STOP BEER PARLOUR GOSSIPS...SHOW THAT YOU PAID SOME SCHOOL FEES... angelsing: It’s Difficult To Probe Ekiti Audio Tape Saga Without Key Witness –Jonathan — Feb 28, 2015 | 0 Comments In a bid to explain why it was hard to institute a probe into the controversial audio tape from the Ekiti State, governorship election, President Goodluck Jonathan explained that the inability of Sagir Koli, the army Captain who leaked the Ekiti-rigging audiotape, to come forward and authenticate the tape, has made it difficult to proceed with the investigation. Jonathan was quoted as saying that upon his inquiry from the head of the Department of State Security (DSS), whether an investigation was ongoing on the tape, he was told that investigation was stalled on grounds that Koli was not available to defend the content of the tape. Koli had fled after he got a hint of plans to arrest him by army hierarchy. Jonathan said, “In fact, when this story came up, I asked the DG, Department of State Security Service if they had investigated the matter and they told me that they had instigated an investigation, and then called for the person who claimed he recorded it and that he disappeared and nobody can reach him,” Mr Jonathan said. “There was no formal petition before them but because of the general interest, they wanted to have him interviewed to know where this was coming from. If someone comes up with a spurious allegation that has no substance and the person disappears, of course, what do you want me to do? Definitely, anytime we get him, he’ll have to substantiate his allegations. There is a lot of false stories being circulated and it is very sad,” he added. Jonathan however admitted that he has not even listened to the tape. Nonetheless, he said the meeting could have held. But he expressed worry over the high tendency of deceit and manipulation through recording devices. “I have not watched the video (it is an audio recording, not video). I said that it was a fabrication because, you see, people now, especially with the social media; we could be here and discuss issues and somebody will hack some of our voices and create a story that never happened. “Therefore I am not saying that the meeting in question was held or not held but the issue of conspiring to rig, I said it was a fabrication,” he said. GEJ, David Mark, Abaribe and their likes are as bad as they come with regards to corruption. They and their class members will retain the record of the worst and most immoral individuals to have walk the corridors of power in Nigeria and posterity will judge them harshly and their off springs will walk in shame in the land in years to come. When the Nigerian state has been rescue from these greedy chalattans, we will have law makers who can look back and make laws that forever labels these people as enemies of the state who worked to destroy it for the benefit of their own pockets. We will recovers the ill-gotten wealth they stored for their future generations at the expense of the Nigeria state. |

Whynotthetruth:And from our president statement can't u deduce any fault in that?...Where in the world do u need a key witness to investigate a crime?...You only need a key witness when u want to persecute the offender....So tell me why do u need the key witness to investigate a crime? |

How can people come here and talk about an on going underground investigation. allegations were made against a candidate for a position, Evidences were provided. We did not hear about any form of investigation. The allegations even alleged that he actually abused his last position of power by using it to commit dubious acts. It's like trying to hire a store keeper, you call his previous employer and they tell you that he stole from the store, then you say since they are not yet sure if he really stole, you would hire him anyway. . Yes, maybe APC only want him out because of the damage that he can cause to their political ambitions as a party, but for some people to come here to try to defend his confirmation is just plain silly. If we can't at least fight the crooks already in government, can't we at least keep new ones out. That was how a thief left the UK and came here to become governor only to finish and then return to the UK to be convicted. |

tatosh: Under democracy, do u think Buhari would perform better? When as a president, you don't have absolute power unlike the military. Buhari is not the messiah! The corrupt politicians behind him are not telling us the truth Is it Tinubu n co? What change are we talking about? They keep shouting change without telling us how. Well let me shock you, we know why they are shouting change......its because of our OIL! They don't want GEJ to harmonize the oil sector with regards to the oil wells and blocks! Why have they not pass the PIB into law? Watch out for Tinubu and his cohorts and think twice or else you will still come here and begin to regret your actions 1 Like |

