Did you miss the part where the policemen on duty died
Fools like you make it look as if their was no security there
Otondo

Sine you have resorted to calling me a fool indiscriminately, I will try and educate you on how policing works..

The effectiveness of the police is measured by the number of officers per head of civilians.

Now if the President was in town, what that means is that security in his route and locations would be beefed up which in Nigeria directly translate to Pack the roads and buildings with officers. Now where would these officers be conscripted from you would ask, from the other police stations around the state. I will take a reasonable guess based on my experience with such happenings in the past and say that over 500 Police officers would have been conscripted from around the state and put on the Presidents detail just for his visit. Now what this means is that the ration of officers to civilian would be greaterly diminished..

The governor isn't stupid in his comment, he knows exactly what he is saying. Anybody who was at the airport yesterday or on the pre approved presidential route would be able to tell you the amount of officers in the area. And mind you, the police already complains of being under staffed and under equipped.

Now what that means is hat the rest of the state is left with fewer policemen, fewer weapons and fewer cars to respond to an emergency.

Meaning the Policemen on duty would have had easier access to back up if the rest of their colleagues were not tied up with the presidential detail.

Now go FHUCK a pig and die if this isn't clear to you now what the governor is saying..

Are you drunk?

Is it a lie?

Go and see the police presence in states when Patience Jonathan visits..

I remember sitting in traffic in Rivers State and counted over 75 cars in her convoy with armed policemen littered on the roads designated for her to pass and in her convoy.

It goes without saying that the best time to plan an attack in Nigeria is when the President or the First Lady is in town. All the robbers have to do is avoid the areas where the presidents convoy would pass..

APC chief I thought you will ask for change

Next time before responding, please spend some time to think about the issue at hand.

Is it possible that the robbers noticed that at the time there was not enough police men in the usual areas around the bank?

So do you not think there is a relationship between the president's visit and an unusual lack of police manning at the area?

i now understand, you are speaking out of hatred,i can see your bitter heart but remember it can not change the truth, fashola failed in his duty, we can pardon him but he should not blame anybody for his incompitency to secure his state, why not tell us that the president also took his own policemen that follow him every where he is going even to toilet

you sound senselessity!

Whatever you think of me.....there is a reason why many people argue for state police...and lack of day to day operational control is one of the reasons. Everything has to be done from Abuja.

And I have outlined a solution. What is yours? You PDPians can do better than just call names.

If this is indeed true, then Fashola would be right to blame GEJ for the robbery, taken into consideration that the redeployment of Police personnel because of GEJ's visit was most likely the reason why the bank robbery was successful. The bank robbers knew that GEJ's visit would make it easy for them.

If APC Lagos cannot display to the whole world the video of the robbery incidence captured by their CCTV in the next 24 hours, then the project is a complete waste of resources and the money MUST be refunded.

The cctv control room provided by lasg was empty. Policemen on duty were ask to go out for field work to ensure Jonah-daft security.

This has nothing to do with politics for me, it's just simple common sense..

If a state that has 1000 officers commits 300 to the presidential detail, what that directly means is that for the period those 300 officers are on the presidential detail, the state is under policed.. #Fact!

It would be pure stupidity to think that Fashola accused Jonathan wrongly... Don't you even think Fashola is more logical in his actions than Jonathan?

I remember when Pdp held a really for the then gubernatorial elections in osun state, it was like ife was Sambisa. police everywhere with soldiers and military men littering the streets...I'm sure if there was some robbery in another part of the state, the robbers would stroll in and stroll out of their mission area... Except you're not in Nigeria, you should know that the security details of the president has no specified number. he can use the whole armed forces for all he cares.

This occurrence in my town, Ikare Akoko Ondo state took place while the president was in the neighbouring state, Ekiti. The soldiers at the entrance of the town were drafted to provide security for him - a single person caused the death of 21 people. Later the president will say his political ambition does not worth the blood of a single Nigerian, na by mouth angry

Fashola just talking anyhow without reasoning. "TALKING first before THINKING" The question is, were the robbers in millions that Lagos State could not provide enough policemen to fight the arm robbers?

That is the problem. Fashola (as are most governors) are CSO's in name only. The Police in Lagos is controlled from Louis Edet House in Abuja. Even the State heads of Police are appointed from Abuja. Or why was Mbu able to argue with Amaechi? Because Mbu was really not under Amaechi's control.

It is when lagos HAS a state police...that we will finally be able to say your critique makes sense.

That is why some people argue for state police. Governors will have more maneuverability in terms of security. As things stand....Fashola cannot even ask for more policemen for Lagos....it is the Police Command in Abuja that makes such decisions.(I oppose state police on grounds of cost...but incidents like this make me rethink my opposition).

As thugs stand....PDP is in charge....and PDP has no coherent urban policing policy.Which is why we need a change in the way the Police is run....and a new Police tactical squad.
