joeace2020: the double sub @ 45 mins made little sense. Fellaini tried but he should be an impact sub, Mata or Falcao should get the starts through the middle. having said that, LvG didn't ask Valencia to assist Welbeck or di Maria to pull refs shirt no matter the circumstance. it was a more silly red card than Smalling's @ the etihad. those two events summed up the night for us. the team has to move on & ensure they achieve their main aim this season - there'll be no excuses. |

These are all the goals. Phil Jones gave a perfect pass. He took that ball down with ease. Something Gaal would cherish about a defender. I think Di Maria should have picked Moreal for the first goal. He needs to learn more about this league, Everyone is a defender somewhat. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=354034788113577&set=vb.346396795544043&type=2&theater |

chrisley024:LvG doesn't like - Mata, Herrera, Shaw, Rafael, Smalling. he doesn't double check before yanking them off a game & keeping them on the bench. I like LvG, but players like Herrera & Mata only make it to the pitch cuz the fans @ OT & the media believe in them - & this is fact. |

chrisley024: It was like Oxlaide was getting better of him. But Gaal should have kept faith. The subs were too early. He should have waited to see what happened after another 20 mins in the second half. May be we could have scored first. |

I don't know if LVG has lost his mojo are Man U players are just shyte. All I saw them do was hoof the ball to Fellaini and hope for the best. I thought the Long ball United thing was just bants but it was embarrassing to see for myself. If Man U don't make the top 4, Adidas and Chevrolet don enter one chance |

SailorXY: Herrera's change was tactical, it's just that it backfired. Gaal was trying to neutralize the pace and power of Oxlaide and Sanchez. |

A40: Fellaini makes us play differently. Sometimes I wonder if our game would be better or worse without him. In the last two games, he had a good first half, and them he plays rough in the second half without good passing of the ball. Yet he plays 90 mins while we could try Falcao or Mata. Rooney can drop behind Falcao or Mata behind Rooney. |

We will still need a midfielder who can effectively travel with the ball. We keep seeing Smalling and Phil Jones burst some tens of yards with the ball down into the final 3rd, something Blind, Herrera and Carrick can't do. When you have a midfielder who burst plenty yards suddenly, it unsettle the opposition defence. But for a hand ball, Jones almost set Fellaini through on goal after bursting about 40 yards with pace. If we are to play tikitaka with Blind and Herrera, then we may have to get some other kind of player other than Fellaini. Fellaini doesn't complement them well at all. No pace, no quick turning, no dropping deep to assist and no perfect final balls. No good shooting ability. If he could last 90 mins it would have been manageable. |

Van Gaal laments FA Cup defeat to Arsenal Louis van Gaal expressed his disappointment after Manchester United’s FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Arsenal, saying the Reds "lost because of our own performance". United went down 2-1 to the Gunners at Old Trafford, where Danny Welbeck scored the winner after Wayne Rooney had cancelled out Nacho Monreal’s opener. Angel Di Maria’s subsequent dismissal for two bookable offences only made the Reds’ task harder. "We didn't lose to them, we lost [because of] our own performance, and that's very disappointing," the manager said at his post-match press conference. "The players are very disappointed; they know it could have been different. "It's a pity because after we were 1-0 down, we recovered immediately," he added on MUTV. "And the first chances of the second half were for us, so we could have decided the game." Welbeck took advantage of a short backpass by Antonio Valencia to net the decisive goal, but van Gaal refused to be too critical of the Ecuadorian, who otherwise impressed. "We gave the ball away in an area where you cannot give the ball away and that’s very disappointing," the manager said. "I think the best man in my team made the error and it was decisive. These things happen." Di Maria was sent off by for two bookable offences, firstly for simulation and then for appearing to grab referee Michael Oliver to protest against the first decision. "Every player knows you can’t touch the referee," van Gaal admitted. "He has touched the referee and the referee can give him a second yellow card. "I said in advance of the match that you must never receive a red card – [you must] control your emotion, and then that happens. "I have said to Angel Di Maria the referee is the boss on the pitch. He decides and you have to adapt to the referee, not the other way around. "With 10 vs 11, it was difficult to beat the opponent, but we fought until the end and the fans were supporting the team, which was fantastic." United’s hopes of winning the FA Cup are over for another year and the focus must now be on securing a top-four place in the Barclays Premier League, with rivals Tottenham Hotspur the next visitors on Sunday. "All the players are very disappointed and that's logical," van Gaal added. "We have to see how we recover from that. "I can't say the motivation of the team was bad; it's always good. We showed fantastic fighting spirit again. "This is a big blow for us but we are sportsmen, so we have to recover." http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2015/Mar/louis-van-gaal-laments-manchester-united-fa-cup-defeat-to-arsenal.aspx?pageNo=2&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=ManUtd |

elampiro:fellaini has improved but in the grand scheme of things it only shows how poorly we play. it is quite disturbing we play fellaini in the hole when even blind people know he cannot link up play with his back to the post. LVG is a case sha. |
