temmym4:He doesn't have to take the documents along except he needs to prove something. Also, there is no risk in taking the documents except something is wrong with them. |

temmym4:The only way to elude imminent deportation is to request for asylum. I recommend that you tell his people to advice him to verbally request to be allowed to remain in the UK to seek asylum: he has the rights to make this request which must be allowed by law abiding immigration officers. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by worry359(m): 7:21pm On Mar 17, 2015 |
Vicjustice: Sorry but I do not see any grounds that would allow him asylum. He might delay the process for a few days but that's all. At point of entry he has done something to attract attention and they have looked closer at him and been unhappy. How long was his planned stay and what was the reason? £580-00 will not last more than a few days paying hotel bills and feeding, this may be the problem. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by temmym4(m): 7:36pm On Mar 17, 2015 |
He has less than 2 months on his visa but he will only be staying for just few weeks bro. What if they send him some more money in his account so he could cash it via ATM at the airport? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 7:38pm On Mar 17, 2015 |
worry359:You are right, removal may be quick as the Immigration Authority already has grip of his Passport, otherwise, it would have taken ages... We are talking about how he can avoid imminent deportation, so, a request for asylum is the answer: who knows, he might be lucky like many people before him |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 7:41pm On Mar 17, 2015 |
temmym4:The problem is not about the amount of money that he has, but his questionable intention |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by worry359(m): 7:42pm On Mar 17, 2015 |
Vicjustice:On the other hand, if he returns home now with his return ticket (I presume he has one) It might give no deported stamp on his passport. As a failed asylum seeker that record will follow him. Things to think about. |

temmym4: LET him state exactly what transpired btw him and the POE officials. what basis did he get the visa? conference or tourist? did he do a new hotel booking if tourist? so many questions wch until you throw more light on, we cant really help. is the guy a confident person?.............cos i think he didnt make a new hotel booking, so when they asked him where he would stay, he was fidgety and stammered.that would set off alarm bells in any POE official worldwide... why would his mother collapse if he is sent back?..whats the big deal in not entering the uk?? i hope this ends well 2 Likes |

Hello house, I had my application submitted on the 11th March and I paid for courier to an address that's a few hours journey away from me,cos it was my best option.Today I received a mail, the mail stated that my visa has been processed and that my passports will be sent to where i applied from. I want to know if there s a way of telling if the outcome is positive or not? And since I m a bit far from my courier address, should I intercept and collect at Lagos(if still possible),or to wait and have them leave it with someone else who I will tell them to over the phone. Thanks for your response. |

So my sister had her interview at the embassy today and it was gruesome. The interviewer asked her if she had dependants, was married and lived with anyone.she responded no to all the answers.I am skeptical she will be given a Visa as these were the main questions. We can only hope for the best. |

what is misrepresentation under the UK immigration law It probably means that the UKBA believed that he used false papers to try to gain entry, or that he gave false information. You should have some paperwork issued at the time of rejection, look for a code or reason and post that so we can understand. |

kayode85: I was asked to stay back for an impromptu interview too after submitting my application weeks back which if they are to grade me, i cant score more than 70%.... to my suprise, my application was ready within 5days and.... and .... i was issue wit da visa. So ya sister should just have faith and wait for the outcome. |

Greetings guys, wanna make some enquiries on this visa thing. I intend visiting the UK during my leave. Financially am ok with strong ties and will be sponsoring my trip. But I'll be tagging along with a friend who is applying for a second visit to the Uk. The issue here is, we intend staying in his cousins apartment. Do I need to book a hotel prior to the application and cancel later or state in the application that I will be staying with them? |

Hello everyone, I've been a passive follower of this thread and i must commend the work being done out of their good hearts by Justwise, vicjustice and co. I have a challenge concerning travelling to the UK and ur candid advice is urgently needed. I'm a recent young graduate and currently unemployed. As u may or may not know d federal govt thru NCDMB is trying to improve local content participation in Oil and gas buisness in Nigeria. So, i was selected by an oil servicing company (i'll refer to them as DCompany) that won a contract to develop an oil field in nigeria for a 2 year training in their office in UK. According to d terms of the contract they hav with d govt, they must train 4 Nigerians in oil&gas engr in UK of which i'm one of them. However, when we applied for Uk 6 months business visitor Visa we were refused entry clearance. This is what d ECO said in d refusal letter: "I acknowledge that you intend to undertake training in the Uk and that DCompany will cover the costs related to your visit. Whilst i am satisfied that they are in a position to do so, it is the intentions of the applicant that are paramount. I am not satisfied on the balance of probabilities that you meet all of the requirements of paragraph 46G of immigration rules. You have stated that you are unemployed; however there is no further evidence as to how you are currently supported in Nigeria. Furthermore you have not indicated any dependent family residing with you in Nigeria or any evidence of assets you may have. Because of all this, I am not satisfied on the balance of probabilities that your personal and financial circumstances are such that you'll be encouraged to leave the UK at the end of your visit. There is no satisfactory evidence that you will be offered any employment upon the completion of the training by DCompany or any evidence of your future plans. Your right of appeal is limited to the grounds of......" This is the 2nd time we'll be refused visa to go for this training. At first we applied for 2 years and was refused, 2nd attempt we applied for 6 months. Both business visitors. DCompany said since they're only meant to train not employ that is what they want to do. House please, what will u advice? I'm beginning to think maybe we're applying for the wrong class of visa or can we appeal d decision? |

tosine25: Please after applying online what is the next step? What is the duration from initial application to submition to interview. I am asking on behalf of a friend as I am only familiar with the old method when you get appointment through phone. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 12:02pm On Mar 19, 2015 |
bicorn:Sure, you are commending us because you have a "challenge concerning traveling to the UK", if not, you wouldn't have given a damn, right? How about commending someone with gratefulness without asking for a favour? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 12:13pm On Mar 19, 2015 |
bicorn:The position of the ECO is understandable. Though, as a student/trainee, (if sponsored by your own family) you are not supposed to be subjected to the scrutiny of your personal circumstances, but as a person who is being sponsored by a Company, you are expected to have something to return to Nigeria for, and the most viable thing is the availability of employment that your sponsoring company will provide for you. If your company is sponsoring you to travel abroad for training, but they are not offering you any employment after that, then, of what benefit is your training to the company? Now, the problem does not lie on you, but on the company that is responsible for your sponsorship, if they can make a job available for you or at least, make a documented statement to this effect, then, your application will most likely be successful. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by bicorn: 12:25pm On Mar 19, 2015 |
Vicjustice: Thanks for the response, How then do u think i can convince the ECO i'll return after the training? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by bicorn: 12:28pm On Mar 19, 2015 |
Vicjustice: If the company offers me an employment now and then we reapply for the visa, i'm thinking it'll look suspicious to the ECO that they had to wait till after the refusal to do that. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 12:30pm On Mar 19, 2015 |
bicorn:You actually quoted me half way, please, refer back to the complete comment and there you have your answer. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 12:41pm On Mar 19, 2015 |
bicorn:No, it won't look suspicious, things are easier when done orderly. The company can write a declaration that it was an oversight that they did not state their intention to offer you a position in the company once your training has been accomplished. This should help. |
