You lack so much. Where in heavens sake did i forbid a sinner? We as a Church go on evangelizm, most times discharged convicts visit our Church and we make provision for cloth and shelter even give them money,start a new life with them...is that hate? Please NOTE...I don't and can never condemn any sinner, but that doesn't mean you should continue in sin. You better repent my dear sister. Your argument is baseless and not necessary. Not being on equal yoke with unbelievers doesn't mean we shouldn't interact with them or have them as 'friends'/ neighbours. Equal yoke, as I understand, means operating on the same frequency / bandwidth with them: sharing their thoughts, lifestyle and ideas. There is no escaping from relating with unbelievers because the Bible already said we're in the world. But we shouldn't be like them because we're not of (don't belong to) the world.

Brothers, be at peace with everybody says the Scripture. Those who are young in Faith will say no close friendship but as u grow u will understand. now let me the throw light on some Scriptures confusing u guys.
1. Do not be equally yoke with unbelievers: The Spirit is saying here that though u live among unbelievers and make friends with them u r to be different (unequal) in conduction I.e don't be partaker of their sins(Yoke)
2. Light have nothing to do with darkness: darkness here does not mean unbeliever but sin. Sin is darkness and as a Christian(light) you have nothing to do with sin(darkness ).
Brethren, I will urge us to live in the power of the Holy Spirit. Let's start testing the teachings of our fellowship and correct every wrong teaching. God help us all. You can add me on fb Olaleye Olusanya for spiritual things only.

an unbeliever does not necessarily mean an enemy.
an unbebeliever is one with a different believe than urself.

we are all unbelievers depending on our point of view.

to the OP, our focus should be on doing the right thing; if ur Christian friend cheats u in a business deal, and ur Muslim friend helps u make a profit in the business, who is now an unbeliever?

Fanatism is bad. Calling someone an enemy implies you've passed judgement on the person, which the Bible is clearly against. A christian's greatest enemy is sin/ devil.

How to know an Unbeliever is simple: you ask the person, do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? If person says yes, then how? The person must have confessed the Lordship of Jesus Christ upon his/her life according to Romans 9:10 else the person believed a vain thing.

Friendships are in level and it should be defined. You can be friend to anyone but you have to maintain your faith and make sure your characters and postures portray or shows the light of you profess and believe or else you are no different from the so called unbeliever

It has come to my notice that we're all hypocrites. Mind you, I am an unbeliever so don't dare quote me.

And who does the will of God except one who believes in him (a believer)? Anyone who claims he believes in God and doesn't do the will of God is not a believer but a pretender. Being Christian means being Christlike. One can't be a true Christian without doing Christ's wish and exhibiting His traits. We are either Christian or we are Charlatans. Even though the world has turned 'Christian' to a title of one who goes to church but its real meaning is one who is like Christ. Can you associate only with those who does the will of God only in this world? Christ pray for his disciples and said 'I take them from the world; ... My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one' (John 17:6,15).
As longer as we are in this part of the divide we will need to associate with believers and non-believers alike but in Paul telling us not to be evenly yoke, he warned we can't operate with the standard of the world. If we stick to Godly standard, our best friends and close confidants can't be anything but those like us. This is why Christ said 'If you belong to the world, it will love you as its own' - (John 15:19) - you have you best friend from there. However our continuous existence here implies we will everyday needs to deal with believers and non-believers alike. It is the nature of our dealing with non-believers that will actually determine whether we will make heaven or not. The question on judgement day will be: 'In dealings with the world, do we seek to bring God to it or do we condescend to its standard and becomes like it? Do we inspite of opposition and hostility the world offers us continue to love God and seek to transform the world or do we allowed ourselves be transformed by the world?'
