nefertitiram: Lol. The fact is, if a mother is going through this US birth route for one child, then it's best she does it for every other child she's going to have and not rely on a child filing for his or her older or younger siblings. The waiting time is only going to get longer. The waiting time for parents is much shorter (I think). Uchetobi, please can you confirm the current waiting time for applications where a child over 21 has filed for a parent? 1 Like |

Please has anyone paid for a selected seat on British Airways and used it? What is the difference between the $27 and $38 seat? How and when does one request for wheelchair and bassinet. Do you pay? |

tbaby2015: I didn't book appointment from Naija. He told me he would assume my medical responsibility as I arrive n to arrive not later than 34 wks but I gave him reason why I wanted to arrive at 34wks n some days n he accepted. I had my Visa before the correspondence started so I used the email correspondence n his attached bills at POE. |

chloe7: I really want to pay for comfortable seats (3- including mum and toddler son) where I can stretch my legs cas they swell easily. Please when you board help me scan the seats especially those ones that start each section of the plane immediately behind the partition. The seats are 3 in a row by the window and aisle. Check if they have more leg room. Thanks and have a safe trip! |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Nobody: 1:04am On Mar 09, 2015 |
dittobaby:leg room was poor mehn, really tiny leg room I was frustrated but the hostesses were really nice ;d yes there's usually space behind the partition so i'll make sure I check for those numbers for you. Cheers |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by mummyprincess: 1:14am On Mar 09, 2015 |
Adeniyitob: Not long at all. Like someone has said,5mins phone call is more than enough. I booked for one of the locations but found out another is closer to me, I just called n reschedule both the date n location. They also would want it convenient for you. |

Yippie! I don port o. Promised to post my successful visa interview but was so busy making plans, cancelling and remaking.......so my interview was a breeze in Lag.Booked my appt late cos each time i checked the website for waiting appointment times, I'll see one day, so thought I could just book a day b4 d interview. Not knowing the one day was for how soon one can book an appointment after payment. Luckily for me,got an appointment for a date 5 days away from the day i filled and submitted my ds-160. Went with my mum.Interview went thus, but not in the exact sequence Cbp:where in the US do u intend to go and why? Me: Houston,Texas to hv my baby Cbp:why so far? me;this is my first baby, I want the very best healthcare and since mum will be wt me, I won't be alone. cbp:hv u contacted a dr?hw did u get to to know d dr? Nairaland? Me;smile, extensive research online, but i'm on nairaland as well cbp;checks my passport....so you schooled in the UK? me;yes, told him what I studied cbp:when did u get back? me;told him (probably wanted to know if I had overstayed) CBP: when did u get married? me; told him the exact date cbp:wat does ur husband do me;told him where he works and what he does there cbp; can i see your bank statement? Me: Gave him mine, hubby's,dad's and a part sponsorship letter from dad. consent from hubby and sponsorship letter as well Cbp;reads the letter from dad, smiles, asks abt the heavy inflow in my acct at a particular time last year Me;explained it was for my wedding cbp;nods, asks if i had friends or family in the US me:No, I used to but they are back here.....I remembered I had said I had family in the US when I applied and was denied in 2013 in London (they are actually back in Naija) Cbp:why isn't your husband going with you? Me:He's very busy wt work, especially with the shift in election dates CBP:Pick up ur visas on thursday! He didn't ask my mum a single question, mumsy just kept smiling gently throughout, not even what she does since I had put there I wasn't sponsoring her.... Thanks to Kizluv, eventually decided on Missouri 3days ago... after getting conflicting reports on the place I had intended to stay in Houston, affordability and sentimental reasons (dad schooled in Uni Missouri years ago).....Booked United 3days to my travel date,Houston poe.....flight was cool, booked for wheelchair service from Lag but didn't use it cos hubby felt it was ridiculous lol....as if na him sabi my body pass me..United was aiit, good leg space, food not bad, they asked for fit to fly even though their website states that no need for medical documentation till the 36th week (they want it on a letter headed paper not just hospital stamp). Joined the fast track queue and an immigration officer told me to be very careful and not change my intended destination(which I had already done i.e Houston to St Louis), cos they had been sending back many pregnant Naija women of recent. Flight was smooth, sat not so far from a rest room, walked round just once during the 13hrs, but kept flexing and extending my ankles, didnt wear compression socks.....but to the Glory of God no swelling. Got to Houston 20 minutes to 5a.m,we were told to chill in the plane till 5a.m when the immigration staff would resume... Abeg make I sleep small, Houston POE story to continue tomorrow. @ Kizluv i dey hail o, i don land, the extended stay place is so cool, phone battery dead, sockets not compatible wt my charger...we'll talk tmao. 19 Likes |

TeesMom: I used this hospital and Dr Glenn too. It was a nice experience and the Dr is superb. He also accepted my lab work from Naija. There's additional charge for false labour - 200 or so. The hospital also charged 100 for circumcision. I had a baby boy through CS. The only additional cost might arise if you use the hospital's paediatrician - cost depends on services rendered on the child. I stayed at Intown Suites till I delivered due to the distance. It's about 7mins drive and Dr Glenn's office is right next to the hospital. I'm done and heading home in a few days. I'm happy to answer any questions you have 9 Likes 1 Share |

[quote author=Oresmum post=31441566] I used this hospital and Dr Glenn too. It was a nice experience and the Dr is superb. Good Morning Oresmum and congrats on the birth of your son. Please i have some questions: 1. Was the circumcision done well? 2. Did you do all your lab tests in Nigeria or did you do some in Nigeria and some in the states with Dr. Glenn? 3. How much did you pay for the pediatrician fees? 4. Was there any additional lab test done on mother and child after delivery and if it is at an additional cost. 5. How many weeks done were you when you went for your first appointment with the doctor. I checked some Intown suites,it seems Intown suites Extended stay living 1-45 North 16909, Rolling Greek Drive($249/ wk) is the closest with 3mins drive and 9 mins walk to the doctors office, same 3 mins drive to the hospital (Houston Northwest Medical center) and 11 mins walk. Will be waiting for your reply. Thanks. |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Oresmum: 10:16am On Mar 09, 2015 |
tbaby2015: Intown Suites on Rolling Creek Drive. Peaditrician cost depends on what they do. I paid 1,500. It would have been less if I was well informed and if I had negotiated well. |
