I way caught in the middle of that robbery Yesterday. At first it seemed they were army officers trying to chase off robbers not until bodies started dropping that we knew something was going on. One of the guys came to my car and told us to lie down. Thank God the police didn't show up as usual maybe people like me who was directly in the frontline with nowhere to run to would have done. They were well organized in such a way that you would think u were watching an action movie. Also their arms were with the usual sticker of the nigerian police. Am still shaken with fear, I still play the scenes in my head, thank God I came out alive. I pray for repose for the souls of the dead and may God give their families the strenght to bear the loss. This is another pointer that as the elections draw nearer we should all vote wisely for people who have good plans for security of lives and properties , for me its GMB/PYO..

It was unfortunate that I was on my way home from work at that time. I just saw the traffic warden running into the inner street from admiralty way. And saw someone else running (who I taught was the petty thief they wanted to catch). until I saw drivers infront of my car leaving their vehicles and running for safety. Na so I run take cover behind a wall infront of a house where an Hausa man was already lying down flat.
So I squatted at the edge of the wall and started reciting Ayat Kursi when I started hearing these heavy gunshots a few meters away. Was there for like 20mins till I started seeing people coming out.
Also I believe I heard siren (probably from the deceased vehicle) which might have triggered them getting shot by the robbers who were bloody.
Ran back into the car and did James Bond reverse back to work whilst sweating and thanking God at the same time.
Lesson I learnt:
1.The hausa man told me he was from Bornu and they were used to it. All they do when such happens is to lie down flat on the ground.
2. We never appreciate the value of life until evil come close to us. People in Bornu are facing such every day yet we seem to care less since it's not here.
3. Always appreciate God and ensure that you are ready to return back to him cause no where is safe and to God is our return.
Alhamdullilah.
May God protect us all from all evil and protect Nigeria from violence that can trigger war.


At the bolded, you nailed it. We just seem to care less when something is not happening up our nose. If the incessant bombings that happen in the North were to the happening down South. Only then would we understand what it means to go out in the morning and come back safely in the evening.

Nigerians where are your cctv cameras ..am not sure why Fashola , the police ..or the GEJ cronies cannot buy this anti robbery devise ..it is so cheap now that these devise can be installed in buses on the street ..these cctv dont even need electricity to run them ...why suffer this much nigerians with all the brain and prayers ..it defies logic

Rule number one above is VERY good advice. Only those who have survived getting caught up within range of intense gunfire will know that lying prone and hidden out of sight is a FAR better option than trying to run for it, since running figures draw the eye of the shooters, who will then use those fleeing for target practice, so as to instill debilitating terror in all present.

While it is true that a person running for their life won't be prone to fatigue until later, it is far better to run only as far as the nearest hiding place, be that the culvert over an open storm drain, over a low wall or under a car.

This is why the Nigerian police are soo brutal and they transfer their aggression on to innocent helpless people.

How much are they being paid that they should now face getting shot, on top of that they are not given the resources they need to fight crime. When they die their families are not compensated.

The little resources they have they prefer to terrorize people with it ie their heavy handedness and unnecessary use of teargas.

The same yesterday MOPOL at a bank in lagos brutally beat one young boy only lawd knows if he's still alive. If not for the robbery that will be the trending news in lagos.

Please you guys shld help me thank God o, help me thank God o. My colleagues were caught up in this robbery but barely managed to escape. Intact one of our official cars is one of d cars in the 3rd picture. We pray for the repose of the souls departed.
