....my broda u cannot really verify the autenticitY of a card without te card reader,but each PVC has a VIN number and for all cards the VIN number is on the register that will be given to all presiding officers,so even if you make a fake one naa d fake VIN number...it won't appear on the register given toi us..therfore we will deduce its a fake

On getting to the polling booth you present your PVC. the INEC officer will use the card reader to read the PVC, if it is original your passport and bio data will show on the card reader. With your passport they can tell if you are the real owner or not. The second step assuming its original PVC and you are the owner is to capture your finger print. If the machine fails to do this due to one reason or the other, you will then be given an incident form to fill.

If the card reader doesnt read your PVC in the first step, you have nothing doing in that polling booth. Its either your PVC is cloned or you are in the wrong polling booth.

Those buying PVC really dont understand how the card reader works, and if they will bribe, will that also including bribing the opposition party agent

sorry to answer your second question...card reader makes it easier for inec official to know fae cards from real ones..card reader also allows you to count total number of voters cad faster and if there is any anomaly ,you will know, cos once your card has been verified ,it is recored to a central server that the said person as voted...guy without this card reader,rigging will be easy

Please clarify, because i know parties are buying VIN numbers to clone on PVC.

With what INEC said, the PVCs have a chip inside, so even if a genuine VIN is written on a cloned PVC, the card reader wont read it. The card reader reads the chip inside the card, not what is printed on the card.

you are wrong dear. card reader can do more harm than good. what if the unkiller party has the pass code to database of the card reader, would they not rig with that. what if the unkiller party has been assigned a card reader that would read all clone cards. Assuming the pvc was properly handled then we can be talking about free and fair.

if killer party does not support card reader and unkiller party supports it then to make the equation balanced is simple. the inec chairman should be removed to enable another body that would tighten the security of the card database to come in then card reader should be used after that, at least every one would be happy for a free and fair after that
