Again, I think
some Igbos are still at war with Buhari, 45 years
after the war ended. So, if by divine act, Buhari
wins, what will be the fate of Igbos.?
This seriously calls for concern.

kahal29:
The Nigerian Civil War ended on January 15, 1970. Naturally, Nigerian soldiers occupied every part of Igbo land and used school premises as their make-shift barracks. Less malnourished young men were suspected to be defunct Biafran soldiers and some ladies suffered at the hands of the rampaging soldiers.

My village, Umueleke, in Ehime Mbano of Imo State, was one of the communities occupied by the Nigerian soldiers with their natural provocative utterances. The village shares a common boundary with Mbaise in Imo State, where we assumed to be the operational headquarters of the Nigerian soldiers within our area during that period.

On a certain day in March 1970, one of our brothers that fled Lagos to Biafra with his new car, but could not use same during the war for fear of being confiscated by Biafran Soldiers, perfectly concealed same throughout the period of the Civil War. He brought out the car in March of the same year and drove same to our market square where the soldiers were stationed.

Unfortunately, the soldiers harassed him out of the car and confiscated same, luckily for him there was a divine intervention as the crowd of onlookers saw a convoy coming from the Mbaise axis of our community and suddenly a young and slim officer alighted from the military jeep. He enquired why the crowd gathered and why the man was weeping; the man informed him of how the soldiers had beaten him up and confiscated his car.

The slim officer was a captain with his name-tag Buhari. The officer reminded the people that the war had ended and such thing should not happen. He quickly ordered for the release of the car and also reprimanded the soldiers and as a result, our community enjoyed the usual freedom.

When he became the Head of State, I discovered from his facial appearance that it was the same Buhari that showed human concern to our brother.

But since Buhari indicated interest in ruling the country once again, I have read many commentaries on the pages of newspapers and electronic media that are very uncomplimentary about his life and I wonder whether it is the same Buhari I met in 1970 who was full of passion for people.

However, from my encounter with GMB then, I came to the conclusion that he is not only humane, but a stickler for justice as demonstrated by his insistence that my brother’s car is returned immediately and which the soldiers did. That he ordered that the car be returned and the soldiers involved in such act be detained for stepping beyond their bounds depicted Buhari as a compassionate man and a disciplinarian who abhors maltreating innocent civilians. After all, Buhari could have joined forces with his men to confiscate the car, but he did not because he believed that the war had ended and people should be set free form bondage and discrimination. But he said “mbanau ooo!”

Of course, the lessons learnt from the above are: that a leader must stand for justice at all times; that a leader must take a decision when necessary; that a leader must instil discipline in his lieutenants; that not all Northern soldiers were wicked after the war and that GMB is misrepresented by many Nigerians who see him as evil and tribalistic.

Indeed, from the lessons, one can deduce that GMB is far better than our South-South brothers who confiscated our property immediately after the war and nicknamed it ‘abondoned property’ particularly in Rivers and Bayelsa. Many Igbos died while in pursuit of their legitimate rights over their property. My family members were victims and I nearly lost my life.. Again, I think some Igbos are still at war with Buhari, 45 years after the war ended. So, if by divine act, Buhari wins, what will be the fate of Igbos.?

Buhari wasn't responsible for the sentencing! The accused were taken to the TRIBUNALS and then judged, he wasn't the judge. Get your facts straight!

What fact is clearer than having Ekwueme locked up in Kirikiri and Shagari under house arrest? Which tribunal tried their case and determined that Ekwueme must be jailed and Shagari left to go free? Please tell me another story jooor.

One is called an ex-dictator but we see him daily showing VERY civilized behaviour. The other one is called a gentleman but he has virtually emptied the treasury as he distributes millions to every dick and harry, he has bribed anything bribable. There is hardly any difference between his spoke persons and thugs.

Please tell me who I should vote for.

