Same thing happened to me dear as my son stopped at 5months too but I had to continue givin him formula oh until he took it U can start with 3 leveled table spoon mixed with 3-4 leveled scoops of formula. If u r just starting pls it should be a little watery then gradually thicken d texture as d day goes by. U can also train him as regards feeding schedule say like 3hrs interval. Pls try and continue givin him formula to drink cos he needs it. If he is not takin it from his bottle then u can try using spoon. It's tedious but what can a mother do? My son hates water but only takes water with spoon so I patiently give him with spoon. For d formula, u can try another one if d present one is been rejected. U can also express breast milk if u r lactating well and add to his cereal. If he takes d oatmeal well, try introducin puree after 5 days. Cheers quote author=diamondspooky post=31648330]plz mumys i need help my 5month baby has stop bossom milk and formula milk just bought gerber oatmeal nt kw hw d schedules of feedn and had lost little weight plz help tank u [/quote] 1 Like |

hello mamas, good morning please how do you handle these government officials giving polio vaccine to children street to street. do you allow your children to be immunization by them even though you have a vaccine routine with your hospital? I didnt allow my child, since l know he is up to date with his vaccines, however, l have another vaccine appointment for him at his 18th month. People around felt l was doing 'l too know' because they told me there is no over dose of it and that what they are giving is a different one, which has not been given before. i trust my hospital to give him in his next appt if he needs it. Please how do you handle this? |

udoka2:I think wot they gv is booster dose. I dont think its wrong. For eg d pple dat came to our church ystday were giving OPV and it included children abt 2-5yrs. Its just in d bid to completely eradicate polio frm nig. U cld ask ur paed's opinion tho and hear wot she ll hv go say. I wld like to kno wot she says abt it. |
Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by udoka2: 10:28am On Mar 16, 2015 |
i planned to ask that in my next appointment. But won't it be an overdose for a child who is under a 'going routine'? this is my concern. For a child of say 3 - 5 years no wahala but for babies who are still under a routine maybe an overdose...just my thinking |

udoka2: I think b4 dis pple r sent out, govt n hospitals already knows dat children below 2yrs av an immunization routine. So 4 dem 2 keep insisting on giving all children below 5yrs, I tink dey know wat dey r doing. My baby is 4mths old n I brought her out 4 it yestdy even though she collected @ 3mths. I tink its just dia way of eradicating polio. Don't tink deer is ova dose of it. But let us know wat ur pead says cos mine says nothing is wrong wit it. |

udoka2:i get wot u mean. I dont think ur child needs it since he s still on d routine as u said. My 1yr old didnt get too. Its actually aimed at completely eradicating polio, so they usu dont want stories and try to cover as many pple as possible (my thinking). Bt it ll still b gud to kno wot ur paed says. |

Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by lovinam: 7:12pm On Mar 16, 2015 |
Pls o! Give your kids polio vaccine to avoid stories that touch. My baby took the last one at 6months or so. I brought him out for another lately. There is no harm in doing so. Check your immunization cards I think polio vaccine stops at 6 months. So if your baby is older than 6months go get it. 2 Likes 1 Share |

There is a reason WHO released an immunisation schedule. You cant just be firing vaccines into your baby because a bunch of people are dispensing it. Mummies, stick to your existing schedules as contained in the book. The health workers are meant for those who have not taksen or completed the dose. Vaccines are like drugs...they should not be abused. 2 Likes |

Mzora: Its called "alefo" in yoruba, i dont know the english name. It will clear on its own after some time.....its nothing harmful. Just be careful when bathing the area, dont use hard sponge....ordinary soap will do or a soft cloth. Then if u can get original agnesia powder and coconut oil (adin agbon), it helps too. I heard all this baby products do cause it sometimes....dont know how true is dat sha. |

You do realize this vaccine is booster dose. Its for 0-5yrs. I asked two medical doctors and they both said there is nothing wrong in my lo taking it. I still repeat what I said earlier check your immunization cards and ask your docs too. bossladyMo: 1 Like |

lovinam: that maybe for your hospital, I am very sure my son was given another OPV at 14months with DTP booster. He was initially meant to take yellow fever and chicken box, but these were postphoned for 18th month. As others have said, if you have a detailed immunization routine l think it's good to stick with it. For the hospital l use, he is on this routine until 5 years. and i think this may not be a case for those that use government hospitals for their immunization routine. Thanks for your contributions. |

Hello lovely mommas!!! Nita, i see you here, how u doing and your boy. Please i need help...can someone help with info on how I can prepare soyabean/crayfish/groundnut combo by myself; and also how to make pap. I know i read it on this thread some years back but cant seem to find the info again. Also, is it safe to grind corn/groundnut/soya etc. with public grinder. I tried using my blender with my first baby but it wasnt smooth and the process was quite exhausting. Also, when you use blender for baby food, do you need to sterilize with milton before use, or is it just enough to wash properly. Thanks |

Chi baby we are fine oh. Howz ur boy dear? As regards ur question, I give my son Ogi baba (millet and guinea corn). U prepare normal corn same way. 1st u wash d corn and put in a bucket then add water so as to soak it. I soak mmine for 3days but wash and change d water every morning and evening. On d 3rd day I take it to d market and grind using d big grinding machine. Afterwards, I seive d grinded stuff with d seive that's like scarf, adding clean water when necessary to wash off everything from d shaft. After this is done, I allow what I seived to settle down for like 12hrs then drain out d water leavin only d pap at d bottom of d bucket. I share into ziplock bags and freeze. For d soya, pls fry it with a fryin pan like u r roasting it. Pls don't add oil oh. Just fry it dry like that it will be makin sound but nothing to worry about. Then take it to d market and and grind it dry. Store in an air tight container in d freezer. When mixing d pap with water add soya to it b4 cooking. As regards grindin in d market. I. Make sure d machine is washed very well. I carry my own water sef to d market. But even if u don't carry ur water just make sure they wash d machine very well. As long as u seive in a clean environment and with clean water and also u ll cook d pap then baby should be fine. Pls don't add groundnut until baby is 6months and above. U caan just wash ur baby's utensils urself so that u r sure it's properly washed. For me I av a compartment in my fridge just for his feeding items so after I wash, I just keep in d fridge. I sterilise one in a while but without Milton. I hope I cud help u to Frankyy2013 dserious: |
