple answer is the SAS Drakensburg 12500tons. It still remains the largest ever military vessel built in Africa.

Get your facts right before you comment
i think you do not understand what an FPSO is and the level of machineries that are mounted on it. that your ship can never weigh half as much as that oil installation.

And that means what exactly? Google all the other air forces around the world (including South Africa) who have
never flown real world combat missions with their latest aircraft, but will still tear the Nigerian Air Force to minced meat within seconds.

Go stand in an open field and see if a Gripen or Hawk pilot won't tear you to bits and pieces with our PGM's. grin

Why me? I should stand in open field for SAAF jets to k.ill me? Even Togo's air force can do that with Alpha jet, kill innocent civilian in open field....oh ! I forgot, that's what the Chadian air force did last month by murdering 30 civilians in the open desert of Niger Republique, and you just assured us that it is the same skill that South African air force has.....same level of M.orons like the air force of Chad.....birds of the same feather flock together....South Africa = Chad grin grin

No wonder the strongest military in Africa Egypt, bypassed both Chad and South Africa then chose Nigerian military to help the mighty Pharaoh's armed forces to fight ISIS in Libya, surely the Egyptian military high command read the Seleka story of how Chad and South Africa both were in Bangui while Seleka took over.

Egypt is NOT impressed by your photos and videos on nairaland, I suggest you send an ambassador to Egypt to kneel down and beg the Pharaoh to allow you come under Nigerian military command in Libya if we go to fight ISIS

Everyone here knows when you start typing paragraph after paragraph, it means you don't know what to say.

Like I told you earlier today, don't think like a 5 year old. Why would Egypt work with South Africa on an issue of regional terrorism?
Take out a map, look at it nice and hard, then maybe you'll figure out why South Africa has nothing to do with this. Do....not....waste....my....time. If you have nothing to say, keep quiet.

Compared to Russia, China, Cuba, Tanzania, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland, Nigeria played a very minor role.

MikeCZAR:
So?

We are not Namibia. Did you know that SA and Namibia have a very close relationship unlike you and Chad.

Did you know: SA donated 140mm howitzers Namibia when they went to the DRC?

Which Nigerian unit fought alongside EPA, PLAN, MK, Cuba, Soviet Union, AZANLA or flew with FAA or the Cuban air force.

Nope, apartheid was NEVER defeated by freedom fighters and the barrel of the gun.

Apartheid collapsed due to global economic sanctions led by Nigeria, and a completely Nigerian strategy of getting the world to boycott anything South African, the economic crunch and pain was the Nigerian made blow that knocked out Apartheid forcing your white lords to and over to you.

How come you Southies were so dumb and stupiid enough to be held captives like slaves in your own country up to 1994 when even tiny countries like Togo got their freedom....cowardice and poor thinking capability made you South African blacks and coloured to reamin modern day slaves up to 1994 grin grin

Work on an oil rig, the mainstay of the nigerian economy, is a minor contract only to a f00l.

And there's nothing more intensive than a rig.

Fact is in order to even remotely see progress, nigerdock had to run under mamma's skirt, cause the bad south africans were eating up all the business.

One oil rig is a tiny contract, there are hundreds of oil rigs in Nigeria.

One thing I noticed about most African Countries is that one of the reasons we have weak militaries is not because of the lack of equipment or ability to produce it locally, its the lack of investment by our Governments who would rather take the easy way out, and won't buy something unless there are some kind of brides involved.

Most Africans don't understand that though it may be though and risky to Investing in such things the rewards will be more than worth it becomes the country becomes self reliant and they don't have to worry about following someone else's rules.

In Nigeria, our government took it a notch higher and have popularised the words Competing demands.

Actually building a floating dock is a tiny exercise compared to building the world class ports that South Africa has.

You have a floating dock cause your ports suck.

And South Africa did more that just work on your rigs. Also, a rig is far more complex than a floating dock, which essentially is just a hull with some bits and pieces on it.

That ship looks virtually complete to you?

The contract stipulates the Hull of the ship would be built in China, then transported to Nigeria were 50 - 70% of the production would be completed.

First Understand reports, or what ever you read.

Comment from BEEGEAGLE....Nigeria's "military God"

11 January 2015 https://beegeagle./2015/01/11/the-nigerian-navys-second-p18n-stealth-offshore-patrol-vessel-nns-unity-f92/

"I really look to the day when that capability shall be restored to the NN. We must ensure multi-mission capability for any ships that come to hand. There is a reason why Bangladesh are mounting missiles even on ships which they primarily use as OPVsā€¦"

He was replying to a comment regarding Nigeria's Navy anti-surface and anti-air missile capabilities. Key word....RESTORED.
Even the military god knows that the Nigerian Navy lost that capability ages ago grin grin

The South African Navy can today, sail inside your waters and destroy what it pleases....fact. Exocet will have a field day. shocked shocked