If wishes were horses beggars would ride. Buhari will only become a president in sambisa or his Daura cattle ranch. Are some Nigerians this naive and dumb? A man who threatened the sovereignty of this great country and said the streets will be soaked with the blood of monkeys and baboons if he's not returned to power. A man who said an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the north. A man who said muslims should only vote for muslims. A man whose kinsmen are busy wreaking havoc in various communities across the middle belt and north central region. What change are you hoping to get from a man surrounded by tinubu and Amaechi? Two corrupt elements. Gej might not be the best but he's the only good alternative. Do you know what this man has in store for Nigeria? Too bad many of you are so blind you can't see. I will pick gej anytime and anyday. Buhari can never be the president of Nigeria. Mark this day that I said this. If. Apc had presented a better candidate I would have vote for Apc but Tinubu's presence at apc has spoilt everything. How can one fight corruption with tinubu and Amaechi as your buddies?

Everyone that has met Buhari will tell you how good the man is. It is only the corrupt politicians who do not want to stop looting Nigeria that are tarnishing Buhari's image.
He is good yet he sacrificed many promising Corp members on the alter of his political selfishness.
" If what happens in 2011 should happen again, by god's grace the baboon and dog will soak in their on blood". Is this the kind of man u want as your president and commander in chief or a man who said " no blood of a Nigerian is worth my ambition". One thing u don't knw is that agents of darkness, knowing that they are dark, frequently camouflage to be agent of light. Maybe u have decided for darkness, but I, my family and two-third of Nigerians has decided and declared for LIGHT. Change can be anything, but LIGHT is TRANSFORMATION and TRANSFORMATION brings GOODLUCK. For this #WeHaveDecidedForGOODLUCK. And declare #NeverAgain.

Thanks my brother for taking time to share your story.

In a nut shell, you made a wrong judgemental error, thinking that Buhari of 1970 is the same Buhari of 2015. Age has taken its toll. He might be a kind hearted man but the truth is HE IS TOO OLD TO RULE NAIJA.

To complete your thesis, pleaze ask VP Ekewuene and we will share his experience too before you make a reasonable conclusion.

Every coin has two sides!

He SAID the APC has only 2 OUTSTANDING PERSONALITIES, of which they are GMB and the VP... with the Rest being corrupt.

So many stories affirming Buhari is a stickler for justice. This tells me there is great hope for our country when he is elected.
How much can an honest man do, when he surrounded by crooks and rogues. Remember that the executive is just one arm of the government. Are all members of the senate & house of reps going to be like Buhari? Does he have power over that arm of government. Do u think these same people shouting "Buhari, Buhari" will not be the same people shouting for his impeachment when he refuses to settle them? Or you think after people like Tinubu have spent all these kind of money, then he will go home and relax. Odiegwu!!! Plus that statement that Buhari made that he will make Nigeria ungovernable for Jonathan in 2011 & we saw how BH terrorised our land, just leaves one wondering whether he is so vindictive.

What if the war had not ended? What would have happened to your brother and his car? Check out all the states where APC are their governors, what exactly are they doing? They are full of propaganda. It is not until you get to such a place that you really know the truth. I just pray that God intervenes in this country's governance.

I know nothing, but if Naira can fall from ₦155 to ₦250 to a dollar in few months, then I know right.

Businesses are downsizing/shutting down, importers are in massive debts, salary-earners wages, are barely worth more than toilet paper [If your salary was ₦155K ($1,000) same time last year, it is worth a paltry $620 now!].

Only a fool would still stick with more of the same.

And don't come and yell that nonsense about falling oil prices . . . greatest oil plunge (prices) ever was in '08 from $147.27 to $33.55.

And Naira didn't commit suicide then. How do you go about selling oil for the highest prices ever, over the longest period ever, while depleting the country's reserve from $62b to what $30b or thereabout?

At the same time incurring more debt doing what exactly?
Re: My Encounter With Captain Buhari by Noviolence2015: 11:52am On Mar 16, 2015
Wow... If this story is true then my cap is off for the General, however, when you read about his actions in the 80s and his ethno-centric tendencies while occupying office as dictator leader and PTF chairman, one tend to wonder what changed?

Metro line worth about $750 million meant for Lagos state was cancelled and a compensation of $600 million was paid to the company for damages.

Same slim man of integrity executed over 80% of PTF project in the North and within the same period misappropriated over N27 billion. The question is: what changed?
Same man that openly called for the implementation of sharia across all geo-political region to me appears on stable.
Kodos to him for his actions in the 70s but the question remains; what changed? What will change now? What change are the APC selling to us?
