So many humble and harsh opinion about the women above 30 that are still single...

Majority of them are the cause of their problems...

1. Finding a man that is dark, tall and cute like me. When they practically know men like us don't easily give into the marriage philosophy. We have mission to accomplished before finally settling down. I laugh when some, still prove stubborn that they will wait. They don't know there is another younger n fresher lady we are interested inn...

2. Some keep on finding the " already made men in street". You still see a lady @ her late 20's stating that her husband "must" have a car, house and earning a fat salary. I am not saying having standard or taste is bad but when they are not forth coming, it is better to forgo the standard and get someone that both of you can get to that standard. It's only girls of 17 to 20 that normally sing those songs.

3. Some have nothing to offer except sex. Bullshit to that woman that can't contribute meaningfully to the welfare of a man except to the welfare of his bed. He will take you as someone that don't have goals in life.

4. Some girls always claim they are not single, whereas deep down in their heart, they are bloody single. They keep scaring the serious guyz, that they have somebody. Whereas there is nobody on ground or the person does not even care.

5. High cost of marriage ceremony. Why will I spend my hard earned income on that so called multi-marriage. Will do introduction, traditional marriage, white wedding, reception and honey moon. A man with an average earning can hardly afford this, hence will decide to be single for sometimes thereby making some ladies remain perpetual single.

6. Harsh economy. The economy is not easy my brother. Unemployment everywhere. Even the ladies get better jobs now than the guyz because of that thing( you know the thing). Guyz are in the street hustling to get daily bread for themselves and family. Marriage become least in their priority.

7 Some ladies problem on being single is spiritual. Some might have offended that womam in the village or their mother or parents have done something evil in the past. So they need deliverance from a good prophet.

8. Some ladies lacks manners. They don't know what courtesy demands hence people see them as uncultured ladies.

9. Some ladies are liability. They didn't go to school, or learn a trade or handwork or even know how to cook. They used their early youth life finding the d!ck that is bigger or sweeter. Karma now showing itself now.

10. Some ladies are meant to be single because no body can tolerate their attitude.

A lot of people have succumbed to this pressure and today they wish they never married. The response below is on point. Many companies prefer to train and hire single women because they feel they are docile and controllable. Many women will tolerate crap from a man in authority like their boss and then come home to their boyfriend or husband and start forming career woman.

In Nigeria sadly SOME of these single women in good jobs are seen as potential mistresses for the "men in charge" so these men in charge would rather hire a lady with less qualifications than a man. Most men won't take nonsense even from a boss.

There are many factors responsible for that, but top of it is harsh economy, prolonged unemployment and under-employment of guys after graduation from school.

Another factor is: from 1999 - 2015, more single females entered the labour market and took up jobs men used to do in the past....single ladies getting better employment opportunities than single guys...thereby creating few financially eligible bachelors in Nigeria.

Now, these single ladies with good paying jobs that men used to have and take absolute financial responsibility of their household and even marry single ladies with no job or handwork, have refused to bring themselves down to marry single guys with no job or no good-paying job....these single ladies took jobs that guys are supposed to take and marry them but refuse to marry these single guys they took their jobs.


So women empowerment contributed to the problem...single ladies with good job shouldn't wait to marry rich or financially buoyant guys...they should just find an ambitious single guy with positive/defined vision and partner with and build an enviable home for themselves instead of waiting for: Tall, Dark, Rich, God-fearing man that doesn't exist!

you sound quite certain about this, how come? Can u categorically speak for all spinster when u aren't even one urself.

There's no one particular reason why every spinster is still single. And to be frank, I'm sure most of them are fed up with topics like this (heck, even I am fed up)

This situation will only get worse in the future. And I say so because of 2 reasons:

1. The economic trend of the country: only few men will think marriage when he feels he cannot handle the responsibilities (mostly financial) that come with it.

2. Modern-day Indoctrination of the female youth:
Internet and television subtly pushes into our heads "ideals" that are destructive. And one of them is that false image of what an "ideal man" is. A lot of our teenagers consume these mentally damaging messages like crack. (and let's face it, women are much More impressionable than men). So while in their late teens and early 20's they treat distastefully the males which do not match the picture of the "ideal man" they were taught by the media and friends. And by the time they finally decide to "get serious" they realize that all that glitters is not gold, and that most of what fails to glitter are actually worth more than gold.

All in all, no amount of "front page topics" can change the country, our young men, or even the spinster themselves. My people have a saying that goes thus " the only real piece of advice is that which a person offers himself"

My brother, a friend of mine was among the 20 list of finalist in a multinational company and they need 8 people. Among the 20 finalists, 16 ladies, four guys.

I told me of his performance @ d last stage interview which was wonderful as the board of d employers informed him he will get d job and he filled the employment form, submit credentials, medicals, etc.

Till 2day they did not call him, they employed 10 pretty ladies among them.
