EnigmAries:Don't just base it on your own thought, check their square kilometers from a map & from the last census the population will clear your doubts, ogbomoso is way bigger & more populated than Ilorin. |

My little observation is that Ogbomoso indigenes are very enterprising and great travelers but build houses in their town and often go back home on retirement. Therefore the town is highly urbanised. Many of them grew up in Ghana or the North. The current Oba lived in Jos and owns properties there I was told. Many who were born and grew up in the North have returned home because of the insurgency. Before LAUTECH there were the Baptist Mission/hospital and Federal Government College which brought in more people. Of course there are small scale businesses too. It's a big town anyaway. 1 Like |

Macelliot7: The article is trash. However, Lagos is a city. A city is a geographical expression while a stae is an administrative expression. They are two entirely different parameters. To understand better, State,Region, Country are administrative. City, Village, Town, Continent---these are geographical expressions. So Lagos is a city and a state at the same time. Once again, the article is trash. The best way to measure city populations in this day and age in the absense of census include 1) Number of active phone lines 2) Google Maps 3) Transport Patterns |

raumdeuter: Pathetic now!!! 1966 & 1979 data?? Are you serious? Are you not aware that economic dynamics change and as such city concentrations? Haba! In that case Abuja's population should be reading like 3000 persons. |

alaoeri:Benin city’s population was already 1.4 million in 2006, you guys don’t do research, that is what is holding you back, how can you be hundred percent sure when the population that was claimed to be for Ogbomosho In 2016, Benin already got it in 2006, download and read Assessing Resident Satisfaction with Planning and Neighborhood facilities of Some Public Housing Estates in Benin city, Nigeria Journal of Educational and Social Research By Kingsley Okechukwu Dimuna Department of Architecture Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Nigeria And Abiodun Olukayodeh Olotuah Department of Architecture Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria Page 23. It was stated that in the 2006 census, Benin city’s population was 1,346,703 but what is on Wikipedia is about 25% lesser than the actual population of Bini city in 2006 worst still with no source whatsoever.
