iterator24: Rooivalk defeated M23 rebels as was supported by media at large. Two Rooivalks scattered the rebels in disarray with rockets that pounced like a fog and exploded into hellfire. That's when a SA snyper hit his target (M23 commander) from kilometres away to make it to the books of longest shot ever recorded in history. |

iterator24:The Congolese army led by the South African trained late Colonel Mamadou Ndala. Without the Rooivalk it took them weeks to dislodge M23 from the Kibati heights, but with the Rooivalk later on they ran into Uganda without looking. As the big ugly bug could hover, stop and look them in the face while spitting fire. Unlike strafing runs by hinds. |

iterator24: SA are not after pride because we know well that our generals are paid well and wouldn't wrestle for change (small money). We serve Africa from the interests of our hearts and we are always the game changers. Everywhere our troops are they left a mark to be remembered with. Even if we serve under Lesotho commander we do not judge, we do what the world expect of us and that is to save the lives of the innocent. North East Nigerian will tell you that when we mean business we do not hesitate. |

MikeCZAR:Yes i agree 100%, i think it will be best if SAAF gets a mixture of KC-390/C-130js and A400Ms, maybe something like 6 KC-390 and 3-4 A400Ms and maby 1-2 A330s that way we have added(although limited) strategic airlift capability, i even read somewhere that the US is marketing their C-17 but that obviously is out of the question 1. we dont need an aircraft with heavy intercontinental-range strategic airlift capability and 2. Its simply to expensive. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeCZAR: 1:23pm On Mar 15, 2015 |
iterator24:. No, M23 had an advantage in the fact that they were defending a hill. So their advance was slow, as M23 dug trenches making bombard by artillery less effective until the Red Kestrel coming from above to pick them in groups to heaven. |

iterator24: All sources recommended the involvement of Rooivalk as the contributor to the UN decisive victory. Had it not been through it many lives would have been lost. The Rooivalk dislodged rebels from the mountain and scattered them in disarray and as others were running for their lives they raised their weapons above as a sign of giving up. |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 1:38pm On Mar 15, 2015 |
MikeCZAR:Why do you say its rubbish? Compared to the C-130J, the KC-390 is 15% faster, carry an 18% heavier payload, and cost 59% as much to purchase. And although having a 15% shorter range than the C-130J, the KC-390 has an aerial refueling capability as a standard feature (only a few specialized sub-variants of the C-130 have an aerial refueling capability),Ruggedized landing gear allows the KC-390 to take-off from or land on any hard and flat surface, including dirt airstrips typical of front line bases and has basically the same take off and landing distance as the c-130j. As for the C-17, whats wrong with it having jet engines? If SAAF ever buys it, its solely going to be used for strategic airlift roles. |

iterator24: Come on man we bombarded this very thread with sources that appraised the work done by Rooivalk in Eastern DRC, that even the minister of defence proposed the idea that Rooivalk manufacturing should resume again. This was following many countries enquiring about Rooivalk productions. So, please do not take us back because we are not ret.arded. |
