Please nobody should use this thread for political campaign, ethnic bashing mudslinging and the rest. All I need is informed and sensible opinion or comments. And thanks in advance for your understanding.

It is no common knowledge that the Nigeria military is undergoing some serious upgrade in their weaponry and equipment.

It is also a common knowledge that the men of the Nigeria military were in the past complaining of being underequipped and also being entrusted with outdated weapon to confront the enemy.

Just of recent my mind have been going back to the bakassi issue with Cameroon and how will quickly accept the international court judgement without putting up a show or reappealing, making a strong case for the people of bakkassi to decide their own destiny with their own hands through a referendum. And also how the Cameroonian were fully charged for war and boasting of how they will disgrace our military.

Now my questions is if we had gone to war then, what would have happen? Considering France relation with their former colonies would Nigeria have come out with some respect?

Do Cameroon knew something about our capability that we don't know? Which to me it seem they knew

And the Ikeja bomb blast is just an accident due to safety issues or deliberate act of sabotage

if Nigeria military can conduct operation from the high sea during abacha to ensure peace in sierra Leone and succeeded, something that happened not long ago. My question is what happened to those weapon used in that operation or is it a case of our weapon being more advance than those of the rebel groups?

Please informed contributions please.

The Nigerian army is/was not in shape to even go head to head with ordinary Chad. Not to talk of oil rich and the French backed Cameroon. Wars against neighbours almost always end up in stalemate.

Hmmmm. Should i take your statement to mean that assuming we had gone ahead to engage in war with Cameroon over bakassi, we would have been thoroughly pounded mercilessly.

There is grand deception going on.

from latest estimate "Boko Haram" number 4,000,

Nigerian Armed forces number 140,000.

From videos I have seen of them Boko Haram travel in small pick up trucks (incidently very similar to what most of the Chadian troops travel in) and motorcycles and carry mainly small arms like rifles.

Nigeria has scores of armoured vehicles, tanks, transporters, artillery, naval ships, military helicopters, jet bombers at its disposal.

Track record: Boko Haram history of war fare really started in 2013 .

Nigeria has a long history starting with 1967 civil war and also our interventions and victories in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

So exactly how does anybody expect me to buy this deception that after 6 years of war it is Boko Haram that is capturing Nigerian territory and forcing Nigeria to accept assistance of foreign troops? and even with their assistance, these rag tag militants are still nt defeated after several months.

All that has been achieved is that Nigerian territory has been captured by Chad and Cameroon, both of whom have a history of territorial disputes with Nigeria.

Make we wake up sharp sharp!

Our government is colluding with enemies to secretly break up Nigeria at this very moment.

Chadian troops and Boko Haram are one and the same and our top military chiefs and government are co-operating.

It may be a plan to break up Nigeria so that the elections never take place and become irrelevant.

Hence why the immediate setting up of a parallel government is crucial to have an alternative voice to the reckless stewardship of the nation to destruction.

Not bad angle to look at things from. But what if the government are not cooperating but sabotage by some people who see things different or for the love of money.

We have to put into consideration also the stance of some people who in the upper room in international circle are term "institution" this people operate above the law of the nation and any attempt to bring such people down usually result into anarchy in the society by their massive followers.

What do you have to say to that?

i want to say you dont understand a lot of things about Bakassi and the r/ship b/w NIG/CMR

first is that the ICJ JUDGEMENT cannot be appealed.B4 going they both had signed an agreement to respect the ruling without any further action.
The ruling also allowed the redefining of all the border.Nigeria gained small areas along the border as well.

War would have been very wrong for both countries.Cameroon claims to habour 4million Nigerians, some have remained since the end of the Biafra war, thats probably the highest number of Nigerians in a single country outside Nigeria.

Let me give you an example, during the Bakassi war the then Nigerian ambassodor to Cameroon who was involved in the negotiations had some of his extended family who were living in Cameroon as Cameroonians, which included his own blood senior brother.[i personally new him]

Lastly cameroon has a very good r/ship with most Northern elders.Remember IBBs first daughter is married to a Cameroonian businessman .
The hausa/fulani in Cameroon and Nigeria have a lot in common.

if govt is not in collusion, surely 6 years is enough to weed out saboteurs.

If you google the economic hit man, you would gain insight about how corrupt govts are blackmailed by America into working against the interests of their own people.

My angle is the only angle that makes any logical sense.
