This is what is currently happening in Lagos West Senatorial district featuring Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Honourable Solomon Olamilekan Adeola alias YAYI.

On 6th of Feb 2014, YAYI Adeola in Ilaro, Yewa South LG of Ogun State, registered to contest for senate, Ogun West.
All of a sudden, with the help of his in-law Tinubu, YAYI surfaced in Lagos West after losing out in the APC primaries in Ogun West.

There are three senatorial districts in Lagos and Tinubu’s family members are jostling for two of those. It's on record that Solomon Olamilekan Adeola - YAYI married from Tinubu’s family. I'm also aware that Tinubu’s wife is the incumbent senator for Lagos Central.

Are there no other candidates the APC can come up with. Why must they be from Tinubu’s family? Do we need a confused YAYI in Lagos West? Has Lagos become the waste dump of Ogun state?

You can’t make Lagos second choice, youths tell Rep

Scores of youths from Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State on Tuesday protested at the state secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), against the senatorial ambition of a House of Representatives member, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola.

Popularly called Yayi, Adeola, who represents Alimosho Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, is aspiring to represent Lagos West Senatorial District in the next political dispensation.

However, the youth, under the aegis of Alimosho Youths for Good Governance, have said they do not want Adeola because he had earlier shown interest in contesting in the Ogun West Senatorial District, Ogun State, but turned around to pick the ticket for Lagos West when he was rejected.

Spokesperson for the group, Luqman Balogun-Johnson, said Adeola’s action was a slap on the people of Lagos, as the state should not be the second choice for any politician of repute.

“We have nothing against the person of Honourable Solomon Adeola. Our grouse against him is that he had earlier signified his interest to contest in Ogun West Senatorial District. He has put up a strong structure in Ogun State. We have series of posters here to back our claim. Also, if you go to Facebook today, you will see ‘Yayi for Senate, Ogun West’.

“But because he lost out in the power play in Ogun State, he now came to Lagos West seeking to realise his failed ambition.

“We are urging the leadership of APC in Lagos to consider this when the primary of the party comes up. Lagos State is dear to us and we will not allow anyone take it for granted,” he said.

Forget about the posters in as much as it is not a political post, you can't hold a contested post by election in a state & go to another state & wanna contest for another post under the constitution of Nigeria & have it at the back of your mind that the names of those contesting for various post in the country have been submitted to INEC so YAYI's name will now appear in two states abi? The problem with Nigerian youths is our inability to be objective most times. Very soon it will now be about party affiliation. The PDP and APC " dichotomy" certain questions should be asked and honest answers provided. Where is he representing at the moment and where does he want to contest?
I am of the humble opinion that the issue of leadership viz a viz representation should be one that cuts across the society bn governed and not just a family sharing positions amongst them...Nigeria Youths, we just need to be honest with ourselves and start making decisions devoid of sentiments#my2cent#

The issue is not just where he wants to contest, the issue is his desperation. Running from one state to the other just to get a place is shameless desperation. That is not someone who wants to serve. That is someone who wants to go loot. And to know that he is Tinubu's inlaw completes the ridiculous job! This is the height of desperation for power.
