Why Is Stealing Corruption? by Nobody: 11:53am On Mar 14, 2015
What is stealing?
.
.
Firstly, stealing is an act...and we have two types of act... We have legal act and illegal act...
.
A legal act is seen to be an act by means of which a legal norm is issued or belief. According to a legal act in a legal proceeding!
.
Also, Using Godel's theorem proves that NO statement can be a conclusive statement. And the statement "stealing is not corruption" is induced to be inconclusive... By this, I mean, if stealing is corruption...then stealing is an illegal act...but if stealing is not corruption, then stealing is deduce to be a legal act....
.
What is Corruption?
.
Corruption is simply the use of powers by
government officials for illegitimate private gain. Any act by any government official that is seen to be involved with money embezzlement is term "corruption"
.
.
Corruption is also seen to be a dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery... Mostly...this are practices from the government officials...
.
You can also say that corruption is the misuse of public power (by elected politician or appointed civil servant) for private gain...
.
.
I wouldn't say Mr President didn't think before he said what he did say on the media..... I'd say, it wasn't intentional....and this shouldn't be a campaign slangs for the opposition party!
.
If the opposition party is truly coming out for change...they should embark on their efforts to make these change stand out and speak out for them....
.
Using a slip-up statement to campaign isn't just a right way to win the heart of the people!.. No body is perfect! No politician is perfect.... Using propaganda to campaign isn't defining the change I seek from the opposition!
.
.
I pray that God should help Nigeria.

Re: Why Is Stealing Corruption? by WisdomFlakes: 12:20pm On Mar 14, 2015
When you are in a position of authority and and you misappropriated/embezzled money, you have stolen and by virtue of your position you are also corrupt as a result of that act of stealing while occupying that office.

See, it wasn't that difficult to explain now was it? cheesy

If only GEJ had kept it that simple he probably won't be in this mess today.

@Eluwilussit.... What's your take in for the topic?
Re: Why Is Stealing Corruption? by Nobody: 1:46pm On Mar 14, 2015
Stealing just like bribery is an element of corruption, a person who steals from the government for private gain is corrupt, he will be charged both under the Criminal code for stealing and under the ICPC Act for corruption, it's madness to separate them especially in the context used by Mr president.

I have never doubted what Jonathan meant by that statement. It is very obvious that he said it the wrong way but the idea he was trying to pass on is very valid.

Dishonesty is corruption. Lying is corruption. Bribery is corruption. Taking salary while you don't put in the hours is corruption. Pretence is corruption. There are so many things that translate to corruption. Thuggery is corruption. Rigging elections is corruption. Embezzlement is maybe the biggest case of corruption in our own case. Perjury nko?

Of course, stealing is part of it. But just like Jonathan said, call a thief a thief. A man who is a thief, would rather see himself as corrupt than as a thief. Jona is simply asking people to differentiate between stealing and other types of malpractices. It is unimaginable to think for even a moment that Jona truly believes that stealing is not part of corruption.

If we go by the full meanings of corruption and stealing, none and I mean none, of the nigerian politicians or officials is free. They are all as guilty as they accuse the opposition.

Buhari's activities in his first coming, were littered with corrupt practices. Favouritism is definitely part of corruption. Buhari jailed our then VP, while he placed his brother Shagari under house arrest in his mansion. Shagari was the president. Ekwueme, the Vice.

As PTF chairman, Buhari used APC, a company owned by his brother-in-law as a sole consultant. APC generated contracts, awarded and executed same, supervised and paid itself. That's conflict of interests. Conflict of interests is corruption but it is not stealing.

I agree with your summation here. It has even happened in US, when Obama called the action of the police stupid and irresponsible. The media and the public feasted on it. He had to invite the policeman and the prof to the White House for reconciliation and some beer. We all slip up. Again, it is the job of the opposition to feast on our slip ups. Lol. Is it enough to become a campaign slang? In Nigeria where there is nothing happening, the answer is yes. What else does the opposition have?

