you are a complete numbskull. i don't need to finish reading this balderdash you wrote before concluding that your logic is as flawed as your brain capacity to reason properly.

that being said, a country can buy weapons from a company and contract another private firm to bring in mercs who have experience with such weapons to train it's forces how to use them on the field. especially in the case of Nigera. therw just wasn't time for training on these new weapons. which military doesn't require training for new weapons?

seriously, it's not rocket science

Why bother replying if you didnt read it all? Why waste your time?

Why are you arguing? This is exactly what we've been saying the whole time. Highly trained South African merceneries are in Nigeria, on the front line, fighting Boko Haram. So why you arguing?

You can use the excuse that Nigeria isnt "yet trained" on using mine resistant vehicles if you want. What is so technically advanced about a mine resistant vehicle? Your guys dont know how to drive them? Or they dont know how to use the heavy calibar machine guns, which are readily available on other Nigerian equipment?

Are they acquiring Soviet highly technical surface to air missiles or a basic armoured vehicle? Easy to drive. Weapons easy to use for any soldier with prior military experience. You arent purchasing super stealth, teleporting, transforming, levitating vehicles.

Keep selling that story. The more you talk, the sadder it gets. Mercenaries are there to boost your forces, with highly skilled men. Has nothing to do with new equipment being bought. Simple.

Example......If Nigerian troops were in a fire fight with troops from country X today. Nigerian troops have their vehicles destroyed, but manage to capture two enemy Reva armoured vehicles. You're saying a detachment of Nigerian soldiers wouldnt be able to commandeer those vehicles and fight their way out? They would have to first send and email to Reva headquarters in SA, to ask them to send in trainers to show them how to start, drive and use Reva weapons.

Keep selling that sad story.

That's because Nigeria did not only buy Reva MRAPs.

As Heitman said, its all dependent on our foreign policy

KC-130 for a domestically based defence policy
A400M for a continental based policy

never has a single acquisition provided such insight to governmental long term defence planning

Personally, I would say the C-130J is a better option than the A400M as it has a bigger base-payload (despite a smaller vehicular based payload) and more options interms of a tanker and and maritime patrol as well as AWACS - not to mention we have the only certified C-130 maintenance and re-fit plant on the continent

A400M is just a tactical lift pretending to be a strategic lift

FYI, heitmans suggestion of the Alenia C-27J Spartan and CASA C-295M operating as a light-lift combo gave me the biggest military hard-on I have had in a while
As you said it all depends on the role the SANDF wants to play, if we want to play a bigger regional role in Africa, then we have to go for the A400M or the AN-70 which have (limited) Strategic capabilities, but with all the sh*t in Ukraine it basically leaves us with only the A400M as an option, as for a pure replacement for the C-130BZs its seems the C-130J would be the best choice, i mean the best replacement for a herc is a another herc or so they say, only problem is the cost, the KC-390 has similar capabilities(better in some aspects) and its quite a bit cheaper.

Augustus

I have been asking you for 3 days

Show us a NATO vessel fitted with anti-torpedo countermeasures

until you do you dont have an argument

My pleasure.....there are many of them in NATO navies and also other countries of the world, anti-torpedo equipment is plentiful all over the world and for a long time since many years ago.

Submarines have lost their 'legendary superiority' .....it really was never there anyway.

HMS Duncan warship :

Electronic warfare
and decoys:
UAT16
Surface ship torpedo defence (SSTD)

Aircraft carried:
1-2× Lynx HMA8, armed with;
2× anti submarine torpedoes

Agaugau, SA is a champ when it comes to military technology. We are respected by the world when it comes to that area. The only small country in the world that could sustain 30 years of war without procuring a single weapons to fight three countries which were constantly provided with Russian weapons. We build weapons locally and still effectively engaged the enemy.

It is by no surprised that we mysteriously sank the NATO ship, through the tactical shrewdness of the skilled SA naval officers. Today we procure weapons and dismantle them with the view of adding some modifications. SA procured missiles have different specifications from that of the original versions sold by manufactures. We merely give our procured munitions some extra energy and range to have better performance.

keep trying to convince yourself. if your mechanics were fighting, the government and military would not deny it.

Senior military commanders described the claims
which were reported in select international
media and culled by some local newspapers as “a
joke taken too far”. The officers however said that the so called
mercenaries are foreign technical advisers that
are providing trainings and instructions on the
use of new armaments recently procured by the
Nigerian military in the war on terror.

Arms embargo on South Africa was NOT 30 years long you fraud !

During the UN embargo, Israel was smuggling weapons to South Africa including missile and nuclear technology. France sold it's latest version of Mirage F-1 jet fighters to South Africa just before the arms embargo.

South Africa was also buying weapon and ammunition from international black market and arms smugglers.

Finally you could not win the war, and the war was NOT a threat to South Africa, it was fought thousands of kilometers away from Cape Town, in a far country called Angola, and you have no common border with the enemy

SA never procured arms throughout its war in Angola which took over 25 years. Israel had never loaded ship with weapons and sailed it to SA, but Russia did on constant bases supplying arms to Angola.

That was a record that no country in Africa can achieve.

Even ordinary journalists wear combat fatigues in war zone. Rifles for technicians is to defend themselves in case of enemy attack, MRAP is to protect them from land mines and IEDs along the roads
