Its really saddening when you see ladies over the age of 30 still single. I don't feel its about character as I have seen many ladies with terrible characters get married.

Most these ladies are accomplished. Even with the programmes for singles in churches, stilll no show.The muslims also have programmes where they assist singles in getting married,still no show.

Please, don't state that they want rich men as we all know what is going on now,our women are practically becoming bread winners. Some earn higher than their husbands

Sorry if I sound a little harsh, but it is this kind of thinking that has gotten many ladies in trouble and still keeps getting them in trouble. Somebody close to me lost her life recently because she felt she was getting old and made a wrong choice of which she was strongly warned not to. I have noticed that our women, given a choice between not getting married and living a rich and fulfilling life and getting married and suffer and even die there will prefer the latter because of the pressure our society put on them to marry at all cost. Why are we not talking about 30+ unmarried guys? Why are we not concentrating on these ladies achieving personal fulfillment first? Many ladies because of societal pressure would get married to the wrong person just for the sake of being married. We normally groom our girls for marriage first and in so doing make them sell out their own personal desires and aspiration. We directly or indirectly encourage them to settle for anything in the choice of their career since "they will eventually end up in a man's house. We treat them like second class citizens and brainwash them right from birth that their entire life purpose is for marriage. Yet marriage is not an end but a means to an end. It is a journey that two people have decided to undertake as a team as equals with the man as a functional leader. It is a relationship based on synergy, i.e., the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. For such to happen, we need to move from dependence as children and teenagers into independence before we enter into interdependence(relationships). Only a truly independent person should enter into interdependent relationships of which marriage is one. Let us encourage our girls (I am raising up my daughter that way and I am a man) to develop themselves to the highest level first and continue to enjoy their lives until the person they believe is right for them comes.

Let's be honest here, its not just abt ladies having bad character, its the harsh economy that is not favourable to guys, such that majority of single men of marriageable age in Nigeria do not have enough finance to establish and maintain a healthy marriage/family....reason most reasonable single guys are shying away from marriage.

Single ladies should also wake up to the reality...don't wait for a moneybag...don't wait for a perfect man...if u are a single lady working with good pay, don't wait for only financially buoyant guys with so many options, who keep sampling ladies and posting them...find an ambitious single guy with bankable and realistic vision and partner with him and build a home.

For instance, single ladies like Linda Ikeji, Rita Domnic, Genevieve Nnaji, etc are still single probably waiting for one Tall, Dark, Handsome, Rich, God fearing young man to come marry them and in the process they end up warming the filthy beds of many financially buoyant single guys in the hope of getting married to them and at the end these guys dump them for another available single lady waiting for rich handsome guy.

Ladies just need to wake up to the economic reality and stop waiting for things that exist only in movies and novels, that's all. Its beyond bad character.

Our past and present corrupt governments and politicians contributed immensely to this societal problem.

What's it again? Women out number men by like 4:1, don't they? So, yea, more women out there than men (argument for polygamy for some) therefore, some will not get married.

Furthermore, some women just don't like men. Some are just plain gay (this also applies to men).

And some are waiting for the perfect man. They probably need to start looking at the possibilities of getting clay and making him themselves.