Same here.... We know that GEJ understand what stealing is all about... But the APC make a misconception out of it...

1. Consider the Basket of Fruits = Corruption
2. Stealing by those in leadership position, to be just One of the fruit in the basket.
3. Other "fruits" that are part of the Basket of Corruption include - dishonesty, unscrupulousness, double-dealing, fraud, misconduct, criminality, bribery, venality, extortion, profiteering, crookedness, sleaze, etc.

I hope it make sense now?

The first time Jonathan said it, he said that most things Nigerians regard as Corruption is not. Like Ordinary Stealing. He also that day said Nigerians are abusing and misusing the word Corruption. For One full year, Jonathan never offered and additional explanation. In fact his handlers ignored it, even though it was trending.

After a year in another Media Chat, Jonathan now claimed he was quoting someone. He spent over 5min explaining how Stealing is not Corruption. Even gave example that Corruption is when two unmarried men are sleeping together and Stealing if just ordinary.

Jonathan goofed big time. But it only show how much stealing he is presiding over that it is no longer considered Corruption. Things Must Change.

Perhaps...he was just meandering over something beyond explanation.... And even though he still couldn't nailed it...he has an idea of what he was trying to say...perhaps he wasn't jst able to explain to d masses!

All I read in your comment above are Excuses. There is this saying that "if you have to provide additional explanations for your comments, then you must have been lying, deceptive or incorrect".

Jonathan don't have to provide additional explanation before he should be understand. Unless he has been Wrong in his assertion.

stealing is not jim nwobodo and his ordinary peugeot money

ordinary stealing is not abba morro and the immigrtaion scam

I am ashamed to see a man who overthrew a democratically elected govt, being rewarded with the same democracy he thwarted. That alone, disqualifies him.

I hate Buhari's guts. He refused to appear before Oputa panel. He believed he was above a legally constituted national reconciliatory panel. He snubbed nigerians.

Now he lied under oath and has refused to show his qualifications to nigerians. It is a pity that a man with such low IQ and integrity, is the "best man" among 170m people. Buhari is a saddist and an impostor. He's preaching one thing and doing another.

Like you pointed out, how can you run with the hare and hunt with the hound at the same time? What manner of anti-corruption messiah will be dining with the likes of Tinubu? It can only be a man who doesn't believe in what he's preaching. An impostor. Fake messiah.

Buhari is the least qualified person to ever contest for our presidency. Academically and morally, he is way below the needed standard. If this man is from the South, he would have ended his military career as a WOII. But as a fulani man, he joined the army with a letter from his principal, whereas his counterparts from the South had to meet all the required standards. Shame.

Check out Buhari's rise in the army. It's alleged that he didn't pass most of his officers' exams. Hence, he doesn't go with most of the military appellations like others. But through the quota system, he rose to the enviable rank of a general, while more capable officers from other parts of the country were denied their dues.

His supporters claim that he's misunderstood. Well, I think Buhari is the one who has misunderstood nigerians.

Zoology according to wikipedia is defined thus:
Zoology (/zoʊˈɒlədʒi/, zoh-OL-luh-jee) or animal biology, is the branch of biology that relates to the animal kingdom, including the structure, embryology, evolution, classification, habits, and distribution of all animals, both living and extinct, and how they interact with their ecosystems.

In summary, it has to do with how to administer animal life.

Definitely, Nigerians were right to vote GEJ in the first place most Nigerians are animals by nature, that is why we need a zoologist to come teach us a lesson.

Yes! It only takes an animal to shout GEJ Till 2019 after the following has happened:
#OduaGate
#Death of innocent youth at a stadium
#Over 200 girls kidnapped
#Subsidy scam

Thank God for giving those animals oga Jona
Thank God also for making the humans decide to vote CHANGE

Me, na only school cert I get, why I go dey argue with professor