Re: Senate Defends Confirmation Of Musiliu Obanikoro As Minister by Eluwilussit(m): 12:01am On Mar 14, 2015 |
disloman: It is not the job of the executive arm of govt to investigate and prosecute offenders. The executives don't even make the laws. The legislatures do that, with the help of the judiciary. We have the police and all the other anti-theft bodies like efcc, to whom the power to investigate and prosecute has been vested on. It is not Jona that's supposed to tell them whom to prosecute or not. I know in naija, we are too afraid of the people in positions, without realizing that the real power lies with the people. As long as we keep blaming the executives, without looking inward, and without holding every part of the govt accountable, we will have corruption problems. Unless by govt, you were referring to the executive arm, legislatures, judiciary and the various armed forces. And the not so armed ones. 1 Like |

angelsing: There is a key witness here- The man who claimed he recorded the meeting should come and substantiate the evidence he tendered. That's a good start to the investigation. Otherwise, its all hogwash! So what the senate have done with regards to Obanikoro is in order with respect to the laws of the land- you cannot call someone a criminal until proven as such in the court of law. If its in that case as some APC people are thinking now, why is Buhari still contesting as president after tendering a fake educational certificate. Is that not criminal too? |

Some comments on this thread are baffling. Someone was recorded on tape blatantly using the Army to rig an election yet no constituted body took it upon themselves to investigate, the President came out to say the tape was doctored without any proof and even went ahead to nominate same guy to return to the ministry he abused. Yet what some people have to say is APC are thugs? Seems someone/something has swapped a lot of brains for noodles in Nigeria. |

Every sane mind knows Obanikoro should not have been renominated at this period. The question begging for answer is: Why should Obanikoro be nominated with only two months to the expiration of this government? I don't want to believe is just for Gratification. But if it is, then Goodluck is surely an opportunist that lacks all qualities of leadership. |

Whynotthetruth:When I said DSS has done nothing, I meant it has not been investigated...What u posted was the response the president gave as the reason why the Tape has not being investigated..Question 1. Do u need a key witness to investigate a crime? 2. Has any forensic investigation been carried out to authenticate the tape? 3. Why do u need the key witness to authenticate the tape while u can easily give an expect to authenticate it?..By the way, thanks for the correction.. The right step to take after getting the tape is to get an expert who knows is onus in such field to authenticate the tape. if the result prove to be true, the culprit shud be arrested and prosecuted and only then can they call the SgT to testify against the offender...Like I said no where in the world will they need a key witness to investigate a crime |

iretiland: I don't understand what you have written here! You need to understand the facts behind the actions of the senators before you start abusing and cursing them. The laws in the constitution which is the laws of our land Nigeria says you are not guilty unless proven by the law court So this is still an allegation. Obanikoro is a free man Please try and get your facts correctly before concluding abusing and cursing |

bdidi:My brother, u only need the key witness to testify..He has provided evidence, the government should get a forensic expert to authenticate the tape...If the tape was confirmed to be true, u will need the key witness to testify against the offender at the court of law....That is the way it is done. |
Re: Senate Defends Confirmation Of Musiliu Obanikoro As Minister by bdidi: 12:32am On Mar 14, 2015 |
gidiMonsta: As far as that tape issue is concern, its an allegation period. Its has not been proven in the court of law so Obanikoro is a free man to take up any post now. Going by what you wrote, it means that Buhari should be labelled a criminal for tendering a fake educational certificate. Then why is he still contesting for president since there is an allegation hanging on his neck. He will contest because it has not been proven in the court that he tendered a fake certificate. The Nigerian constitution should be blamed not the people implementing and interpreting it for the actions they are taking 1 Like |

Since his fake certificate case is in court The so called APC senators have different corrupt cases with ICPC and EFCC, why are they still senators. Them for resign now. You think Buhari is the messiah? When there are Tinibu and co behind the scene? Shine your eyes o! So that you won't come here next time and shout which kind buhari govt be this. angelsing: First...be sure that I go with individuals not party...But if I must support a party, then I will go with PDP because they seem to accept the crudity of politicians and their corruptibility while APC claim to be saints which is the height of insincerity and deceit... My advise to you in that post is the ONLY solution and not typing away energy and speaking grammar here... Ekiti tape didn't plan any rigging if you listened to it; rather they wanted to stop APC thugs from operating by using military to block movements around and also, to stop money released in the government house by Fayemi from getting to the polling stations by blocking targeted politicians from free movement... Do you see any possibility of PDP rigging election against Fayemi even in his own local government where he lost too Truth is that if that election is conducted again... Fayose will win Fayemi convincingly again notwithstanding the hate speeches of indigenes like femi falana & co against fayose... finally, APC and PDP rig elections always...but PDP respect themselves when they are outsmarted by APC but APC cries and insults everybody if PDP outsmarts them... How can election be ONLY free and fair and a reflection of masses mandate, if only APC wins otherwise PDP or APGA or Labour party will be accused by them of rigging... what hypocrisy, blackmail, and sabotage is that...I hate hypocrites!!! 5 Likes 2 Shares |
